Foreword

"Let's see here," I stared down at my calculator. "Electric bills, water bills, school fees, money for food-," I paused and stared at my mom. "Well, if we minus the school fees, we manage to have enough food for the rest of the month."

"No, no." She shook her head in protest. "You've already burden yourself with that part-time job of yours. I don't want you to drop out of school and have no future." It's not that easy, considering that school had really high fees. Plus, I had to board a bus to go there. "I know," Mom pushed down my calculator, and for a second there, her eyes sparkled with excitement. "How about you study at that high school near the graveyards? It's near our house. You can walk there. And the school fees are very cheap. And maybe," she closed with her hand, making sure the words that she's about to say weren't clear, "Get a boyfriend."

"I can hear you and that will never happen."

She pinched my cheeks, pulled them, and said, "You're not going to be single forever."

"Stop it," I pushed her hands away and changed the subject. "It's an all boys school, you know."

"That doesn't stop me," she pulled out a hairdryer and a scissor. I knew this was going to end badly. "Now, give me that beautiful long hair of yours." And it just did.

This was what you'd get when you have a hairdresser as a mother. I stepped back and without a second thought, I grabbed the nearest object and threw it at her, and sprint away. I hear a loud bang. Wait a minute. What did I throw at her? It was very square-y. I looked back and saw a red spot on her forehead... and a toaster at her feet. Whoops.

"Come back here, sweetie." She said calmly, a smile plasters on her face. She's always like this. She's so nice and gullible. That's one of the reasons why we always ran out of money. People borrowed it from her constantly. "This is the only solution. I can't let you drop out of school."

After a few moment of protesting, and a few flying objects, I'd finally agreed.

N.O.T.E ~ This is just a story I've made as a pastime while I'm in school holidays for three months. Let's see where it will go, shall we? This is just one short chapter. Next will be long. Please let me know your opinions :)
