Donghae let out a contented sigh and smiled softly to himself. His mind very slowly left his dream world and came back to reality, but he was far away from opening his eyes. It was cozy and warm in his bed, soft and nice. He could faintly hear the rain pattering against the windows and immediately decided that this would be a good day to stay in bed for a few more hours even though he knew that this wouldn’t be possible.

Where were they again? Shanghai, right?
Well, if he remembered it right they would fly back to Korea in the afternoon so maybe he really could stay in bed much longer. And that really was the only thing he wished for in that moment.

He snuggled his cheek into to his pillow and found himself frowning however as he noticed that it was harder than he was used to it. An idle hand was lifted up by him and he brought it close to where his head was resting. What he felt was warm and indeed harder than a normal pillow. Donghae frowned a bit more and let his hand over it a little until he noticed one important fact: his pillow was moving. It was just a very small movement, up and down in a never-ending calm pattern and it made his head move a tiny bit every time.

'What a weird pillow…'

With his hazy mind he wasn’t able to think properly and therefore he found it extremely weird to suddenly feel something on his head. He couldn’t tell what it was and in that moment he didn’t care about it either. It felt nice, that was the only thing he knew and-
Were those fingertips he felt on his forehead?

Yes, definitely. Somebody was brushing over his skin, maybe pushing some strands of hair out of his face. He felt how they were tucked back behind his ear and couldn’t help but to feel extremely loved by just this little action. The other's fingers stayed close to his face, he felt the back of them caressing his cheek not much later.

Who was this?

Donghae tried to remember who he had been willing to share a room with the day before.
His mind flew back to their concert, to Eunhyuk and his smoking hot body he had showed off whenever they had changed their clothes backstage, to the rehearsal, to silly grins and subtle touches, the practice they had spent the whole night with after arriving, to the drive from the hotel to the stadium, from there to the room he was currently in and to the difficult decision of who was worthy enough to share a room with Ryeowook. The younger had wanted him, if he remembered it right. But Ryeowook wouldn’t touch him like this.

Wait, there had been someone else asking him first, right?

There was another hand on his back he only became aware of as it moved. He felt it gently stoking him underneath the blanket and it made him letting out another sigh. This was nice, more than nice and he wanted to be woken up like this every morning. Was this even an attempt to wake him up or rather one to make him fall back asleep? He couldn’t tell, he only knew that he wanted to stay in bed much, much longer.

Donghae snuggled up more to his weirdly behaving pillow and rather felt than heard the other chuckle. So he was resting his head on the other's chest? Well, that at least explained why his pillow wasn’t that soft to begin with.

"Feeling comfortable?" he heard the other whisper and let out a soft hum in response. He heard him chuckling again and only seconds after that he thought he felt the other pecking the top of his head.

Okay, who was this?
There were only a few members that he trusted to do something like this. Leeteuk maybe. Siwon. Heechul only when his maternal feelings got too strong again. Well, his mother and brother would most likely do it too, but they weren’t here. Donghae was curious – and at the same time way too lazy to open his eyes to see who it was.

The ringing of a phone cut through the darkness around him and only two seconds later it was quiet again. He heard the other fumbling with his phone and assumed that he either turned it off or mute; both was fine with him. That ringtone however had sounded familiar.
Wait a minute, wasn’t that-

Donghae's eyes shot open and he quickly lifted his head to look at the other. What he saw was a fondly smiling Eunhyuk who just dropped his phone back on the nightstand while only looking at him.

"Good morning", the raven head greeted him silently. "Did you sleep well?"

The younger gaped at him with a good amount of shock in his eyes. His gaze dropped to the other's body and he noticed how he clung to him like he had done it back then, noticed how close they actually were and that Eunhyuk was way calmer than him. His gaze then flitted over to the other empty bed and because he knew that he had chosen the left one the day before, he was at least certain that he hadn't sleepwalked, thank God. Which by the way made him come to another conclusion.

"What are you doing in my bed?" the brunet deadpanned. Eunhyuk smirked and patted his back a bit.

"I felt lonely last night", he stated. Donghae still stared at him in disbelief.

"But that's… That's my job."

"What, feeling lonely?"

"No, sneaking into somebody else's bed at night."

The other laughed. "Well, sometimes you have to try out new things, I guess… Or do you want me to leave?"

This question reminded Donghae of the last time the elder had asked him this. His gaze dropped, still his answer stayed the same. "No, of course not."

Eunhyuk's smile stopped him from thinking more about that night, it kind of swept his mind blank as soon as he looked back up again. He stared at it like he was in trance and as the other lifted his hand to once again tuck his hair behind his ear, he seriously wondered if he was dreaming. Their faces were still pretty close to each other and there was nothing he wanted more than to lean in and to kiss him, again and again. And it seemed like what Eunhyuk had in mind wasn’t that much different.

The raven head threaded his fingers through the younger's locks and looked at him like he was the dearest person in his life – and that really was what Donghae was to him. "What would you say to sleeping a bit more like this?" he asked in a whisper and with that made the brunet nod his head. He hummed silently and gave in as Eunhyuk softly pushed his head back to his chest. Donghae felt the other sighing and even without seeing it, he was sure that he was still smiling.

That was the reason why Donghae smiled as well, brushed his fingertips over the fabric of the other's shirt and despite being sleepy, he wouldn’t close his eyes again, not even for a second. Eunhyuk kept caressing his head and as Donghae slightly shifted, he pressed a soft peck against his forehead. Donghae's heart skipped a beat and he couldn’t help but to grin broadly.

He wondered where this sudden change of Eunhyuk's behavior came from and why he was suddenly like this when he had been pushing him away all this time. Had he been dreaming about something, maybe? Or had he remembered what he had told him and finally started listening to his heart?
Donghae didn’t know, but maybe it was better to not know the reason. To be honest, he didn’t care much about the reason to begin with. All he knew was that Eunhyuk was here now and that the other had been the one making the first step – and if this was a dream then he at least wanted to cherish it.

Slowly lifting his head, he saw that Eunhyuk was still smiling fondly at him and even though cuddling with him like this was what he wanted, there was one thing he wanted more.

There was a short moment of hesitation in which he wondered if what he wanted to do was too much or if he should rather hold himself back for the sake of both of them. But his heart was still racing and it sent so many endorphins through his body that there were no doubts left. Donghae r

Merci Authornim
