Chapter 1
~
“Roses are red, violets are blue, my love life’s a mess and I couldn’t care less” Hana frowned at the text she just read out loud then averted her gaze to her best friend who was nodding proudly at the poem she apparently wrote for Hana.
“Aren’t I the best writer?” Kim Hyeri asked wiggling her eyebrows.
Hana rolled the paper that contained the ridiculous contents and started hitting her so called best friend. “Ah—ouch—ah!” the mischievous girl complaint trying to dodge Hana’s aimless hits.
“Yah Kim Hyeri is this only thing you came for huh?”
Hyeri laughed before she bit her lip and nodded.
“Aish!!!” Hana hissed. It’s so tempting to hit this girl sometimes she blabbered in her mind but instead of doing so Hana grabbed the rug she placed down and started wiping the counter again.
Hyeri came over the coffee shop Hana works at. It was only after the morning rush hour when she came while Hana was cleaning up the spilled coffee droplets on the counter. “You’re so annoying” Hana muttered
“Awww you’re always so sweet, Hana-sshi.”
Hana rolled her eyes.
“At least I visit you at work though. I don’t see your boyfriend around”
“He’s going to come over actually” Hana replied in triumph.
Hyeri played with the tissue box as she frowned. “Are you sure he won’t take that friend of his?” Hana stopped in her tracks before she blinked avoiding eyes with Hyeri’s as silence engulf the both of them. Hyeri looked at her best friend in pity, she was about to say something when the bells from the door jingled softly making the both girls turned their attention at the intruder.
Hana’s eyes lit up when it was met by Jungkook’s. She waved at him as he returned a smile and waved back but almost immediately Hana’s smile faltered when a familiar girl walked by his side. Hyeri was watching everything and couldn’t help but scoffed.
“Hey guys!”  The girl who was walking with Jungkook greeted as they reached the counter where Hana and Hyeri stood.
“Pfft… well I’m gonna go. I don’t need to exchange pretentious greetings here” Hyeri muttered, enough to be heard as she shuffled from the counter and headed towards the door. “Adios!” she called back before her voice was muffled when the glass door closed.
“So...!” Hana started. “Hey Yuri” she greeted at the confused girl from Hyeri’s short monologue. Yuri was sat on a stool leaning on the counter Hana just wiped. “Hey” Yuri replied and gave Hana a genuine smile; making Hana feel irked as she wanted to dislike the girl but she couldn’t. Yuri was too nice—too oblivious, Hana feel guilty to dislike her.
“Where you guys had been?” Hana asked
“Nowhere, we thought we’d visit you working” Jungkook replied as he gave you a peck on the cheek then took the empty stool next to Yuri; who let out a squeak at the skin ship Jungkook and Hana shared.
“You guys are so cute!” Yuri exclaimed unaware of the cold barrier separate the couple. Hana coughed to cover the awkward aura building up. “Do you guys want anything?”
“Ohh just green tea for me please”
“Same as her” Jungkook muttered
Hana narrowed her eyes before faking a grin at the two. “Coming right up” she turned around scribbling on the pad she had on her left hand as she entered the kitchen. Her co-worker looked up at Hana. “Is there an order?”
“Here” she handed the piece of paper from her notepad to her co-worker. Hana sighed as she looked through the small window that divides the kitchen and the café. All she could see was Jungkook and Yuri talking, something ached inside her though as the both of them were laughing.
“What could they be talking about?” Hana whispered to herself as she tilted her head, intrigued.
                                                         ~
Sunset came and that was Hana’s shift over, she was walking home, exhausted when her phone buzzed indicating a social media notification.
Hana raised her eyebrows as she read the notification; ‘Park Yuri tagged you in a photo: spent my afternoon at a lovely café with my favourite couple’ Hana clicked on the photo and saw a selca of Yuri and Jungkook at the front as the both of them point at her in the background.
Are they supposed to be the couple? Hana grumbled as she shoved her phone back to her bag.
 Chapter 2
 ~
As the sun beamed through the curtains Hana yawned and stretched her arms, letting out a soft groan. The half-asleep girl squinted before she propped on her elbows and looked around her room as if she was in a foreign place. Monday. Ugh. She grunted inwardly then collapsed back to her bed, landing on her soft mattress making her eyes shut close, digesting the day ahead for her.
School, work, home.
Repetitive but it was better than nothing. Hana works all week to save up for her dream university, it wasn’t much but she wanted to help out her parents to avoid a life time debt to the government.
After letting the time passed for a few minutes the girl finally stood up and headed towards the bathroom. She could use a long warm shower today; last night she had a race with time on which could finish first; the night or her homework.
Hana couldn’t help but laughed at herself as she brushed her teeth—racing with time. Pfft.
Once she gargled and her breathe was minty fresh she didn’t waste anymore time and headed towards the shower. She let out a sigh of relief once the warm droplets touched her body.
                                                         ~
Her peace was intruded when reality hit her. Hana’s eyes popped open and mentally slapped herself for dozing off in the shower. She dried herself quickly before putting her uniform on and ran downstairs barely grabbing her stuff for school. Her mother greeted her but soon frowned at the girl who grabbed a toast then dashed off to the door.
Hana shouted a ‘bye mum’ before she finally left the house. She gobbled the toast on her way to school. When arrived at school, she panted but smiled, patting herself on the back inwardly for not getting late.
She hurried to her first lesson which was Math. Feeling accomplished at the start of the day she sat on her assigned seat.
The teacher came soon, greeted the class and asked them to take out their homework—the homework Hana worked so hard on last night. Smiling, Hana happily grabbed her bag to get her folder out when… her palm landed on her face making a smack sound
NOOOOooOOooOOOOOOOOooo she screamed in her thoughts. She forgot to pack her folder which contained her homework. Nam Hana why are you so forgetful?!
Mr. Park frowned at the girl before scoffing and shoke his head in disbelief. “Nam Hana detention after school” he said already know why the girl acted that way at the mention of homework.
Almost immediately a student blurted: “” averting the eyes of the other students from Hana to the blonde boy at the back of the class. His eyes wide but soon broke out into a cheeky grin and waved a hand at Mr. Park “Sir” the boy nodded at the teacher. Mr. Park rolled his eyes at the cheeky boy.
“You too, after school” the teacher muttered as he turned back to his desk flipping through the pages of homework one student has done.
The blonde boy shrugged before looking out the window. Hana on the other hand narrowed her eyes at the blonde boy at the back. How is he cool of getting a detention?
She shook her head and placed her hand in the air. “Yes Hana-sshi?” Mr. Park asked not even looking up from the paper he was reading. Hana wondered how teachers do that without even looking up but dismissed her wonders and cleared .
“Sir, I have work after school and I cant be la—“
“Should’ve thought about that before showing up here without your homework”
“But I did—“
“No evidence, no guarantee that you did it.”
Hana groaned “But I really did—“
“Hana-sshi don’t push it”
The girl pursed her lips gulping the words she was about to say then leaned back to her chair, arms crossed while pouting.
                                                         ~
The bell rang after the third period. Hana rushed out of her third lesson and headed towards the cafeteria. She was starving and the constant thought of detention made her even hungrier.
“Hey!” someone shouted beside her ear making her jump, clutched her chest and almost dropping her precious food. She turned around to scold to whomever but stopped when she found it was her best friend and returned her attention on her food.
“Wow, hello to you too” Hyeri said nudging Hana who was gobbling an apple. “What’s up?” the girl asked as she placed her tray down the table and sat across from her best friend.
Hana shrugged making Hyeri frown. “Come on! Tell me”
“Detention” Hana muttered.
The girl opposite her gasped ever so dramatically, mocking her best friend. “Oh no” she even said
Hana rolled her eyes. “Well it may not be a big deal for you but I happen to have work after school”
“Duh then tell them you have work”
“Duh don’t you think I tried?”
Hyeri chewed on her food before replying; “Then tell your boss you have detention.” The girl said as if it was the most obvious answer—which it was.
Hana pouted, defeated. “I just don’t like getting detentions”
“I know” Hyeri teased pulling her tongue out.
Hana threw a ball of tissue at Hyeri when another tray was placed down their table. Both girls stopped to follow the the arms of the owner. “Hey guys” Yuri waved at the both of them. “Is it okay if I join you?”
“Well you’re already sat down we can’t really decline now” Hyeri muttered earning a kick and a glare from Hana which she cried a soft “ouch.” to.
“Of course Yuri” Hana chirped at the girl. She was quite fond of Yuri. Hyeri on the other hand rolled her eyes and groaned at how her best friend looked so pitiful and pathetic at the same time.
Their lunch contained Hana and Yuri chatting whilst Hyeri would occasionally let out a groan followed by a roll of her eyes or a sarcastic comment throughout. The bell rang again which then girls bid goodbye to each other.
                                                         ~
When the last bell came Hana knew she had to sit in silence for the next an hour and a half with the thought in mind she reluctantly dragged herself to the detention room when an arm placed itself on her shoulder. Her eyes widened and turned to her side only to be met by the blonde boy in her Math class.
“Hey detention buddy” the boy greeted wiggling his eyebrows, his face too close for her liking. Her hand made their way to his face and was about to push his face away when a familiar voice called out from behind.
“HEY!” the voice yelled making the two turn. Hana’s eyes grew bigger as she shove the boy whom still had his arm around her shoulder to her side. “Ju—Jungkook!” she blurted.
Jungkook jogged towards them as his brows furrowed and glared at the boy next to Hana. “Who’s he?” he asked nodding towards the blonde boy.
“Ah—“
“Bambam, bro!” the boy said cutting Hana off. He extended his hand for a handshake but Jungkook merely looked at it before he turned to look at his girlfriend. “Why are you with him?”
Flustered, Hana couldn’t answer right away, her words jumbled up in her mind.
“We were just on our way to detention” Bambam replied instead.
Jungkook nodded then stepped forward towards Hana. “I’ll see you later” the boy whispered as he left a peck on her forehead and gave another glare at the blonde boy then left the two in the hallway.
Bambam looked at the frozen girl beside him. “Yah” he nudged. “Yah Nam Hana” he nudged again but this time a little harder. Hana lost her trance and faced a confused Bambam.
