Ch. 11 Sorry Sungjongie, Sorry Hoya Ahjusshi

    * Beep...Beep...Beep...Beep…*

With each breath Myungsoo took, his nerves became more and more unstable as he stared intently at the unconscious boy before him. He watched his lover's chest move rhythmically up and down. The beeping stopped and picked up again.

    *Beep...beep...beep...beep...beep*

“YEOBO! STOP STOP STOP YOU'RE RUNNING THE VAN ONTO THE CURB!!!” Woohyun Umma yelled as he turned his head to the back window of the bus wagon.

“Don’t worry Jigayah! I’ve got it under control” Sunggyu cooed at his wife, “ The beepers I installed in the van works like a charm.”

“You sir, need a siren to warn people, not beepers..” Hoya chuckled at his old friend’s confidence.

The beepers were there to warn other people that an elderly was driving the vehicle. Woohyun and company felt a rough bump after the old vampire boasted of this function and backed onto the curb and onto the sidewalk. Sunggyu pushed the gear from “reverse” to “drive” mode, and the vehicle slammed back down to the road. Woohyun gripped onto his seatbelt as his husband pressed down on the gas pedal. The vehicle roared loudly as the tires rolled in place. The back tires seemed to have gotten stuck on something. Hoya didn’t stop himself from emitting a loud “so done with it” groan in the back.

“MYUNGSOO! STOP GOOGLY EYEING AT SUNGYEOL! HE’S JUST TAKING A NAP AND GO HELP HOYA AHJUSSHI PUSH THE VAN OUT OF THE DITCH!” Woohyun snapped at his delusional and overly dramatic son.

“Yes...Umma…” Myungsoo replied dejectedly not wanting to depart from his sleeping beauty.

On the count of three, Hoya and Myungsoo began pushing the of the vehicle while Sunggyu stepped on the gas pedal.Hoya took a finger to jab and sneer at the “Baby on Board” sticker on the window before replacing a hand over it to push the van. The former tiger hunter sarcastically eyed the boy beside him, still bitter over the damages the boy had done to his precious “Violet”. The back tires were sputtering in the muddy ditch they had landed on and Myungsoo and Hoya were having trouble moving the vehicle.

“Myungsoo-ya! Don’t be lazy!” Hoya said, annoyed that the kid didn’t use his full strength. Myungsoo pouted and placed a foot on the bumper of the bus wagon and casually pushed it out of the ditch.

“Stupid kid,” Hoya muttered. “I didn’t even need to do this in the first place.”

After Myungsoo’s scandalous blunder, the family decided that marriage was the best solution for the scandalous young teenagers. After all, Sunggyu held the clan’s reputation in his hands, so he couldn’t risk any of their relatives finding out that his precious son committed the dirty-dirty that would potentially tarnish the family’s name. Today, the family decided they needed to go to town to buy the necessities for Myungsoo and Sungyeol’s wedding. Hoya had no choice but to tag along by Gyu’s request to accompany the elder, but it was okay since he was to meet up with Dongwoo in the market later too. The hunter had his own special plans.

Sunggyu made a sudden stop, parking on the side of the local tavern.

“Yeobo, why are we stopping here? This isn’t the wedding supply shop.” Woohyun questioned the old man.

“Ahh you see, I have some business to attend with Old Palryongie. He ordered a big shipment of ginseng for his bar, and you know how much this wedding would cost us! It wouldn’t hurt to make a couple extra bags of gold coins now, baby!” Sunggyu reasoned. From the back, Hoya made a face and rolled his eyes at the geezer’s lame attempt to convince Woohyun. In truth, the old vampire was just itching to flirt with the barmaids again. Sure he would be selling ginseng in the process, but it was not nearly as much as he bragged about to his wife.

“But...but Yeobo! What about our son’s wedding plans? You..you can’t just leave me to buy things on my own!”

“Don’t worry baby, I leave Hoya with you. He can help!”

“Ugh…YAH! I NEVER AGREED TO THIS.” Hoya groaned again from the back seat getting more belligerent by the minute.

    “But...but...Yeobo!”

“Shhhh...shhhh...shhhh hussssh my precious.” Sunggyu greasily placed a clammy finger on Woohyun’s lips trying to silence him. “I’ll be with you shortly! Now off you go! It will be our son’s important day so we can’t make it shabby!”

