The Lotus Lantern || A HarryPotter AU

Description

First things first, we are NOT Hogwarts. Hogwarts is on the other side of the globe, where needless to say, is effing far. Secondly, we are located somewhere in the middle of the Tibetan mountains, so if you live in East-Asia, you should know where to go for lessons. Actually, if you're one of us, there'll be a dragon that will pick you up in a flying boat from your home. Once you've gotten these things clear, I think you're ready for Jade Palace.

Foreword

Hello. My name is Gu Hwarin. I live in South Korea. Dad's a Muggle and Mum's a Witch.  But don't be fooled - Dad's been itching to take control of Mum's wand and do some spells to clean up the mess in his study room. (The last time he did it the spider grew abnormally large.) Naturally, Mum kept her wand stuck in her pocket from then on.

When I was younger, Mum threw me the whole volume of Harry Potter and she was like, "Here! This will help you!" At that time, I thought I was going to Hogwarts. Like man, how cool is that? I couldn't wait to see the castle - Mum told me that the one in the movies was a fraud - until I asked her one day when I was going to Hogwarts. She laughed and shook her head and replied that we Asians don't attend Hogwarts. We attended Jade Palace.

Last year, Mum and I pored over photographs of the palace, its lake and the mess hall. Deep inside, I was sort of upset that I couldn't attend the famous school where Harry Potter attended. Hogwarts was the biggest thing that happened in Wizarding history, and I was a Witch, and I couldn't attend it. What a bummer.

But there were things that Hogwarts didn't have. For instance, there was Dragon Racing and Fire Sculpting (I heard that people competed for who could Transfigure fire into something awesome). Mum told me she had been a Dragon Racer and Dragon Racing was a very different game from Quidditch, she had said. I couldn't help but feel excited. I immediately knew I was going to be one, like Mum.

One last thing before the dragon arrives, Mum told me that Jade Palace also sorted students into four cohorts by the Lotus Lantern. Lupeus for the quick-witted, Dracinae for the brave, Cervidae for the pure hearted and Arcturus for the mysterious. Mum was in Arcturus, I don't know how she is mysterious, judging from the way she drops her frying pans every other day.

Oh man, how I've waited for me to turn twelve. I think the dragon's here. Goodbye, for now.

A/N:

Hey everyone! I decided to write a HarryPotter au after just finishing the series last week (yeah I know I'm very late, sorry Potterheads).
Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this one. I think Hogwarts is already awesome by itself, so I'm gonna create a new Wizarding school + Exo inside.

HAPPY READING!