What was that? She thought. That was the first time after Yuri arrived, Jungkook showed any concern towards her Was he jealous? The girl questioned. It almost felt foreign but she liked it. Hana continued walking towards the detention room as a small smile tugged on her lips, leaving Bambam confused in the hall way.
Chapter 3
 ~
Mr. Park left the two ‘detentionees’ to do their homework in silent as he attended a meeting. “I trust the both of you” was the last thing he said before he eyed the two and left. Half an hour in detention Hana couldn’t help but groaned while she scribbled on her paper as it became apparent to her that a certain blonde haired boy had been staring at her. She chose to try to ignore it but it had become way too uncomfortable to her liking so she snapped her head towards the boy and raised her eyebrows at him.
“What is it?” she asked, curious
The boy mirrored her action and smiled lazily at her. “What’s up with you and that Jungkook kid?”
Though the way he phrased the question irked Hana she simply smiled and thought it was best to let this one go. “None of your business”
“He seemed pretty pissed off earlier on.”
She sighed at the boy behind her as she continued her work. She didn’t response that earned a slight silent in the room but the curious boy couldn’t stopped himself; “Aren’t you two supposed to be going out?” he asked as he looked up wondering.
Hana lazily placed her pen down and started clapping. “Well done, Sherlock” she muttered sarcastically. She took this opportunity to question the boy. “Why are you so curious anyway?”
“Nothing I was just curious” he dismissed as he retreat his pen. “Rumours has it that both of you split up already.” He grumbled, scribbling on his paper. The girl’s eyes bulged before she blurted; “WHAT?”
Bambam looked up to the girl innocently. “What? You don’t know?”
“No?” she answered unsure. “Why would people assume that anyway?” she asked even though she had an idea of why would people assume so.
The boy shrugged. “I don’t know. I think it has something to do with Park Yuri coming back.” Hana’s brows furrowed. Rumour does go around like a wildfire after all, the girl simply nodded and turned back around to finish the work that was set as silence once again engulfed the room til’ the end of the hour and thirty minutes of detention. Mr. Park came later on to dismiss the two.
                                                         ~
Bambam and Hana walked side by side to the school’s gate as Bambam couldn’t help but looked at the girl beside him. He was somewhat intrigued with the girl, trying to study her features. She was beautiful, no doubt but something in her was a bit off, her eyes—her eyes seemed to glint a tinge of loneliness.
“Are you really this rude?” Hana said, breaking Bambam’s daze. The boy blinked before he cleared his throat. “What?”
“Do you always stare at people like that?” she asked and a smirk tugged on his lips. “Nope. I only stare at pretty girls” he grinned
It took Hana a couple of seconds before she processed what the boy just said then she turned to look at him with her eyes widened. “Yah!” she exclaimed and slapped his arm, harder than Bambam thought. Making him grimaced for a second before breaking out into a chuckle while Hana glared at him, flustered at his sudden bold statement.
“What? Its tru—are you blushing? Oh my god!” he clasped his hand together and teased the girl, poking her sides.
Hana on the other hand tried to dodge his pokes. “Stop it!” she scolded.
                                                         ~
Jungkook played with his phone waiting for a reply from Hana. He had sent her a text message, telling her he’s waiting by the gates to walk her home. The boy groaned, growing more worried as seconds passed. “Where is that girl?” he whispered as he checked his phone again. Still no reply. He tapped his foot against the concrete ground before he decided to stand up from the bench he was sat at and headed towards the gate to enter but stopped in his track when he finally saw Hana walking with Bambam.
His hand formed in fists as his eyebrows knitted the moment Bambam started poking Hana’s side as he .
“Stop it!” Jungkook heard
It wasn’t long til’ Hana noticed the boy standing by the entrance then her eyes lit up once again as if it was the Christmas morning. “Jungkook…” she whispered making Bambam avert his gaze to the direction she was looking at.
The two walked quietly reaching were Jungkook stood. “Hey what are you doing here?” Hana asked
“Waiting for you” he answered but his eyes focused on sending Bambam glares.
Something by the way Jungkook was looking at Bambam made Hana feel flustered and her heart raced. She felt as if she was in one of those dramas where two boys are fighting over the main girl.
“Why weren’t you answering my texts?” he questioned, this time his eyes travelled to Hana which she raised her eyebrows to. “You texted me?” she asked, cluelessly as she took out her phone on her pocket and scrolled on her phone—her eyes softened to see his countless messages since they parted after school. He must’ve been worried she thought.
“I left my phone in silent...” she mumbled earning a groan from Jungkook before he took her wrist “Ugh. Come on” he grumbled, pulling her along with him.
Hana looked back at Bambam who was looking at them blankly. She sent him a small wave before looking back to Jungkook who wore a frown on his face, his jaw tightened. She barely could catch up with his pace.
Once they’ve reached a good distance from Bambam. Jungkook’s pace slowed down as his grip on Hana’s wrist loosened; instead he interwined their fingers together.
Hana, fascinated she couldn’t take her eyes off Jungkook. “Did you miss me that much you couldn’t take your eyes off me?” the boy spoke up and looked down at her and smiled. Hana blinked before her cheeks heat up. “Pffft… No” she grumbled still confuse at Jungkook’s sudden outburst of concern.
“Are you and that blonde kid friends?”
She raised her eyebrows at his question. “No… it was the first I talk to him today, actually.”
“You must’ve got really close in detention then”
“What?”
“You seemed really comfortable to each other” he shrugged.
Hana narrowed her eyes at him. “What are you trying to imply?” she asked unsure
Jungkook sighed before he stopped in his tracks and stood in front of her. He looked at her, about to say something but hesitated for a second; “I was jealous okay.”
Her eyes bulged at his confession.
“I never felt like this before” he continued. “I didn’t like what I saw. I was jealous…” Jungkook looked down embarrassed at his confession
A small smile crept on Hana’s lips as she lifted his chin. “You know you haven’t talked to me this long in ages?” the boy raised his eyebrows at her. “I missed you” she said making the boy smiled
“Me too” he replied and pecked her lips before pulling her along with him, heading towards the café she works at.
Jungkook never left as Hana did her shift, his eyes would follow her as she served the costumers—Hana would occasionally glance towards his direction and her heart would skip a beat everytime.
                                                         ~
He waited for her til’ her shift finished and walked her home. It was 9:12 pm when the two arrived in front of her house. “Thank you” she mumbled as they reached. Jungkook simply ruffled her hair. “I’ll walk you to school tomorrow, wait for me in the morning arasso?” he said
Hana smiled in delight and nodded.
Jungkook returned a smile and nodded towards her front door. “Go in, it’s cold.”
She sighed and nodded, hoping the moment wouldn’t end. Jungkook enveloped her in his arm as he kissed the top of her head. “I love you” he whispered making her cheeks heat up once again, contrasting the cold air, underneath the starry night.
Chapter 4
  ~
Hana was sat on her study table staring out the window as she listened to her bestfriend cackle on the phone. The girl blinked in confusion on why on earth Kim Hyeri was laughing at the story she just told.
“That is the funniest thing ever!” Hyeri said, panting from laughter.
“Why?” Hana asked innocently.
“What? That wasn’t a joke?” Hyeri asked, obviously mocking her best friend.
Hana huffed; irritated, realizing her bestfriend was once again making fun of her. “Yah! Its true! Jungkook really did say he’d walk me to school tomorrow!” The girl on the other line scoffed. “Well, I’m still coming along! I’m not gonna let you be stood up by that boyfriend of yours.”
“What makes you think I’ll get stood up? He promised” Hana pouted
“One name and one name only, Park Yuri.”
At the mention of the name Hana couldn’t help but sigh. “Oh right…yeah…” she mumbled under her breath. Hyeri felt bad between the silenced line. “Hana, you know I’m your best friend right? I just don’t want you to get your hopes up. Does it really take another boy beside you to get Jungkook’s attention? Wasn’t he supposed to be always by your side anyways because you’re his girlfriend instead of that girl he grew up with?”
Hana nodded even if Hyeri couldn’t see her. She knew Hyeri was just trying to look out for her; “I know…”
“I’ll walk with you tomorrow like always. I’ll behave if ever that boyfriend of yours does not bail out on you.” Hyeri reassured, making her best friend smile. “Thanks, Riri-yah~” Hana cooed
“No problem, Nana-yah~” Hyeri replied, in the same tone as her best friend—making the both of them giggle at their given nicknames to each other.
                                                         ~
Morning arrived and the sun that had managed to peek through the curtains had been radiating its warmth on Hana’s face. Waking up from the sense of uneven temperature that touched her face, the girl yawned and stretched out her arms as a smile appeared on her profile.
She jumped off her bed and danced her way to her bathroom, ready to start her morning shenanigans. It didn’t took her long to get ready for school—humming her way downstairs her mother raised her eyebrows at her daughter.
“Morning mum!” Hana beamed as she jumped off the last step and gave her mum a peck on the cheek.
“Morning munchkin, looks like you had a goodnight” her mother, Soohyun smiled.
“I did~~~” the girl twirled in her skirt, giggling.
“I don’t know what happened but I’m happy my daughter’s in a good mood” Soohyun chuckled at her daughter’s silly mood as she swatted Hana’s hand when the girl offered her hand to dance. “Come let’s eat together” the older female urged as she lead the way in the kitchen.
“Uhm… I’m actually planning on eating in school mum, is that okay?”
Soohyun raised her eyebrows. “why?”
“I’m planning onto eating with Jungkook” the girl beamed, twirling once again. Soohyun could only roll her eyes to her daughter. “Sounds romantic” she commented, teasing her daughter.
“I know. Just every girl’s dream date” Hana agreed, playing along in her mum’s joke as they both laughed. “Well have fun in school kiddo,”
Hana slung her bag on her shoulders, “Bye mum!” she shouted at the door and left. The moment she stepped out of their front door, Hana’s eyes did not disappoint when they landed on a certain red haired boy in uniform, bobbing his head whilst he listened to his music on his earphones.
She ran to his side and poked his cheeks, gaining his attention, the boy smiled at her as he took his earphones off. “Morning” he grinned then automatically grabbing her hand and interwined their fingers together. Hana smiled at this as she looked at their hands then to Jungkook. “Morning Kookie” she replied, supressing her wide smile. The boy brought his hand on the tip of his head and ruffled her hair—giggled escaped Hana’s lips. “Let’s go” Jungkook said.