The vampire opened the back of the vehicle to fetch a satchel of ginseng. He flung it over his back and and handed the keys to Woohyun. Woohyun umma took over the drivers seat and drove off in the direction of the wedding shop. Woohyun thought they’d cover more ground if they split up to find the necessary items. After Hoya booked the reception for Myungsoo and Sungyeol, he silently slipped away after his task and started in the direction of Lady Jang’s apothecary. He had already planned a super special date with Dongwoo, made reservations at the most fanciest restaurant in town, and he wasn’t going to miss it.

Myungsoo held onto Sungyeol’s hand lovingly, guiding him towards the nice shops, pointing out all the pretty items that he thought they should buy. Sungyeol put on a default face, but he didn’t mind the vampire’s clinginess, for he was used to it by now, and he just woke up from his nap so he didn’t really care much to push away his clingy fiance. Myungsoo smiled sweetly at Sungyeol as he pulled him over to to the cake shop.

“Look! Look Sungyeol, CAKES!” Myungsoo pointed out at all the pretty cake display samples, his eyes lighting up.

“Wow, prettyyy…” Sungyeol said in agreement.

“They even have black ones Sungyeolie! Can we get black!?”

“MYUNGSOO! WE ARE NOT GETTING A BLACK CAKE FOR OUR WEDDING!”

“Awww…plwease...black is the new ‘chic’ nowadays! All the cool kids get black cakes!”

    “No they don’t!”

“Can we get blood velvet cake then?”

“Does the shop even make that?”

“Oh yeah…..well, if they don’t then Woohyun umma will have to make it.”

Even though Sungyeol said no, he couldn’t help but melt a little inside when he saw Myungsoo pout. There was something hypnotising about the way looked at him whenever he begged for something.

From around the corner window of the shop, a petite figure dressed in lemon yellow stood seething in jealousy and rage. The “good” fairy gripped at his wand bitterly as he glared at the young couple moved from cake to cake, picking out cute little figurines that go on top of the cake. “Lemon! Pick the lemon cake!” Sungjong’s other hand gripped so hard on the other side of the window that part of the paint chipped off. In a fit of jealousy, Sungjong had already formulated another idea as he watched the couple advance to the wine selections.

Wine…” Sungjong hissed venomously under his breath.

Sungyeol excused himself to go to the restroom and left his fiance at the wine aisle.

“Wait! Sungyeollie, let me go with you!” Myungsoo called after him, raising a hand in the air.

Sungyeol threw a death glare and Myungsoo and the latter’s hand dropped down slowly before he smiled sheepishly. Myungsoo’s eyes lit up in wonder looking around the beautiful wedding supply shop. Everything was really beautiful, and it was a dream come true to be shopping for his wedding with the love of his life. All his life, he could only dream of this moment, but it was now really happening right before his kitty eyes. He never would’ve thought he’d have a chance with Sungyeol (and he almost didn’t) let alone marry him. The vampire always watched from afar, admiring the human in the pains of love sickness, but now Sungyeol was his and will soon be officially his forever. For-eeeevvverr.

The young vampire didn’t notice that he’d wandered off outside the store while was walking idly and daydreaming about his future with Sungyeol. He found himself in some back alley of some random shop. He was about to make his way back until something caught his eyes.

“Wedding bands! Come and get your enchanted wedding bands! A special deal only for today! Buy a pair for half the price! Any lovers who bear these bands are promised happiness for all eternity! Come, come get your enchanted wedding bands now!” A lovely figure dressed in a sweet pastel yellow called out. “You there!” come, come you look like a soon to be groom! Are you interested in purchasing some enchanted wedding bands?”

“Me?” Myungsoo points to himself, checking left and right to see if there was anyone else that the jewelry seller meant to call out.

“You, yes you!” The fairy pointed at him. “Come come I’ll give you a special deal!”

Myungsoo approached the seller skeptically before jumping up in protest. “I REMEMBER YOU! YOU were the person who sold me those flowers that got me in trouble!”

“Oh Shush, I don’t know what you’re talking about! Have we met?”

“No I remember it’s you!”

