After Tomorrow
Description
Nineteen years ago in Seoul, South Korea, my mom gave birth to a young girl who she named Jin Ae Lee. A year after that, my dad and mom came to America for a fresh start in life. They chose sunny LA, California. Eight years ago, she loved me. Eight years ago, I was her precious daughter. Now?
I’m the girl that killed her husband.
I stopped going by Jin Ae eight years ago. I started going by Jenny. My mom, she still took care of me, but she stopped loving me.
And finally, I got sick of it.
Sick of her grief and how she held a grudge.
And I went to Seoul, South Korea, my dad’s home. He loved Korea. He was torn apart when he and mom moved to America, but to make mom happy, he left. That’s what mom told me eight years ago. She told me everything eight years ago, before the accident.
I never meant to hurt anyone.
Seoul. Seoul is where I start anew. Where I start with nothing.
My name is Jenny Lee and I’m here to tell you about my journey.
Foreword
She hates me, so what's the point of staying in sunny LA? I'm only making her cry more and more every night.
"I'm sorry mom. I love you." I whispered before stepping out into the cool LA night.
I headed towards the airport, ready to see the world from dad's eyes.