The two started walking when a familiar voice was heard from behind.
“YAH! NAM HANA! WAIT UP!”
She turned to look only to see her best friend running towards them. “Hyeri…” she whispered in herself and internally face palmed herself for forgetting. Jungkook on the other hand raised his eyebrows at Hyeri.
“Jesus Christ I need to exercise more” Hyeri, muttered as she huffed air to catch her breathe. Once she regained her debt in oxygen, she greeted her bestfriend but merely glared at the boy her bestfriend locked hands with.
“Hey Hyeri” Jungkook greeted but Hyeri merely nodded and linked arms with Hana— Silence engulfed the trio as they walk to school. Hana would occasionally look to her right to see Hyeri happily scrolling through her phone, still linked arms with her. But when she looked to her left it was as if on cue, Jungkook turned his head towards her as well; the two smiled at each other but did not exchanged words, the boy pulled his earphones out and placed one on Hana’s ear, one to his.
He played their favourite song together making Hana beamed “Ahhh I missed this song!” she exclaimed, making the boy chuckled.
                                                         ~
When arrived in school Hana frowned when Jungkook suddenly excused himself. “I’ll see you later okay? I need to find—“
“Yuri” Hyeri blurted with an annoyed look, Hana nudged her best friend quiet.
Jungkook blinked before continuing, “She said she’s not feeling well. I’ll go look for her.” He said, trying to catch Hana’s gaze as she kept avoiding his. The boy clicked his tongue “Hana”
“Hana”
“It’s okay, your best friend needs you” she said reluctantly but urging him to go. Jungkook smiled at her and peck her cheek. “I’ll see you later.”
Hana watched Jungkook’s back as his head snapped from his left to right trying to look for the girl Nam Hana envies the most. At this state she get why the rumours of them splitting up was going around—Jungkook and Yuri looked more like the couple.
“Yah Hana, are you really that surprised?” Hyeri nudged at her best friend who was blankly staring into space. Hana sighed and started walking towards her first lesson, “I’ll see you later Ri.” She mumbled. With slumped shoulders Hana let out another huffed of air— lost in her trance she did not hear a frantic shout of someone.
“Watch out!” someone called out
But it was too late when a football hit the side of her head. Hana gained her senses and blinked at the impact that the ball left as she stopped in her track. Wondering what was it that hit her suddenly.
“Hey. Are you okay?” someone called out again, when they reached her, their eyes widened. “Hana are you okay?!?”
Hana blinked at the boy in front of her. “Bambam” she whispered, dazed.
“Are you okay? You look really lost”
The girl nodded.
“Are you sure? Do you need to go to the nurse?”
Hana shook her head. “I’m okay. What was it that hit me anyway?”
Bambam raised his eyebrows at her. Was this girl really that clueless? What was it she was thinking about anyway, she seemed really lost in her thoughts? The boy saw the same glint of loneliness in her eyes, though today it looked like it’s more than a tinge. “Come on, let’s get you ice. It looked like you got hit pretty hard” Bambam said dismissing her question. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards the nurse’s office.
Hana let him pull her away, still dazed—still unsure of what hit her. Once they reached the nurse’s office Bambam explained to the nurse what happened and asked Hana some questions regarding anything hurting or feeling nausea. Hana merely shook her head as she looked at the nurse blankly.
“Well it looks like she’s fine. I’ll give her an ice pack; she’s just a bit senseless at the moment, maybe because of the impact of the ball.” Bambam nodded as he kept glancing at the girl who was just staring blankly in the air. The nurse handed him the ice pack “I’ll excuse the both of you for the first lesson. Let her get some fresh air. I think she would need it.” the nurse commanded.
The boy tapped Hana’s shoulder, gaining her attention. “Let’s go” he said offering his hand. Hana blinked but took his hand regardless. The two left the nurse office and walked towards the school garden, they sat on one of the benches as Bambam handed her the ice pack. “Here.”
Hana looked at it and just looked at it. The boy beside her groaned, “Did the ball really hit you that hard?” he asked as he snatched the ice pack from her and placed it on the side of her head.
“No, I was just thinking of something else.” She mumbled quietly making Bambam raised his eyebrows, curious. “About what?”
She averted her gaze to the boy beside her. “Someone…” she answered.
Bambam gaped at her softly, his eyes once again explored her features. There was something in her that took him in, she intrigued him. This time though, Hana was not aware of the boy openly staring at her.  “You know when you smile you look a hundred times prettier.” He commented making her turn to him before she flashed a small smile.
“You really do love staring don’t you?”
He grinned, “Like I said only to pretty girls like you” he said and winked making Hana chuckled at his bold statement. “Does your pick up lines work sometimes?” she mocked.
“It worked on you yesterday” he smirked, referring at her flustered state from yesterday.
Hana hit his arm playfully “It did not!” she denied.
“Did to!”
“Did not!”
“Did to!”
“Not!”
“Look at that. Ugh!” he said gesturing around her face making her gasped in annoyance
“What? Do you have anything to say about it?” she challenged
“Yeah, It’s too beautiful!”
 Chapter 5
  ~
Park Yuri is not the girl to stay up late so whenever she does, it would be as if she got drunk the night before and have a hung over the morning after. The girl dragged herself to the nearby coffee shop in school. She brought her hand to cup as she yawned as made her way to the counter to order, ignoring the one other costumer who stood at the front.
“Can I have café Americano please” she muffled as she rubbed her eyes as if she just woke up, not noticing the boy beside her who was about to order. The boy beside her however raised his eyebrows at her.
The server took a note of her order and hurriedly turned to the boy who got interrupted, “Sorry, sir. What’s your order?” The boy blinked at the sleepy girl before he returned his gaze to the server and flashed a small smile, “Just iced caramel macchiato please”
When their orders arrived, Yuri made a face at the hot beverage she ordered. She doesn’t drink coffee often, normally she would settle for something sweet but she needed something strong that’ll keep her awake during the school hours—however she couldn’t helped but eye the drink beside hers. “That looks so nice” she grumbled quietly before she took her bitter beverage. About to walk away and leave the café, the boy surprisingly called out her name, “Yah Park Yuri”
Yuri’s eyes widened at the familiar voice and immediately turned around to greet the caller. “Yoongi oppa!!!” she squealed, arms extended ready to engulf the boy for a hug as she ran towards him.
Yoongi chuckled as he caught her in his arms. “Hey long time no see!” he said once the both of them pulled away. Yuri’s eyes brightened like a kid getting her favourite candy. “I know! I haven’t got time to see you since I came back! How are you?”
“Well,” the boy smirked to himself as he shrugged. “You know, same old, same old” he replied making the younger girl rolled her eyes at him. “I see nothing much changed” Yuri commented  where Yoongi shrugged to, once again.
“So which uni do you go to?”
“Seoul University obvs.”
“Majoring in literacy?” she asked wiggling her eyebrows
The boy bent down, levelled to her as he ruffled the girl’s hair and pinched her cheek. “You know me so well” he replied in delight making her insides turn upside down, her cheeks heating up but Yuri covered this with her giggles as she pulled away. “You were after all, my favourite oppa” she said boldly.
Yoongi grinned at her “I was, wasn’t I?” he smirked recalling Yuri’s childhood crush on him.
Yuri nodded but Yoongi’s grin faded into a straight face; “Watch out Jungkook might get jealous” he winked but Yuri only made a face. “Mind you oppa, Jungkookie isn’t an oppa” she replied, pulling her tongue out. “And plus Kookie have a Hana now” Yuri winked mimicking the older male but he only chuckled at the girl.
“Have you met her yet?”
“Yep!”
“She’s quite lovely huh?”
“Very actually. I like her”
“Well try not to steal her off Jungkook” he joked
“I can’t make promises” she winked
Yoongi chuckled, as he ruffled her hair again. “Well, I’m gonna go, catch up later?”
Yuri mentally twirled as she smiled widely, “Totally! Ask the other oppas too”
“Don’t you see Taehyung and Jimin around school?” the asked in confusion
“Yeah, I do. I meant the oppas. Not the children. I get to see those kids in school every day.” Yuri groaned
Yoongi laughed whole-heartedly; “Of course, well I’ll see you later, Yuri-ah!” he waved
“Bye Oppa!”

For the nth time Jungkook tried to call Yuri’s phone but each time he tried the rings would end up to voicemail. The boy groaned, frustrated as he prepared himself to throw his phone when he saw Yuri entering the school gates. He immediately stopped and jogged towards her. “Yah!” he scolded but Yuri was way too happy to acknowledge his morning scolding
“You do know you’re so late for the first lesson right?”
Yuri was practically skipping as she sipped on her cup. “No~~ I had a permission slip” she replied.
“Yah! You could’ve told me where you were!”
The girl raised her eyebrows at her bestfriend “I didn’t know I was supposed to”
“You texted me you weren’t feeling well… what did you expect me to do? Of course I’d look for you!”
Yuri sighed and stopped in her tracks as she placed a hand on her best friend’s shoulder. “You worry too much Jungkook. And besides I wasn’t expecting you to come, weren’t you supposed to walk Hana to school?”
“I have then I went to look for you”
“Jungkook, you do know the rumours that’s going aroun—“ Yuri stopped midway through her sentence when she heard someone laughing. Jungkook did the same as the both of them turned at the direction where the laugh was coming from—in the school garden, there sat two students laughing on the bench.
Yuri raised her eyebrows whereas Jungkook narrowed his eyes at the two students who was skipping class.
“Isn’t that… Hana?” Yuri mumbled still eyeing the students who had their back on them. Jungkook’s eyebrows furrowed as his jaw tightened, recognizing the same blonde haired boy from yesterday. Furious taken over him, he marched his way to the two while Yuri merely stood stunned at his best friend.
As soon as Hana saw Jungkook infront of them she stood up in surprise but winced and got out balanced when dizziness hit her, Bambam and Jungkook’s reflexes kicked in as the both of them tried to catch Hana-- Bambam was faster and caught the fallen girl faster, Jungkook only groaned and glared at the blonde haired boy he grew to dislike so fast since the day before.
“Are you okay? I told you to be careful!” Bambam scolded lightly
“Aish” Jungkook scoffed as he took Hana off of Bambam’s arms. “Are you okay?” Jungkook asked, worry filling his eyes.