“No no you must be mistaken.” Sungjong waved his hand in denial. “ ANYWAYS, I’m giving you a special you can’t refuse. I’ll even give you an extra bottle of delicious wine for freeeeeee. The wine  is a family recipe...it’s bound to boost you and your lover’s happiness paired with the rings!”

Myungsoo eyed the seller skeptically and was about to turn away until he saw the pretty wedding bands on the table. They were sparkling brightly, and he couldn’t help but be drawn to the beautiful designs, plus they look like designer brand items. They would look so gorgeous on Sungyeol’s pretty little fingers. Plus, the bands came with free wine; Woohyun Umma always taught him that purchases that came with free things were always good purchases.

Before Myungsoo could thoroughly pick out his wedding ring, the seller reached out to pour him a sample of wine.

“Here you go! I am an honestly salesman you see, so I’ll prove to you that my products are of the highest quality. Here try a sample of the wine!”

“It wouldn’t hurt to try some wine,” Myungsoo thought, after all Woohyun Umma wasn’t here to stop him, and he had always wanted to try the wine, but Appa and Hoya Ahjusshi never let him since he was still a minor.

Sungjong’s lips curved into a sinister smile that barely came through the sweet facade he held as he watched the handsome vampire sip on the free wine. A small sip became a bigger sip and Myungsoo eventually emptied the whole glass into his throat. Sungjong had enchanted the wine, and he could see it  slowly working its way into the youthful vampire’s system. The wine was indeed a secret family recipe; it was his family’s secret love potion recipe, and the teenage vampire will soon fall under the fairy’s spell. Soon, Myungsoo will be his, not some stupid Sungyeol kid that looked moody all the time. He smiled as Myungsoo started staggering and falling towards the cold hard pavement, losing his consciousness, but Sungjong perfectly caught him before he touched the ground,. Oops. The potion is working like a charm, and when Myungsoo wakes up, Sungjong will make sure that the first thing Myungsoo sees is the loveliest, the greatest, and most beautiful Sungjong.

“Myungsoo? Yah, where are you?” Sungyeol called out into the wedding shop after he was done with his business. He searched in the cake section, the wine section, but no avail. He asked one of the shop attendants and she said that the man dressed in black exited the shop a little while ago. Sungyeol ran outside only to spot Woohyun soon-to-be-umma-in-law walking towards the shop.

When Woohyun had met up with Sungyeol he was grief stricken by the news of Myungsoo’s disappearance. They went searching for the vampire on every block. Sungyeol was scared, really scared because his fiance’s mother was driving soccer mom style at 65 miles per hour in a residential street that posted a speed limit of 25 in school zone. Sungyeol absolutely didn’t know where the heck where they were going, but Woohyun turned every corner with confidence, the confidence that he had in his sense of smell.

    “Uhh...Woohyun-umma-nim...please slow down…”

“SLOW DOWN?! SLOW DOWN?! MY BABY IS MISSING!” Woohyun yells pressing on the gas. “ WE NEED TO GO FETCH HOYA! I CAN’T HAVE MY BABY BE OUT THERE IN THE WILD STREETS! WHO KNOWS WHAT KINDS OF WEIRDOS ARE LURKING AT THIS HOUR!”

“...I’m sure Myungsoo is old enough to defend himself.”

“NO, NO HE’S NOT! HE’S MY BABY! THE STREETS ARE WILD AND DANGEROUS…” Woohyun calls out tearfully.

“Yes...and he had insanely inhuman super strength…and very sharp teeth...”

With that Woohyun’s foot pressed harder on the gas as he drove over some more speed bumps ignoring any reasoning that Sungyeol could come up with, while Sungyeol gripped on the seat belt holding onto his dear life.

With his heart resting on a cloud, Hoya smiled sweetly at the angel sitting opposite of him. Dongwoo was eating his steak dinner gracefully like a dinosaur. Hoya helped Dongwoo close up the apothecary shop before the two headed for their dinner date. In the past few days, he had been burdened with Gyu and his family (especially that Myungsoo) so he didn’t spend as much time as he wanted to with his love. In those times, Hoya realized that Dongwoo’s existence was much more precious to him than anything; even more precious than “Violet”. The fairest lady of the woodlands was the only thing that had kept him sane in his cursed life with the Kims.

