Past Midnight

Description

Every three days, it happens. Driving you mad. The loud music coming from the apartment next door. In there, what you like to call an annoying kid. Every three days, he waits for you to go to sleep to put on the music. Every three days, you have to lecture him. Every three days, he says he is sorry. And every three days, he does it yet again, ignoring he said he wouldn’t bother you again. If it were not for his friend (who calls himself his brother), you would not even waste your time talking and call the police.

Foreword

Characters

  1. Cassidy Willows: A young woman who is a student and works as a barista. She has her own apartment and lives by herself. She is not what you would call a social butterfly, even if she is pleasant to talk with and usually gets to people’s good side. But she doesn’t really try to connect with people. She likes to keep to herself, remain in her room, typing with her laptop on her laps and earphones on. She loves music, the woods, and this smell of coffee. Oh the smell of new books or bookshelves sure is nice too. She also loves those old-looking bookshops. She would take a walk in a park anytime if it was not for all the people there… She hates crowded places. That is it. And she loves her peaceful and quite uneventful life. She doesn’t feel like she needs anyone but some crazy time with her friends once in a while isn’t that much of a bad thing, even to her.

  2. Zelo aka Choi Junhong: A young man who just got into university and is greedy to learn. This boy is full of passion. He is a lively soul even if he sometimes doesn’t look like he is. Nice, pleasant, curious and mischievous. This is Zelo for you. He is still quite clumsy when it comes to new people. However, most of them forgive him for that child face of his. Junhong likes maths, physics, psychology, technology and anything new. But what he truly likes too is dancing. A day without dancing is a wasted day. Other than this, Junhong moved in a new apartment a few months ago with a friend of his. And he already has befriended with most neighbours (especially women in their 30-40)! But there is this neighbour he has never really got to talk with. Which may become a problem…

  3. Bang Yongguk: Zelo’s friend, the one he moved in with. He is a nice guy. Responsible and reliable, he is the one who is watching over “this kid” or "my little bro", as he would say. Lately though, he is hardly at home because of his job. Or then, he comes back home really late. In spite of this, he is probably the only one who really got to talk to Cassidy Willows, the girl who lives next-door. They just met a few times in the hall and at the coffee shop she works at. And he may have helped her more than she wished he did. She kind of owes him a lot without really knowing him.

Chapter 1: I love how you portrayed Zelo making him act like his age and not overly childish just because he is the maknae. Good job, this is a really nice story.