Hana was confused as she looked at the two boys in front of her but she replied nonetheless, “I’m fine” she brushed off as she slightly pushed Jungkook’s arms away. She placed a hand on her temples and massaged it briefly. Was the impact of the ball hits her now. She groaned at the thought, late reaction much? She thought to herself, referring to her body’s late reaction from earlier’s incident.
“Hana” Jungkook and Bambam said in unison which they both turned their head to each other to and furrowed their eyebrows.
//Yuri watched the trio in amusement//
Hana raised her eyebrows at the two. “What?”
“Are you okay?” the two boys said in unison once again. “Yo dude, stop copying my lines” Bambam said jokingly while Jungkook muttered a quiet "Shut up dude"
Hana giggled at the both of them and nodded at their question. “I’m fine, I just lost my balance”
Jungkook groaned “What happened anyway? Why are you off lessons and why with him?” he asked as he pointed at Bambam who gasped loudly mocking to be hurt. “Ouch” he breath.
“I could ask the same to you Mr. Jeon.” Hana replied in a knowing tone.
“Yah”
“What?”
“Answer my question”
“Nothing. I just needed fresh air.”
The boy’s brows knitted once again as he looked at his girlfriend. “Why did you need fresh air?”
“Cause…”
“Yeah?...”
“Bambam farted!” Hana exclaimed as she pointed at the other boy while she pretend to pinch her nose at the ‘smell’

Chapter 6
 ~
Weeks have passed and it became evident to Kim Hyeri that a certain boy in Hana’s math class was trying to steal her role as the best friend. The curious girl had led her to get some research done on the subject—while her bestfriend referred to this as ‘gossip’, Hyeri preferred to call it, “investigative journalism.”
“Hyeri seriously…” Hana sighed and gave her best friend a look as she flicked through the TV channels. It was the weekend and Hyeri decided to barge her way in Hana’s peaceful afternoon, holding a stack of A4 papers.
“AHA! That’s why he has blonde hair! He’s from Thailand!” Hyeri exclaimed, totally ignoring her best friend as she read the ‘Bambam file’ Jiho (one of the biggest geeks in school) had given her and took a seat next to Hana.
“Oh my goodness, Thais doesn’t have naturally blonde hair.” Hana said as she face palm herself. “Where did you get that anyway?”
“Park Jiho.” Hyeri muttered
Hana rolled her eyes before she snatched the ‘Bambam file’ off of Hyeri. “Just stop” she grumbled as she tossed the stash of paper behind her.
“Yah!”
“It’s not nice to look at someone else’s files.”
“As long as they don’t know, it’s okay” Hyeri said casually before she tried to grab the papers back but Hana only pushed her back down her seat. “Kim Hyeri you’re worse than my mother.”
“Well he can’t really replace her to be your mum”
“Hahaha! You’re so paranoid; no one can ever replace you Hyeri.” Hana laughed as she tossed the tv remote and grabbed a magazine instead, giving up to find a decent show on TV.
“Awww really?” Hyeri asked placing both of her hands on her chest and mocking to cry
“Really.” Hana replied giving Hyeri a knowing look before laughing while Hyeri frowned and threw a pillow at her breathless best friend. “Sarcasm isn’t your forte” Hyeri commented.
“Better than nothing!” Hana retorted as she pulled her tongue out earning another pillow thrown by Hyeri.
The two girls giggled before Hana retrieved her phone from the coffee table to check for any messages but she only frowned seeing Jungkook still hasn’t replied to her latest message.
“Hmmm, Jungkook?” Hyeri guessed where Hana nodded still looking at the phone screen. “Dude he’s probably out with his girlfriend-- oh wait, you’re the girlfriend. I meant his best friend Park Yuri.” Hana glared at her best friend. “He’s actually at Jin oppa’s apartment. His friends and he hangs out together every Saturday. It’s their ‘broday’” Hana replied, quoting Taehyung.
Hyeri made a look before rolling her eyes. “Sure.”
“Oh shush” Hana said throwing the pillow she received back to Hyeri but her bestfriend dodged the pillow quickly. “Bambam’s coming over by the way”
“Wow! I can’t wait!” Hyeri beamed as she clasped her hands together and batted her eyes—each of her words laced with sarcasm.

                                                          ~
Meanwhile Jungkook decided to spend his Saturday afternoon with his friends. They were all scattered in Jin’s apartment—the eldest of the bunch. The smell of popcorn reeked in the apartment as Jimin and Taehyung bicker about video games while the older ones discussed stuff about life, making the whole apartment lively and hectic at the same time
Although there sat the youngest of the bunch whom found himself staring into a  space, with his brows furrowed as if he something was bothering him. It didn’t take for the elder hyungs to notice their dazed maknae.
Jin placed a hand on Jungkook’s shoulded and tapped it lightly. The younger boy turned his head at his hyung averting his attention from his thoughts. “Hyung?” he asked
“What’s up, you’ve been quiet since you got here?”
“Nothing” the boy replied with a slight smile to convince Jin but Yoongi who was also observing their troubled maknae raised his eyebrows “Is it Hana?” Yoongi asked
Jungkook nodded
“What’s up? Is there trouble in paradise?” Namjoon asked as Hoseok snickered while Jin rolled his eyes at the two younger boys.
“Actually… I’m not sure…” Jungkook replied, only deepening his frown.
“What do you mean?” Jin asked
“She started hanging out with this boy from her math class… well… I don’t—I don’t know.”
“Is it that Bambam kid?” Jimin chirped, joining the conversation
“Yep”
“Dude their only hanging out. Chill”
“And plus if anything you and Yuri hangs out—a lot. So its basically the same with Hana and her new friend” Taehyung commented taking the sit next to Hoseok.
“Well it’s different with me and Yuri. I’ve known her for years, we’re best friends. With Hana and Bambam they’ve just met—“
“You wanna know what else is different? You have a crush on Yuri since we were little.” Yoongi pointed out
“Had. I don’t have a crush on her anymore” Jungkook grumbled his cheeks slightly tinted—his words obviously not matching his body.
“Oh really? Is that why you were all over her since she got back from abroad?”
“No I have not—“ the maknae tried to deny but stopped midway when he realised how much time he had been spending with Yuri and how much he had been letting his own girlfriend down; images of Hana and Bambam flashes in his mind and wondered if what he’s feeling at the moment was what Hana felt whenever she saw him and Yuri together. Suddenly his phone rang waking him from his trance; the boy groaned and grabbed his phone off of his pocket. “Hello?”
[Hey Jungkook]
It was Yuri. His hyungs knew it was, from the way their maknae’s furrowed eyebrows dissipated and replaced with a smile.
“You’re hungry? Yeah, I have time. I’ll be on my way” the boy stood up and shoved his phone back in his pocket.
“Yah. Where are you going?” Namjoon lazily called out while Jungkook’s other hyungs mentally face palmed themselves seeing their maknae unconsciously still liking his childhood bestfriend.
Jungkook turned around and smiled “At Yuri’s” he replied before he dashed out of Jin’s apartment leaving his hyungs in an absolute ‘how-did-that-happened’ state. There was one thing in the six boys’ minds and one thing only; their maknae is confused and not aware of it.
 Chapter 7
 ~
The first meet would always be awkward, at least according to Hana but for Hyeri and Bambam it was more like fire and ice collide or a volcano waiting to erupt. The two had been arguing the moment they had a chance to meet. The only thing Hana could do was to sigh heavily as she walked in between the two on their way to the convenience store.
“Jesus Christ, give it a rest! G-Dragon is clearly one of the best producers out there!” Bambam cried, exaggerating his hand gestures, frustrated.
“Can you not include Jesus in this? Can we keep Jesus out of this please?” Hyeri complained with a roll of eyes.
“Can you not change the subject here?”
“Can you no—“
“CAN THE TWO OF YOU SHUT UP ALREADY? PLEASE.” Hana exclaimed, much more frustrated “Seriously, I should’ve just gone to work today” she grumbled beneath her breath as she stomped her way inside the store. The two stunned, glared at each other.
“Bangkok” Hyeri grumbled in an offense tone
“Kimchi” Bambam did the same before the both of them followed Hana inside. The moment they entered the store, Bambam’s eyes searched for Hana and smiled when he found her. He jogged his way to her while Hyeri made her way to the sweets section, her eyes forming hearts. “Ah my first love~”
Bambam only shook his head at Hyeri’s short monologue, reuniting with her ‘first love’.
“Hey so what you getting?” he asked returning his gaze on Hana
“Junk food” she grumbled quietly, as she looked at the shelves full of chips carefully.
“Healthy”
“We’re binge watching movies and I need to eat my feelings out” she replied before grabbing a bunch of chips in her arms.
“Eat your feelings out?” the blonde haired boy raised his eyebrows.
“Yeah to be fat which probably will give more reasons for Jungkook to leave me but I don’t care anymore. Not like he sees me anyway right? He doesn’t even have time to spend time with me”
“Why?”
“Because…” Hana pursed her lips shut not wanting to finish her sentence, Bambam on the other hand frowned at the girl beside her. “Hey” he tapped her shoulder but she pretended to be more immersed in choosing what chips to buy. Bambam clucked his tongue as he shifted closer to her. He place his hand on her chin and turned her head so he could get a good looked at her.
Loneliness was no longer in her eyes; you can just see right away that she was lonely—the sight of her, like that had a panged in his chest as if something broke.
“Stop looking at me like that” Hana muttered breaking the silent.
“Like what?”
“Like that.” She said as she pulled away from his touch. “You always stare and look at me with those eyes.” She grumbled and turned her attention back to the chips on the shelves.
“Uh well, sorry I didn’t know we’re not supposed to look with our eyes.”
The girl rolled her eyes, “Smart ”
He chuckled as he ruffled her hair which turned her attention back to him to glare but couldn’t help but joined him. But once calmed Bambam’s expression changed and placed Hana’s loose hair strands behind her ear. “But real talk. You don’t have to beat yourself up for a guy—any guy but especially a guy like him. If you don’t feel happy anymore maybe you should just br—“
“Don’t” Hana said sternly.
“What?”
“Don’t say it. I like Jungkook and maybe he spends more time with his best friend but that’s—“
“That’s being a douche.”