The night was close to perfect, beginning when Hoya helped Dongwoo close up the shop before taking a nice romantic stroll down the streets as they headed for the most famous restaurant in town. It had cost Hoya two extermination deals to reserve a spot at the restaurant. Hoya thought deeply at what he was about to do and realized that he’d finally gotten over his commitment issue (the commitment issue that developed from his past marriage).

Life hasn’t been too good on Hoya. Actually, it has been terrible, but when he found that his troubles seemed to float away like the sun clearing up a cloudy day, he knew that Dongwoo was the one. His heart felt at ease when he was in the presence of the witch doctor. Dongwoo was his sanity pill. Dongwoo was the one who kept his blood pressure down when Myungsoo and his father pissed the hunter off. Hoya stuck a hand in his pockets, nervously digging for a velvet box. Yes, he was going to do it tonight; he was finally going to pop the question. He specially asked for the miniature strings ensemble to play romantic background music in the restaurant.

“Dongwoo-shii...you know we’ve been together for almost more than a decade...and...you already know my feelings for you right?...And now I just need to ask you one thing...”  Hoya observed the little candles placed on the table and swirled his wine glass.

    “Yes Howonnie, I’m listening.”

Hoya took both of Dongwoo’s hands into his.

“Please call me Hoya. For you, it’s Hoya...for my enemies...it is The Lee Howon,” he whispered with a smirk.

“Yes Hoya.” Dongwoo said softly listening to every word that the loving hunter said.

“Dongwoo...I would love to spend all eternity with you, so… Jang Dongwoo, my Lady Jang, would you...ma...marr_______”

*SLAM* The oaken doors of the restaurant opened abruptly letting in a strong wind that flowed from the outside in. A masculine figure stood at the doors shocking all the patrons at their tables as he whipped his head left and right looking for someone. Everyone at the tables had their eyes on this spectacle.

“HOYA-SHI! MY PRECIOUS MINGTHOO AEGI MY PRECIOUS MYUNGSOO HAS GONE MISSING!” Woohyun voice rang out in panic as he yelled across the room to where he spotted Hoya.

Hoya’s face slowly turned red and he clenched his fists until his knuckles were white. One eye twitched profusely, Hoya could feel a vein popping. “OH FOR THE LOVE OF!!!!! UUUGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!” Hoya painfully yelled from the top of his lungs, both hands gripping to his hair in frustration. “I’VE HAD IT! I’VE HAD IT WITH ALL OF YOU!!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHH!”

In a fit of rage, Hoya picked up the restaurant chair, lifted the polished piece of furniture over his head and smashed it on to the floor. The chair broke into pieces. The other patrons that occupied the restaurant could only gawk at them in silence, too fearful to make a sound. Some even dashed for the door.

“WHY? WHY?! WHY CAN’T YOU PEOPLE LEAVE ME ALONE JUST FOR ONE DAY! ONE DAY!!!” Hoya let his anger out. His voice however, was trying to restrain his anger, so he spoke in a low and rushed voice, speaking everything he had to say in one breath, “Sometimes I really wish that Kim Freaking Sunggyu left me to die!! so I would have never ever have to respond when ‘duty calls’,” he sarcastically exaggerated his face at the last two words. “I could’ve had a very very normal life, but instead, I’m indebted to some OLD GEEZER!” As he screamed the last word with bits of flying spit into Woohyun’s face, some of the restaurant customers looked at him weirdly. Dongwoo would do nothing but stand by Hoya’s side, holding onto his arm.

“KIM MYUNGSOO WHERE THE EFFING HELL ARE YOU?!” Hoya ran out of the restaurant doors, with Woohyun trailing behind him.

“Oohh, my aegi, Hoya thank you so much!” Woohyun worried.

Poor Lady Jang stood there at the chaos, not knowing what to do. He bowed politely at the other patrons and apologized before following behind Woohyun.

Sungjong dragged Myungsoo by the armpits home, stopping every so often to catch his breath. He didn’t think the vampire would be this heavy. The vampire was still unconscious so he lay him down in the very well furnished livingroom of his fairy cottage. The fairy was feeling nervous. All this time, he stood behind the scenes in waiting, waiting for the very moment for Myungsoo to be his, and soon just within a few hours, a few minutes, Myungsoo will be really his. Sungjong preened himself in the magic mirror (temporarily turned off, of course) to prepare himself when Myungsoo would wake up.

Phhfffsshhhhssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhssssssssssssss

The kettle of boiling water hissed in the kitchen. “Aisshh!” I forgot about the tea.” Sungjong dashed into the kitchen, throwing the mirror on Myungsoo’s chest.

Myungsoo woke up in a haze. His vision was blurred and everything that he saw around the room had a rose colored tint to it. His chest was warm and fuzzy, so he rubbed it only to find a shiny object on his chest.

OOooOOoohhh shiny~ He picked up this shiny object. “Mirror?” He asked himself. “Mirror.” He assured himself after coming to terms to what it was in the midst of his clouded head. The mirror lit up and a screen appeared followed by some text. Extremely curious, Myungsoo ran his finger over the glass.

“Request submitted. AUTOMATICALLY...Redirecting to... Choice D is what you seek. Searching for fairest of them all. Please stand by while content loads,” the mirror prompted. A picture of Sungyeol appeared.

“Yeollie!” Myungsoo squealed in overjoyed happiness as if he hadn’t seen Sungyeol in forever.” Still in a haze, Myungsoo hugged the mirror and brought it to his face, rubbing his cheek on Sungyeol’s face in the object, and smiling cutely showing his two white fangs. “Mingthoo loves Stthungyeolieee.” The vampire whispers lovingly to the image of his love in his drunken state. “I luvb you so much yeolliee~hehehehe--hic”.

Sungjong dropped his tea set. The cups shattered down to the floor almost in slow motion as the fairy’s face showed nothing but astonishment and his lips soon turned into a deep frown. His chance to be the fairest of them all shattered before his eyes as he saw Myungsoo caressing the reflection projected in the enchanted mirror lovingly. The image was all too familiar to him.

"NO! NO! NO! No! No!" Sungjong stomped his feet as he stomped over to Myungsoo who was sheepishly smirking at the reflection of that moody brat Sungyeol. On top of it all, the love of Sungjong’s life was now hugging and smothering the magic mirror as if it were Sungyeol himself.

"Why, why do you have to love that moody brat Sungyeol? Why can’t it be meeeee... WHY!!!? WHY IS IT NOT ME?!!”

Sungjong soon caught Myungsoo’s attention, for the vampire turned his head curiously towards the doorway at the fuming fairy. The latter’s loud outcry snapped Myungsoo out of his trance. He stared at the smaller figure sympathetically. Sungjong came closer to Myungsoo, demanding answers from the teen.

The lemon candy fairy placed his hands gently on either side of Myungsoo’s cheeks and whispered, “Tell...tell me, Aren’t I pretty too?”

“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……”

“TELL ME!”

Myungsoo flinched. “Um...sure...I’m sure you are pretty...in some ways...probably to some people…”. Myungsoo nervously rubbed the back of his neck, petting the crying fairy on the head with a free hand, feeling sorry for the other boy who now had his face in his hands. He didn’t want to hurt his feelings, but really, Myungsoo barely knew him. However, Sungjong did seem like a pretty funny creature that Myungsoo wouldn’t mind befriending if he had any time away from stalking Sungyeol.

“If it makes you feel any better….I’m sure you’re the prettiest of this house…” Myungsoo said awkwardly and distractedly, flipping through the mirror like a touchscreen trying to find a good answer. He flipped through the item that said the “Fairest of the House” and saw someone that he thought looked a lot like Sungjong.

“See! Told you! Prettiest in the house!”

“That’s my UMMA. MY MOM!”

“Oh...but um...maybe you’re still pretty?”

“Pretty in what way?“ Sungjong pressed on, making the vampire feel more nervous at the interrogation.

“Uuhhhhhhhhhhh…………………………………………………..”  Myungsoo mouth hung open.

The crickets creaked sounded louder in their ears filling in the empty silence between them, as Myungsoo cracked his brains out trying to come up with an answer for Sungjong. He truly felt bad that he couldn’t give a straight answer. He was sure Sungjong is pretty, a pretty friend.

