The Interviews (A Skydragon/Sunsky Story)Taeyang approaches the car as I get out and slam the door.
"Please tell me you didn't lie about telling Jiyong about us."
Fear floods his eyes and I can feel him breathing a little faster. It's true. He lied to me.
"Can we talk about this later?"
I sigh and look back at Jiyong who is looking at us. I can telll he's hurt.
"Jiyong, I'll talk to you later. I'm sorry we didn't finish shopping but it can wait."
He shrugs, "It's fine, whatever. Stay here with Taeyang. He's obviously more important right now." I detect the bitterness of his words and stop myself from rolling my eyes.
I grab Taeyang's hand and we go to my apartment. We're silent in the elevator; I can't find the right words.
As soon as I open the door, he says, "I'm sorry."
"It's too late for apologies." I'm angry.
"You would have never moved on if you knew he still loved you. I had to help you because you never let me in."
"It wasn't your place to help me, Taeyang. It never was. You may be my best friend but your feelings will always get in the way. That's why I never asked for your advice because you're selfish."
Hurt flashes across his eyes momentarily. He blinks and stares at me with this look. This look that stirs something inside me. I want to hug him; I'm so sorry for saying that. Taeyang is the kindest person I've ever met and I just hurt him again. Damn it, Chaerin.