“Or confuse.” She defended
“How can you keep defending him?!” Bambam questioned “I’ve only been your friend for a short time but I can already tell you’re not happy in your relationship. You always look unhappy and that’s not healthy anymore Hana…” he once again shifted closer to Hana as he cupped her cheek
Hana opened to speak but a voice spoke out.
“Hana”
She turned to look who it was and immediately pulled back from Bambam’s touch and fixed her hair anxiously. “Jungkook”
Jungkook’s hand formed a fist as his jaw tightened and his brows furrowed—a look Hana got used to after hanging out with Bambam more often.
“I thought you’re with the Oppas?” she asked
“Hey Hana!” a girl popped up behind Jungkook as she waves at Hana.
Obviously not. Bambam muttered  under his breathe.
“Y-yuri...”
“What’s up?”
“Not much—“ she turned to her boyfriend and gave him a questioning look then turned back to Yuri. “I didn’t know you hanged out with them too” she asked
“With who?”
“Jin oppa and everyone.”
“What? No? Were they? I called Jungkook and he said he was free” Yuri replied innocently where Hana’s mouth formed an ‘o’ So that’s how it is... She wanted to call Jungkook earlier too but she knew he wasn’t free as the boys had always had Saturday as their ‘broday’.
At the revelation Jungkook’s expression softened and looked at Hana. “Its no—“ Hana placed her hand up. “Stop. I don’t want to hear it.” Her eyes roamed everywhere but him.
“Hana—“
“Let’s go Bambam”
Bambam merely shrugged and followed Hana-- they met Hyeri in the counter who also witnessed what happened. Yuri on the other hand was speechless as she looked at her best friend frozen in place watching his girlfriend leave the store. All Yuri could do was placed a hand on his shoulder which he turned to and she gave him an encouraging nod.
“Go follow her. I think you guys need to talk”
Those were the words Jungkook needed to hear before he bolted to the door and ran after Hana.
 Chapter 8
 ~
There was nothing running in Hana’s mind. All she could think of was, she’s had enough, she has endured enough and she needed a gateway from Yuri and Jungkook. The only thing though was that the ‘gateway’ she thought that would let her forget everything temporarily didn’t interest her anymore—the food she bought from the convenience store was left untouched and the movie playing on the TV screen was left playing.
Maybe Bambam was right, maybe she was better off breaking up with Jungkook. He’s going to break up with her anyway right? Might as well beat him to it…
With her mind occupied, Hana never noticed the nonstop rings from her phone, which Hyeri and Bambam veered their attention, from the movie and to the lost girl looking in space. Hyeri frowned to see her best friend like that, she wished she had experience with boys to advice to Hana but sadly the closer she would get would be her experience with her older brothers which includes an intense game of videogames and playing basketball.
Hyeri groaned as she looked at the boy beside her, who too was looking at Hana. The only thing the two could do was pursed their lips as no words could escape their lips.
A doorbell enlightened the hushed house before Hana got up mindlessly and dragged herself to the door.
“What?” she questioned as she opened the door but as she looked up at the visitor her eyes only widened. The boy that caused her so much confusion stood on her door step—huffing for air it was evident he was just running. Hana composed herself and gave the boy a lazy stare. “What are you doing here, Jungkook?”
“Hana…” he stepped forward but she dodged his touch. Jungkook pursed his lips and tried to suppress the pain in his chest at her cold gesture.
“Did you need anything?” Hana asked raising an eyebrow.
He gulped and wet his dried lips, “Yes… We need to talk.”
It was tempting for a minute but Hana pondered she needed to be happy and if being happy requires to let go of people she loves—so she could finally be free from all the heart aches. Then so, be it. She gave Jungkook a weak smile. “No need… Let’s just finish whatever this is.” She shrugged as tears started to fall. Jungkook’s brows creased, his eyes suddenly glazed with a clear layer of liquid. He stepped forward and reached out for her but Hana stepped back once again and held her hand up.
“Don’t!” she exclaimed, her voice hoarse. Jungkook looked at her with pleading eyes. “Don’t come any closer” she whispered
He bit his lower lip to stop himself from crying as he nodded lightly. “If that’s... what you want…” he replied quietly, barely audible. His reply only ripped her heart in finer pieces, she thought he would’ve at least objected and fight for their relationship but he agreed so easily…
There was a brief silence before them before Hana nodded as she squeezed her eyes shut as more tears rolled down her cheeks. “Okay, bye” she breathed and shut the door on Jungkook without another glance as she felt her heart break even more. Once she turned herself from the door, two familiar faces greeted her and almost immediately she ran to Bambam and Hyeri’s arms, there she cried her eyes out.
                                                          ~
As soon as the door closed Jungkook exhaled the air he unconsciously been holding, his fingers laced through his hair, frustrated as a warm liquid started to fall from his eyes -- right there and then he broke down. Jeon Jungkook broke down.
He wanted to hug her and beg for her to take all of it back. He wanted to… But it only occurred to him how much damage he caused her. She was broken and it hurt him to know that he was behind it.
To his expense the weather decided to match his broken state. The rain started pouring down, there was only one place that he wanted to go to—the place he goes to for comfort and advice.
“Yoongi hyung” he muttered.
 Chapter 9
 ~
An unexpected storm had taken over the sunny afternoon of Seoul. People rushed to the nearest shelter as fast as the rain started to pour, Yoongi drove down town, yawning as he drove past the scurrying civilians. All he wanted to do was to go home and straight down to bed, hanging out with his friends seemed like he was baby sitting a bunch of 6 graders.
But to his luck, he found a drenched Jungkook outside his front door. Yoongi rubbed his nape before he approached the younger male. “Yah Jungkook-ah what are yo— woah…” By the look of his dongsaeng he knew something was wrong, Yoongi shook his head before he unlocked the door and let the both of them in.
“Go to the living room, I’ll go get a towel and a shirt you could change to” he called out as he made his way to his bedroom. He switched the kettle on when he walked past the kitchen, whistling his way through. Yoongi grabbed a fresh new towel and a spare shirt from his draws, and then made his way back to the living from where Jungkook was sat; he was staring into a blank space, his state looking somewhat broken. Yoongi sighed before he threw the towel and shirt at Jungkook, which the younger male looked up at him to. Yoongi gave him a weak smile, “Go get change” he muttered.
Jungkook merely nodded as he got up and made his way to the bathroom. Yoongi collapsed on the couch right away as he ran his hands on his face and groaned. Seeing his dongsaeng like that, it reminded him of someone—himself. He was exactly like that, when his girlfriend left him… He groaned once again before he got up and made his way to the kitchen
Wasting no time, Yoongi made two cups of tea for the both of them. Just as Jungkook got out of the shower, Yoongi had made his way back to the couch.
Jungkook walked back towards the couch as he rub the towel on his hair while Yoongi took a sip on his tea.
“So want to tell me what’s going on?” Yoongi asked as he placed his cup of tea down.
Jungkook who was reaching for his tea stopped midway and retreat his arms back. He shrugged at Yoongi’s question but the moment he turned to look at his concerned hyung a tear fell from his eye. “Hana broke up with me” he blurted
A gasp escaped Yoongi’s lips—to be honest it was expected for Hana to break with Jungkook. The boys knew what the maknae had coming but they didn’t know it would be so soon.  “What happened?”
The maknae shook his head. “I don’t know.” He replied which Yoongi frowned upon to.
“You had it coming bro.”
Jungkook looked up.
“You’ve been neglecting Hana ever since Yuri came back.” Yoongi shrugged. “In fact it’s no surprise she broke up with you. I don’t even know why I even asked; what happened.”
Feeling a bit hurt by his hyung’s words, Jungkook accepted each and every one of it. He looked up at his hyung helplessly as his tears kept falling from his eyes. “I—I don’t know what to do, hyung. I love her. I—I--…” he hesitated for a bit before he murmured, “I don’t want to lose her.”
“Well that’s not what I just saw when you took off earlier. You still have feelings for Yuri... I saw it in your eyes, when she called you.”
Jungkook’s brows furrowed, “I don’t. We just hang out a lot. That doesn’t mean anything”
“Really? You never had a single doubt of feelings towards the two girls at all?”
“Of course no— okay maybe… at first. But it became clear to me when I saw Hana started hanging around with that Bambam kid. I never felt so angry and—and—and jealous. I don’t like seeing Hana with other guys but me.”
“How about Yuri?”
“Hyung… I know Yuri still likes you. That day when you met her at the café, I never saw her smile like that since she came back. She told me all about it and surprisingly I didn’t feel the same way as I would’ve when we were younger whenever she tells me all about you. I felt nothing but be happy for her.”
Yoongi frowned at Jungkook, confused with his words and actions. “Then why do you always spend your time with Yuri? Why not Hana?”
“Because…”
“What?”
“Do you guys ever wonder why she came back?”
Yoongi raised his eyebrows, “No…”
Jungkook sighed, “You need to keep this as a secret. I told her I won’t tell anyone…” he leaned closer,
FLASHBACK
 ~
Park Yuri was the girl next door. She lived the perfect life, but that was before her parents got divorced and her dad lost custody of her. That was also when her and her mum decided to fly abroad, for a better life.
Everything seemed like a fragment of a fairytale. Upon arriving to a foreign land Yuri’s mum fell in love and got married with a guy named Minjun. He was nice, very loving and caring—it wasn’t only to Yuri’s mum but to Yuri herself too… Or so that’s what Yuri’s mum thought.
Minjun was the opposite of nice and loving and absolutely far from caring. He was abusive, manipulative and a monster. He took advantage of a vulnerable 15-year-old girl, he molested her. And every single time she tried to fight him off she would receive numerous number physical abuse which would result her covered in bruises.  She tried to hide all of it and if ever a bruise or two would be visible, she’d always say “I slipped”
Her mother had no idea but that was until one night, when she came home early from work and found her husband on top of her hysterically crying daughter. It was a horrifying scene, all she could do was to push her husband off of her daughter and call the police as they both tried to escape.
Yuri’s mother got her, the very latest flight back to Korea that very night and promised her daughter that she would follow right away.
“The best thing to do right now is to get you away from that bastard as far as possible. Arasso? I’ll contact the Jeons to let them know you’re coming back. Stay at our old house, that way the Jeons can watch you over while I’m away. Arasso? Yuri-ah? Arasso?”
Yuri nodded vigorously before her mother placed a kiss on her forehead and before she boarded on the plane to Korea.