The crickets sounded louder in their ears as the sound filled the empty silence between them. Myungsoo cracked his brains out trying to come up with an answer for Sungjong. He truly felt bad that he couldn’t give a straight answer. He was sure that Sungjong was pretty, a pretty friend.

“Um...well anyways, so...isn’t the weather nice tonight? The sky is really clear and when the sky is clear the moon shines really bright. I have an Ahjusshi who uses to go tiger hunting at night, and he as a really big gun that he almost  pointed at me that one time, but too bad there weren’t much tigers in the woods since Woohyun Umma scares them away...but Hojusshi doesn’t know about that yet, so don’t tell him. Oh are you hungry? I’m hungry!” Myungsoo rambles on and on trying to break the silence and change the topic.

Soon, Myungsoo’s rambling seemed to faded into the air and there was still an unbearably awkward silence between them. Myungsoo decided to take a seat somewhere else in Sungjong’s living room as the fairy took back the mirror and questionably began to interrogate the enchanted object again, leaving Myungsoo sitting in a corner.

Sungjong couldn’t throw his tantrum for long. The front doors broke down in a shock, and he saw two familiar faces he had seen in the magic mirror. Woohyun and Sungyeol appeared at the entrance with a man who he assumed was Hoya trailed behind. Woohyun’s brute strength had managed to crack his mahogany door into two.

"YOUUU, HOW DARE YOU KIDNAP MY PRECIOUS SON!" Woohyun pointed a stubby finger at the fairy.

"Fairy Godmother! It's you!" Sungyeol piped in from behind Woohyun. "Woohyun umma nim, I'm sure Fairy Godmother has a perfectly reasonable explanation for all this, please calm down.” Sungyeol tried to ease Woohyun’s anger before turning to Sungjong. He truly believed that Fairy Godmother didn’t mean harm. At least, it didn’t look like it and fairy godmothers aren’t supposed to do that right?

"You do have a good explanation...right Fairy Godmother?" Sungyeol stared at Sungjong innocently (causing the fairy to want to cringe at his naivety) with anticipation.

“Umma! Sungyeolie!” Myungsoo perked up from his spot. He was glad to see them again for he wouldn’t know how to get back home had they not came to the rescue. Myungsoo figured Woohyun umma was mad since his canine teeth were showing. “It’s okay umma, Sungjong and I became good friends, and since he’s Yeollie’s Fairy Godmother, that almost makes him my Fairy Godmother too...Fairy Godmother in-law!”

My Fairy Godmother too.. My.Fairy Godmother too..My Fairy Godmother too….Fairy Godmother...too..too...Fairy...God...mother….too...too...too…Fairy Godmother in-laaawwwwwwwwwwwwww…….

The vampire’s voice echoed through the fairy’s dainty little head. Not only had he been friendzoned by Myungsoo, but thanks to that moody Sungyeol’s big mouth about their connection, he had been MOM-ZONED, no, MOM-IN-LAW-ZONED too.

After Myungsoo’s statement of “fairy godmother in law”, Hoya had picked him up by the scruff of his shirt and dragged him out the doors.

“UGGGHHH!!! I HATE YOU!!! I HATE ALL OF YOUUU!!!!! GET OUT! GET OUT NOW!!!” Sungjong yelled, pushing out Woohyun and Sungyeol.

“B...But Fairy Godmother why are you angry? My mom always said pretty people shouldn’t make angry faces...that makes you ugly. We’re sorry we barged in and broke your door.” Sungyeol said.

“P...pretty…? You...you... think I’m pretty?” Sungjong stopped abruptly, uttering out the words that seem to have cursed him all his life.

“Yes! You are very pretty so don’t worry about it,” Sungyeol said reassuringly despite his moody demeanor, the fairest of them all meant every word he said.

“Oooh!” Sungjong placed a hand on his mouth in shock. He couldn’t believe the person he had hated most had said those words to him, and so sincerely too.

“Am pretty too right Sungyeolie!??” Myungsoo poked his head back in the house and made his way over to Sungyeol.

“Yah, get back in the car!” Hoya yelled from the distance.

“No, not you. Get out.” Sungyeol said flatly, “Stop breathing on me!”

“B….but Sungyeolie,” Myungsoo pouted lip trembling, “I missed you so much while I was gone.”

