Just Like You
On the Other Side of the City"I could be cold
I could be ruthless
You know I could be just like you"
"I could be weak
I could be senseless
You know I could be just like you"
"You thought you were standing beside me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be just like you"
A warehouse.
An abandoned warehouse.
Xiumin thought it was fitting.
That would be the place the 6 of them set up.
With their two prisoners.
Hands zip tied behind their backs.
Lay didn't bother to heal them.
They were going to be killed anyways.
It was now a question of when?
And by who?
Ace felt something nudge her foot.
Her eyes shot open.
Surroundings: Unknown.
Condition: Healing.
Function: Inner axis still off.
That was how Ace learned to think.
Too many close calls will do that to a person.
Something nudged her foot again.
It was a girl.
There was another girl in the same situation as her.
Except worse.
This girl couldn't heal herself.
Her whole shoulder was crooked.
It looked painful.
Excruciatingly painful.
The other girl stared at Ace.
She glanced upwards.
Ace followed her gaze.
An open window.
High up.
Leading outside the warehouse.
Ace surpressed a scoff.
How fitting.
Just like those spy movies Taver likes.
Ace turned back to the girl.
The girl was looking somewhere else.
Ace followed her gaze.
Six men.
Sitting in a circle.
With a deck of cards.
Ace guessed poker.
She recognized two of them.
The one that electrocuted her.
The one that healed the other.
Anger swelled inside her chest.
She wanted to hurt them.
Hurt them like they hurt her.
Or at least the electric one.
She hated him.
She hated how his jaw was back in one piece.
Ace looked back at the other girl.
She was staring at Ace.
She glanced at the high window again.
Her gaze was intense.
Ace understood.
Of course the girl wanted to escape.
Ace did too.
But was Ace willing to sacrifice her escape for this girls?
If it meant being able to beat the electric man-
She would gladly help the strange girl.
Ace began to strain against the zip tie on her wrists.
They bit into her skin.
Splitting the skin.
At least it was a clean split.
It would heal faster.
The other girl watched in awe.
The zip tie cut into Ace's wrists.
They cut deep.
Ace gritted her teeth.
It hurt.
Not as much as she would hurt the s.
She would hurt them.
She knew it.
The zip tie snapped.
The two girls froze.
They stared at the men in horror.
Did they hear?
The men didn't make any new movements.
They just continued their game.
Ace let out a silent breath of relief.
She quietly stood and helped the girl up.
The girl ground her teeth in pain.
And jumped.
Ace watched in surprise.
The girl sailed through the air.
Landing precariously on the edge of the window.
Almost losing her balance.
Grabbed the bottom ledge.
Her hands still ziptied.
She looked back at Ace.
She nodded.