 Jungkook’s FLASHBACK
 ~
Jungkook was listening to music in his room while texting Hana.
[Jagiya~~~ Its raining outside aren’t you cold?”]
{Yah you asked me that so many times already Jeon Jungkook. I’m not cold}
[Are you sure? Don’t you need a cuddle? I can come over ;)]
{! Control your hormones Jeon >:P}
[I c—
He was about to text back when his door sprung open to reveal his childhood best friend—Park Yuri.
“Yuri…” he whispered as he placed his phone down. Yuri on the other hand ran towards him and immediately engulfed him for a hug. She started crying, Jungkook had no idea why but he wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back trying to soothe her sobs. “Hey…” he said softly as he pulled back slightly, giving his best friend a small smile, “Did you miss me that much huh?” he joked and poked her nose
Despite all that, Yuri managed to utter a smile. “You haven’t changed” she grumbled pushing his shoulder back
Jungkook chuckled. “Welcome home by the way! So unexpected! You should’ve called, I could’ve picked you up at the airport.”
Yuri smiled weakly, “I should’ve huh?” she murmured, making Jungkook frown, she looked incredibly down. He lifted her chin so he could look at her. “Hey… What’s wrong?” he asked
A tear slipped off her eyes but she immediately wiped it hoping her best friend didn’t see, “Nothing” she replied as she got up but winced when Jungkook grabbed her arm.
Curious, Jungkook slowly rolled up her sleeve—his eyes bulged when a massive bruise was revealed. “Yah—what happened?”
“I just…slipped,”
Jungkook gave her a look. “Really? With your arm? Yuri… What’s going on?”
  END OF FLASHBACK
 ~
“…then, she told me everything. Everything she had to go through when she was there. I was so angry back then; she didn’t deserve any of that. So… since then, all I wanted to do was protect her, protect my best friend… to be there for her, to make her feel safe…” Jungkook buried his face in his palms after realizing something.
In his desire to protect his best friend, he lost Hana; the girl he loves.
   Chapter 10
   ~
If there was something people from her school was good at, it would be how they seem to take rumours and gossip in much more easily than the stuff that were actually taught to them in school. This was what Nam Hana was amazed at as she walked down the hall ways. Murmurs and sneaky glances were thrown at her as soon as she entered the school gates.
But if there was something Bambam was amazed at? That was how Nam Hana composed herself as if she was okay. She was doing way better than he had given her credit for. The weekend break up between her and Jungkook was a blur. Hana ran in his and Hyeri’s arms and cried. That was the only time she cried and ever since she had been wearing a mask convincing people that she’s fine.
Bambam bit his lip before he ran towards Hana and placed an arm on her shoulder. “Hey how you doing?” he greeted with a grin.
Hana flashed him a smile, “I’m fine, how about you?”
“Better since I’m walking with you” he winked in which Hana made a face and playfully pushed him away as he chuckled “Where’s Hyeri?”
“She has to go on a meeting with her mum. She said she won’t be able to come in today”
“Ah! Looks like I have you for myself then!” he exclaimed and attacked her with a bear hug
“Y-yah! Yah!” Hana complained as she slapped his arms away but he only tightened his embrace. Bambam chuckled though inside he just really wanted to hug her. “Yah!!! I can’t breathe!”
The blonde haired boy let out a laugh before finally pulled away and he took a long look at the girl in front of him— she was smiling but he knew that’s not what she felt inside. You’re good at pretending Nam Hana.
“One day I’m gonna poke your eyes out” Hana grumbled as she pushed him and started walking away. Bambam shook his head, amused before he jogged towards her, “Yah! Let’s go to class together!” he called out.
                                                          ~
A sigh escaped Yuri’s lips as she strode behind her best friend who was basically dragging himself to school. She glanced at her watch only to let out another sigh, they’ve already missed the first two lessons; at this rate they’ll probably get to school at the last bell. The girl scratched the back of her head before she stomped forward and grabbed Jungkook’s wrist.
“We need to hurry up Romeo” she said and ran as she pulled Jungkook behind her. Jungkook didn’t notice even though his legs are running, his mind was on something else—  When a passer-by saw them they probably thought they were a runaway couple but if it were in Yuri’s perspective, she thought she looked like she was rushing a zombie to a hospital.
                                                          ~
The ear screeching bell rang, making Hana cover her ears in annoyance as the other people from her class started to pack up. Hana on the other hand let out a groan before she reluctantly packed up her stuff. There was one thing she had grown to hate and that was socializing with people. Maybe smiling so much became exhausting or maybe ignoring the whispers and judgemental glances. She wasn’t sure; maybe everything in general became tiring for her—
“Hana, you ready?” a tall boy asked, snapping Hana back to reality, she looked up and smiled.
“Yep!” she exclaimed and made a V sign with her index and middle finger. The boy grinned as his bangs hovered in his eyes.
“Bambam and Youngjae hyung must be waiting for us already. Ugh Mr. Davenport always letting us out late!” he complaint as Hana chuckled. Kim Yugyeom was in Hana’s English class and was one of Bambam’s friends whom also became her friends too in no time.
Yugyeom laughed as he ruffled her hair as the both of them walked together; making Hana pout and hit his arm playfully “Yah!”—he always enjoyed teasing Hana’s height as he was quite tall for his age.
As the two walked towards the canteen a certain blonde haired boy sneaked his way behind Hana and placed his arms on her shoulder. Hana jumped a little but sighed in relieved when it was only Bambam who was grinning at her but soon frowned at his friend, “Yah Kim Yugyeom why are you with my Hana?”
“Tsss, this kid” another boy popped out, he was slightly smirking as he shook his head to the blonde haired boy but smiled at Hana in which she smiled back—Choi Youngjae was in the year above and part of the dance crew GOT7 in which Bambam and Yugyeom was a part of, too.
“You are such a child” Yugyeom uttered in amusement while Bambam pouted and only clung on Hana’s arm. “Hana is only mine. She’s only friends with me not with you two” Bambam replied while pointing at his two friends with a disgusted face.
Yugyeom and Youngjae only laughed. “You really are a child!” they both said in unison.
As they near to the canteen Bambam let go of Hana’s arm to clasp his hands in delight. “I’m so hungry I could eat a horse!” he exclaimed.
Hana opened to say something but he came. Instead she stammered his name as her eyes roamed at him. He looked like a mess, his eyes were puffy and he had bags under his eyes—he looked broken and it killed Hana to see him like that.
But the next thing he did was something that killed her even more; he collapsed on his knees, making the entire hall way silenced—
Hana stepped forward but Bambam held her arm. She gave him a weak smile, a smile that has no words of explanation but showed how much she has to do this. The boy let go of her arm and gave her a nod with a smile, encouraging her in what she had to do. Hana sighed as she sat down, enough to be levelled in front of Jungkook.
He looked up, “Hana… I’m sorry” he pleaded as his eyes glistened in a familiar liquid. Hana placed both of her hands on either side of his shoulders—from his shoulders her hands travelled to his face. She traced every detail of it, trying to memorize his features. She knew this was the last time because after this she was willing to finally let him go, she didn’t want to hold him back from the happiness he wanted. As much as it hurt her she knew she can’t do anything about it. She’s letting him go because she loves him. Maybe what others said was true, love can make you do stupid things.
Hana felt a roll of tear touched her finger as she wiped it with her thumb and lifted his face so she could look into his eyes, the ones that she can get lost into for hours and never get tired of, the ones she fell for— But her lips trembled the moment their eyes met. Everything inside her broke, after seeing his eyes full of tears. She quickly wiped them away as she tried hard herself not to break down in front of him. So this is what it feels like, to see someone you love cry. Why does it hurt so much?
“Shush… stop crying. I hate seeing you like this” she whispered as he trembled, crying. She wanted to hug him tight until he felt better; she wanted to take away all his pain away, she wanted to. It hurt more to see him like this than seeing him with Yuri.
This one last time… she wrapped her arms around him and felt his pain once he was in her arms. If only she can take all of his pain away, she could’ve.
“I’m so-sorry” he managed to utter. He wanted to explain everything to her but he couldn’t because ‘Sorry’ was all he could utter. What can a sorry do? Will that patch the scars he gave her emotionally? He questioned himself.
Hana bit her lip to keep herself from sobbing. “Stop crying, you know how much this hurts me huh?” she replied playfully. “I’m okay, don’t worry about me. You and Yuri looked a better couple anyway.” She joked as she pulled away and stood up, she offered her hand to him to stand in which he took.
“I know we broke up already but… I want to end our relationship in good terms. Smile for me this last time?” she requested in which he forced a smile at her while she weakly smiled at him “Let’s officially break up?” she said trying to sound enthusiastic but her voice trembled. She offered her hand once again for a hand shake in which he took again.
But this time around he didn’t want to let go and he wanted hold it tighter but he had to… he had to let go. His eyes shouted; no don’t let go, I want you with me, don’t go, don’t leave me.
                                                          ~
Once she pulled away from their hand shake, Hana quickly turned around, not wanting Jungkook to see her break down. Then she saw the many eyes laid on them but she ignored them and instead she ran. She ran as fast as she could, as far away from people as possible. She ignored the people who were crying her name or the ones who were trying to chase after her. All she wanted to do was to be alone. She wanted to go somewhere, where she doesn’t have to fake a smile or somewhere she doesn’t have to say she was okay even though she wasn’t.
She ended up at the back of the school where no one ever hangs out and there, she collapsed on the ground as she hugged her leg and buried her face in her knees and cried her heart out.
“You ran all the way here to cry?” a familiar voice spoke up, his breathing uneven from running. “Aish that’s why you have friends. So you have someone to cry on” he muttered as he sat next to her.
Hana stopped for a second to look up who the intruder was.
Those eyes again. “Didn’t I say I’m gonna poke your eyes out if you keep looking at me like that?”
He chuckled, “You can still threaten me even if you’re crying like that huh?”
Hana frowned, “Go away Bambam”
“Ouch”
“I want to be alone, okay”
This time he frowned but he pulled her in his chest nonetheless. “Come here, you. Just let it out… Cry all you want… Even if you’re ugly when you cry, it’s okay, you’re still pretty in my eyes” he joked but Hana only cried. In which his gaze were fixated on her as a pang of pain hit his chest, he wrapped his arms around her tightly, hoping it would take all of her heart aches away.