“I KEPT YOU FOR TWO HOURS. YOU GUYS DISGUST ME,” Sungjong burst and stormed off into his room.

Sungyeol snapped at his whiney fiancee. However, he did allow the vampire to hold him tightly and bury his face into Sungyeol’s back. Myungsoo happily nuzzled his nose between Sungyeol’s shoulder blades, sniffing in his scent. Sungyeol oddly felt the vampire was strangely being clingier than before, not realizing that it was the results of Sungjong’s love potion.

The ride back home was silent. Not really. Not at all. Woohyun umma kept on talking and talking and talking and scolding Myungsoo about his actions.

“Myungsoo-yah! I really, realllllly don’t understand how you can be so gullible and listen to rannndom strangers on the street like that? What did umma tell you about talking to strangers! Do not talk to strangers Myungsoo, especially when they are trying to sell you cheap products in shady alleyways! I can’t believe how much you act just like your father, I mean, I love him and all that but….”

Woohyun’s voice droned on and on and on and he wouldn’t shut up because he was saying the same thing again and again and again, but Myungsoo wasn’t listening. The love struck boy was staring at Sungyeol with googly eyes, his hands and fingers and giggling at them for no reason. Sungyeol was a little creeped out at the sudden level of affection, but he found it secretly endearing. Meanwhile, Hoya ahjusshi sat in the very back with Lady Jang, annoyed, his face dramatically mocking Woohyun.

Woohyun was still blabbing when he dropped off Hoya, Dongwoo, and Sungyeol down the street before making his way home with Myungsoo. Myungsoo had half of his body perched out of the van’s window as he held his hands to hold Sungyeol’s.

“My love, have sweet dreams, dream of me, I’ll be back for you tomorrow.” Myungsoo whispered lamely.

“You mean you’ll be back in a couple hours in my tree?”

Myungsoo winked with both eyes (it was supposed to be one eye) and smirked.

Woohyun stepped on the gas pedal and threw Myungsoo off balance.

Sungyeol waved at the receding vehicle.“Bye umma-nim! See you, Myungsoo-shii!”

He went into his house and started for the shower immediately knowing that he would less likely find Myungsoo in his shower since the kid just drove off with his umma.

________________________________________________________________

More awkward silence ensued with Hoya and Dongwoo. The two stood outside of Hoya’s house in the cool evening breeze in utter silence before Dongwoo suggested they go inside.

Hoya stopped him at the door, “Wait, I have something to say.”

“Hmn? Yes, Hoya?”

“I’m really sorry for what happened today. I- I really tried to make this night perfect and special for us, but I’m sorry, I-”

Dongwoo gave him a big, bright shining smile, “Hoya, don’t worry about it. It’s okay, if duty calls, then duty calls!” He chuckled, but gasped as Hoya dropped down to one knee.

“Jang Dongwoo...although it may seem that I don’t deserve your smile, how you put up with my issues, just you...will you---will you marry me?”

Dongwoo didn’t say anything yet. He just let out a very overjoyed laugh and wrapped his arms tightly around Hoya’s neck before saying “yes”.

Ecstatic, Hoya slipped the ring on Dongwoo’s fingers and he found himself smiling from ear to ear with a warm bursting feeling in his heart, something he hasn’t felt for years. He picked up Dongwoo and carried him inside the house.

“Ahh, one thing though.” Dongwoo was genuinely curious. “What is it with the whole fiasco of you having a “bond” with Sunggyu and Myungsoo? I can’t have my husband running off all day…” Dongwoo chuckled and playfully asked Hoya.

“That...I’ll explain it to you soon...it’s complicated. Really complicated. But everything’s okay now because I have you.” He smiled once more..

_______________________________________________________________

“Appa! Apppaaaa~! It’s time for my bedtime story! Aapp-pppaaaa!” Myungsoo called from his coffin. He called a few more times before pattering down stairs to Woohyun

“Umma, where’s appa?”

Woohyun was busying his head in a magazine. “Huh? I don’t know check the bathr-- SUNGGYU OPPA!” He turned to Myungsoo, “We forgot appa!”

Woohyun grabbed the keys that were hanging on the kitchen wall before dashing out of the front door.

A/N: Sorry if we made Sungjong seem a bit evil!
