Ever since the number of Girls’ Generation faded from nine to eight, relationships between the remaining girls and Jessica also started to fade. The girls didn’t choose to distant themselves from the princess. Again, it was an order from above.

‘You girls will definitely be affected by her departure and keeping close contact with her will only deepen your sorrow. So it’s for the best.’

Recalling the words from the management, Tiffany scoffs. She’s holding a tight grip on her phone and debating whether or not to call her. But calling means talking, and talking means making noise, making noise means attracting ‘care’ from managers. Being in the industry, you have to be very careful with every step you take, every move you make. Tiffany sighs and silently curses whoever invites their managers to this pre-Halloween party.

Tiffany misses her, she misses her voice, but calling is really too risky, so she settles for texting.

While waiting for the girl’s reply, she scrolls up and down the conversation. She realizes the bubbles are always like this; first line is dead serious, without any emojis and doesn’t show much; after a line of space, here comes the real thing, their emotions truly revealed.

They have to be discreet with anything, even it is as minimal as a format of the texts.