                                                          ~
On a distance Jungkook watched as the girl he loves cried in someone else’s arms.
The moment Hana ran away him and Bambam chased after her but Bambam was faster and he arrived a few seconds later and he was too late. Hana was already in Bambam’s arms.
It hurt Jungkook inside. That should’ve been him. It should’ve been him comforting her. But it wasn’t… and what hurt him the most was, those tears were caused by him.

Chapter 11
 ~
Hyeri scoffed as she shifted closer to her best friend. “Look at her. Now she sticks with Yoongi after ruining your relationship with Jungkook” she commented as the both of them look at the group of boys and Yuri from one of the tables.  Hana was diligently doing her work when the BTS boys decided to ‘hang-out’ in at the café she works at.
Hana rolled her eyes at her best friend, “Quit it, Ri. She’s just talking to him.”
“Riiiight. Good thing Jinhee unnie isn’t here to see how Yuri’s sticking with Yoongi. Ugh”
“Yah, stop it. You’re starting to sound like those kids in our school”
“What? It’s the truth! Park Yuri is a sly little bi—“
“Hyeri!”
Hyeri frowned, “Why do you always defend that girl anyway?”
“She’s a friend of Jungkook and the boys as well. It’s only natural she hangs out with them.” Hana explained then nudged her best friend, “Why do you always assume the bad in people anyway? Yuri’s nice…”
Hyeri grimaced at Hana and poked her forehead harshly, “That’s exactly why you get hurt so easily! You always try to see the good in people even if there aren’t”
Hana winced as she rubbed her forehead, “Yah! I can get compensation by getting assaulted by the costumers you know”
“I don’t care; money isn’t a problem as long as I can get that head of yours right!”
“Must be nice to be rich then” Hana retorted as she pulled her tongue out.
Hyeri narrowed her eyes at her bestfriend, “It is! I can buy Yuri and get her sent to the North Pole.”
“Tsss, this girl” Hana shook her head as she looked at the time—it was dragging as it wasn’t particularly busy in the café. Hyeri on the other hand shifted her view to Hana and looked at her suspiciously, “You know something” the girl blurted as she point at her best friend. “Nam Hana you know something, you’re not telling me”
Hana looked at her bestfriend innocently as she tilted her head, “…maybe~” she grinned making Hyeri scowled “Yah spill it now before I spill a cup of coffee over you” she threatened
“Just you dare”
“You know I would”
Hana frowned as she held her hands up surrendering at her best friend’s threat. “She came to see me that day…”
Hyeri raised her eyebrows, “What day?”
“You know that day when Jungkook kneeled—“
“Ohhh! The only day I’ve been away and missed all the goods! Damn-“
With a roll of her eyes Hana continued, “When I got home from work that night Yuri was waiting outside my house, she said she wanted to tell me something”
Hyeri listened intently as she nodded to every word, “What is it? What did she tell you”
Hana looked around for a moment before she leaned in to whisper to her bestfriend…
.
.
.
.
“she said she ran out of cheese”
Hyeri blinked a few times before she pulled away and scowled at her best friend “yah!!”
However Hana merely grinned and made a V sign. “Let’s just say she went through a lot and you need to be more considerate of what you say to people.”
Hyeri’s frown deepened “You watch way too much Oprah”
“Just saying, every person has a story to tell. Yuri’s isn’t particularly rainbows and unicorns.”
Around of laughter interrupted the two girls in which they turn their attention to. The 6 boys laughed as Yuri pouted. Hyeri scoffed, “Whatever, I still don’t like her. I’m off my mum’s gonna be looking for me”
“ to be a princess having dinners with pretty boys all the time” Hana teased
Hyeri rolled her eyes, “They’re all jerk face for me” she muttered and grabbed her bag. “See ya”
“Enjoy finding your prince, Cinderella”
“Shut it Nam!” she called out before she left.
Hana laughed before she shook her head but jumped a little when two boys popped out of nowhere. “Jeez! Can you two not do that please” she scolded as she clutched her chest.
The two boys grinned. “So I noticed you kept looking at our table down there, were you looking for a particular someone?” the boy with brown hair said as he wiggled his eyebrows.
“Someone special perhaps?” the other one chimed with his eye smile that Hana finds adorable.
“Yah Taehyung oppa, Jimin oppa, it wasn’t me. It was Hyeri who kept looking at your table. I’m not interested in you guys. Ew.” Hana replied as she made a face.
“Ohhhhh” the two boys said in unison and looked at each other knowingly. “Because HE is not there.”
Hana’s face glowed like a setting sun as she avoided their eye contact, “What are you talking about? Him and I broke up, I--“
“So you were looking for him!” Taehyung exclaimed
“Pffft. No! Look I don’t really want to talk about hi—“
“So are you not interested in our maknae anymore?” Jimin pouted
“Have you seen him lately? He’s been getting in a lot of trouble. He’s not himself…” Taehyung added.
Hana gulped at the two,
“If only SOMEONE would talk to him” Jimin huffed
“That SOMEONE doesn’t have to get back together with him. Just talk…” Taehyung said as the both of them looked at Hana sadly. The girl merely stepped back as she looked at the two horrified.
These oppas are scary. “Y-yah! If you’re not going to order get back to your table! You two are being a nuisance” she scolded in which the two boys huffed.
“Our poor Jungkookie…” they both grumbled as they walked away from the counter.
                                                         ~
Hana sighed as she looked up at the night sky, the stars glint at her. She just finished her shift but something had been bothering her since Jimin and Taehyung’s intrusion. Jungkook had been getting in a lot of trouble lately. His tardiness for class became more usual, he hasn’t been turning in homeworks and he had been getting into fights.
The girl remembered earlier at school when she saw Jungkook in the hallway. He was outside his designated class as he had his hands held up—a punishment known when someone is late in class. They shared a short glance at each other before Hana hurried her pace and avoided his eyes.
Jeon Jungkook why are you being like this” Hana mumbled under her breath.
 Chapter 12
   ~
Yoongi sighed as he took a look at the boy who invaded his bed. “Yah don’t mope around here all day. Go to school” The boy only rolled his back at his hyung—Yoongi blinked, baffled at his dongsaeng “Yah Jeon Jungkook” he stood from his seat and nudged the maknae with his foot “Jeon Jungkook”
Jungkook only groaned but Yoongi nudged him once more in which the boy finally roused with a frown. “Hyung!~” he whined as he squinted from the sunlight.
“Yah you didn’t go home last night again, your parents must’ve been so worried”
“Ughhhh” the boy groaned once again before collapsing back on the bed.
“Oi get up and go to school!” Yoongi shouted but Jungkook only pulled the covers to his head. “If you don’t get up I’ll call Park Jimin around to get you”
The boy’s eyes immediately bulged as he jumped off the bed right away, “Alright, alright I’m going!”  Yoongi smirked as he watched his dongsaeng gather his stuff, “Have fun in school” he called out on the maknae as he finally left his dorm.
Yoongi shook his head before he got back to his cup of coffee on his desk. Jungkook had been staying in his dorm for a couple of nights now, he had been going home late—one time he even came home drunk. He was worried for his dongsaeng but he understood why he was being like that.
Time will mend a broken heart. He reassured himself as he took a sip on his coffee. I just hope he doesn’t go overboard.
                                                         ~
“KIM HYERI!!!” a voice shouted with a very distinctive accent
Hyeri took a few seconds before she recognized the voice—almost immediately she frowned upon her unexpected acquaintance as she heard his footsteps getting closer from her behind.  “Bambam” she nodded at the panting boy beside her.
“Hyeri” he mirrored her action but soon broke out into a grin. “What you got there” he pointed with his lips in which Hyeri made a face and dodged his pointy lips.
“Bambam file” she shrugged casually
“What?!?”
Hyeri groaned, “Your file”
“Why do you have that?” O_O
“Mrs. Choi asked my class to research an idiotic person for homework.” Though it wasn’t 100% true, Hyeri replied.
Bambam grimaced at the girl “Tsss, as if! You’re dumber than me”
“Wow!” Hyeri scowled as she shoved the pieces of paper in her bag and placed both of her hand on her hips. “Just ‘cause you can speak two languages, doesn’t make you smarter!”
“Three actually and yes it does”
“Oh yeah? If you know so much, name a country that starts with the letter U” she challenged as she took out a strip of bubble gum from her pocket
Bambam rolled his eyes, “Europe of course!” he replied smugly
Hyeri blinked at the boy before shoving the unwrapped bubble gum in his mouth “Dumb ” she muttered before walking a head of him.
                                                         ~
If glares could kill the boy in front of Jeon Jungkook right now would be dead already—Jungkook just walked in the school gates when a boy from his year blocked his way. His eyes bore into his school mate but the boy merely smirked at Jungkook with his hands on his pocket.
“I heard you and Nam Hana broke up”
Jungkook didn’t respond; instead he gave him a get-to-the-point look.
“Did you have a chance to bang her? Is she good in bed?” the boy asked smugly but it didn’t take a second before Jungkook grabbed the boy by his collar and pinned him on the wall. “What did you asked?!” he shouted through his gritted teeth and wrapped his hand on the boy’s neck—
The boy smiled smugly, “I’m asking for a user's review before I bang he—“ Jungkook tightened his grip against the boy’s neck as his whole body shake from anger, he glared dangerously at the boy who started to choke. And with every second he glared at the boy, Jungkook only grew angier and angrier. Just as he was about to tightened his grip even more, a familiar voice cried out—
“Jungkook stop!!!” Hana screamed as she push passed the forming crowd and rushed to Jungkook’s side. “Jungkook…” she reached out and wrapped her arms around his torso from behind. “Stop please…” she whispered.
Flustered, Jungkook glanced down at her… His eyes trailed from her arms to the top of her head, his heart skipped a beat when Hana tightened her grip on him and he slowly relaxed and leaned on her touch, his hands slowly letting go of the boy on the wall.
…When he finally did, Hana looked up and smiled weakly at him, “thank you” she mouthed, they exchanged gazed but before Jungkook can even reply the head teacher, Mr. Ahn had already made his entrance—
“Alright. Alright show’s over students! Get to your lessons!” the head teacher dismissed making Hana let go of Jungkook and stood awkwardly beside him. Mr.Ahn glanced at the two in which the head teacher frowned. “Jeon Jungkook my office now. Nam Hana go to your class” Mr. Ahn instructed before walking away.
Hana was first to pull away from the gaze the both her and Jungkook were having. She slowly made her way to her first lesson, her face flushed. Jungkook watched her figure retreat with an ache on his chest as he lingered for her warmth
“Jeon Jungkook!” Mr. Ahn called out snapping him back to reality.
Chapter 13
 ~
Hana placed her chin on her palm as she tried to listen to her History teacher but everytime she tried to fixate her vision it only blurred as if everything was moving. Her face pale, she wiped the cold sweat forming on her forehead. She had been feeling nauseous since she got to school, something that she had been experiencing since… she found out.
The moment Mrs. Lee paused to take a sip on her bottle of water; Hana’s arm reached up and asked to be excused in class. Mrs. Lee looked at the pale girl in concern before she nodded with a scrunched forehead, “Go to the nurse Hana, will you? You don’t look so good” Hana merely nodded before she got up and headed to the door. Once she stepped out of the class her hand landed on the wall to balance her from her motion blurred vision, her lips quivered as she breathed out as if she had been holding her breathing.
Hana felt a surge from her gut and into , her free hand automatically covering as she took another step—
“Hana?”
A familiar voice made her looked up but before she could even reply, her legs made a run for it as both of her hands cupped , bile filling . The moment she got in the toilet her non-existent breakfast came spewing out, her vomit covering the toilet bowl as the air filled with digested stench.
Out of breath, Hana collapsed on the ground as she leaned her head on the wall, her eyes closed as she tried to even out her asymmetrical breathing.
She hated having to go through this everytime. Normally she’d be able to throw up before she even got to school. The girl grunted before she decided to stand up and flush the toilet, she was about to leave her cubicle when—
“…I know. Just— just give me some more time. I’ve cause so much pain in everyone… I’d just let them be for a moment—No its not— I will get you his son! I can have Jeon Jungkook wrapped around my finger in no time”
A gasped escaped Hana’s lips in which the figure turned around to see an occupied cubicle. The girl narrowed her eyes as she got closer to Hana’s cubicle. “Listen, I have a class now… I’ll call you back” the girl dismissed, she hung up on her phone as she tried to peek through the small opening.
“Hello? Anyone there?”
Hana covered as she tried to silence her heavy breathing.
“Yah! Come out! I know you’re there!!! If you don’t come out I’m gonna break this door”
This time round Hana straightened up as her forehead creased. Oh so cause a scene and attract people to confront me for the secret I overheard. How dumb.
“Yah!”
Irritated Hana opened her cubicle—
The moment it opened a gasped escaped the girl’s mouth, “H-hana” she stuttered.
Hana’s eyes widened, as horrified as the girl in front of her.

“Yuri”
~
Jungkook whistled, his hands on his pocket. As always he got sent out for dozing off in class. Pfft—  not my fault, Mr. Ahn’s lecture was way too boring. The boy thought as he recalled being sent to the head teacher’s office this morning.
Though, images of Hana flashed in his mind submerging Mr. Ahn’s lecture to disperse. He could still imagine her arms around his waist, her head against his back… His heart fluttered. It’s been so long since they got so close. Jungkook bit his bottom lip to compress his grin as thoughts of Hana kept flashing in his mind.
But a loud thud snapped him out of his trance. The boy looked up—and it was as if his heart stopped as he saw Nam Hana on the floor. He wasted no time and ran over to her. “Hana! Are you okay?” he asked, concern.
Hana looked up as she smiled weakly, “I’m fine…” I just felt dizzy. The moment she opened her cubicle door she had to get out of there, she couldn’t look at Park Yuri another second because if she did, she would probably wouldn’t be able to stop herself from plucking her hair bald.
“Hana wait up let me ex—“ Yuri came running from the corner but froze the moment she saw her best friend on Hana’s side “Ju-Jungkook” she stuttered, out of breath. Hana turned to glare at the girl.
“Yuri?” Jungkook said questioningly.
“Uhm…” she walked up at the couple. “Hey”
Hana scowled— huh the nerve!! Hyeri was right all along about you, Park Yuri.
Jungkook nodded at her before he turned his gaze back to Hana and looked at her worriedly, “Are you really okay? How did you fall? Are you hurting anywhere?” he asked one after another making Hana turn her attention to the boy on her side.
Overwhelmed, Hana couldn’t help but stare at his profile. The last time she was able to do this was when she was letting him go. But here she was once again, so close…
Why did you have to disregard me when Yuri came back? Hana completely understand Jungkook was probably trying to be a good friend but the way he looked at Yuri was so different from the way he looks at her. She knew he had feelings for Yuri from the way he acted since she came back. The only question remained unanswered in Hana’s mind; does he still have those feelings for Yuri?
I hope not. Park Yuri is a cunning, sly little bi—
“Hana? Hana? Hey are you still with us?”
Hana blinked as she looked up, her eyes met by the eyes she fell in love with, those chocolate brown eyes… she could stare at them forever
Suddenly a strong arm slipped beneath her knees as the other was wrapped around her waist and picked her up. Hana yelped as her arms instinctively wrapped around his neck as Jungkook started to lift her.
He looked down at her, his eyes filled with worry— Eyes boring in hers, her skin began to prickle in the strangest way. It annoys her how much Jeon Jungkook still have this effect on her.
“I’ll take you to the nurse’s office” he said snapping Hana from her daze as she nodded.
                                                         ~
“That’s it? That’s how you ended up here in the nurse’s office?” Hyeri asked dryly.
Hana nodded as she looked up at the two figures stood before her bedside.
“Jungkook brought you here when you excused yourself from class? That’s it?” Of course that’s not all of it but Hana wouldn’t spill everything here. Atleast not the part when she overheard Yuri’s conversation on the phone or the part when she threw up.
But Regardless Hana nodded again but this time she had a smile on her face. The mention of his name sends butterflies in her stomach. But her smile was soon replaced with a grimace when her best friend’s fingers flicked her forehead. “Aww!” she yelped
“Snap out of it Nam Hana! This is why you get your heart broken! He only brought you to the nurse office. That doesn’t change the fact that he’s been a to you.”
Hana pouted, “You don’t know the whole story.” She sulked
Hyeri couldn’t believe her ears. Is she really defending that guy?! She scoffed as she shook her head in disbelief but it stopped the moment her eyes landed on the boy next to her who had been awfully quiet. She looked at the boy, concerned. Something flickered in his eyes as he looked at Hana—a foreign emotion from his usual mischievous looks, could it bejealousy? Hyeri’s eyes stayed on him. Aish this guy, she muttered under her breath before she nudged him. When his eyes averted to her she gave him a look. Almost immediately the boy grinned, mischief masked his pained expression.
“Yah Hyeri don’t you think you’re being way too hard on Hana?” he chimed as he placed an arm on her shoulder but Hyeri knew how he’s faking his cheerful energy. But she scoffed nonetheless.
“You’re Thai so you wouldn’t understand” she retorted
The boy mocked a pained expression “Even if I’m Thai… I have feelings too” he pouted erupting a laughter from Hana. Bambam looked down at her and smiled. Good to know he can still make her laugh.
Chapter 14
  ~
Splashes of colours gradient in the sky as the sun roused from the horizon. It felt peaceful but somehow Bambam felt the opposite. Why does it feel like something about the colourful sky bothers him? The boy ruffled his hair before he shoved his hands in his jacket pockets. Before he can get lost in his morning daze once again, a hand landed on his head making his eyes roll. “Hyung!” he whined
The older male chuckled as he took the seat next to Bambam. “What’s up eh? You’ve been quiet since you got here?”
Bambam looked up to his hyung—Jaebum or JB as people call him. Him and the other members of their dance crew; GOT7 decided to go for a morning walk instead for their usual dawn dance practices-- They dance for fun but that wasn’t what Bambam was feeling at the moment. It was a first for JB to see him like that. He nudged the, once again, dazed boy beside him “Yah.”
He merely sighed and tilted his head to examine Bambam. “Is it a girl?” JB suddenly blurted with a smirk. Bambam shrugged but nodded, his eyes glint in confusion but JB only found this adorable.  A boy like Bambam is not the kind to fall or crush on girls that easily which was why a feeling like that is foreign for him.
“Is it Nam Hana? The girl from your math class?”
The boy’s eyes widened, “How—“
“She’s the only girl you ever hang around with” JB answered before Bambam could even finish his question. “Do you like her?”
“I don’t know…”
JB rolled his eyes, “You know but you’re in denial”
“I am?” Bambam asked innocently
“If you’re not why are you here and thinking about her huh?”
It was like a slap in the face—realization poured over him as he pursed his lips. Does he like Hana? Of course, she’s a friend of his—in fact, a very close friend. Something in her pulled him in right away, when she entered the room in a rush, her face flustered from her obvious running and the moment Mr. Park asked for the homework. Bambam watched the girl from the back of the room as she had a mental breakdown. She was rummaging through her stuff; she basically had her entire bag inside out. When their math teacher issued the girl an after school detention, he didn’t know what got into him when he hid his homework and dramatically blurted, “.” And pretended he forgot his homework. When in fact he was just curious of the girl, he wanted more time to take a good look at her.
…was it possible that—
No
No
No
Hana’s just a friend—Just a friend and nothing mo—those eyes… even if they twinkled of isolation and loneliness, it was the most beautiful thing in the world. And whenever that loneliness disappears even if it’s only for a split second it just made her look even prettier.  Whenever she flashes a smile, it feels like everything was in slow motion; just like in the movies.
His heart races whenever he sees her… whenever she spoke his name it only sends a shiver down his spine. His cheeks flushes whenever she laughs but most of all, he hurts when she hurt…
“Dang Bambam’s in too deep”
“Oh he is, alright. Look at him; this is not just a simple crush. This is something else”
“Awww my baby Bambam’s in love!”
“Shut up Jackson I told you to stop calling him that. It sounds so weird”
“You’re just jealous”
“Yah you two can you bicker later?”
“Aish! This dimsum! I was just happy Bambam’s in love.”
Bambam’s eyes grew wider as he clutched his chest—his heart had been beating so fast he felt breathless. LOVE. Is he…is he in love? Is that possible?
                                                         ~
A gagging noise was heard in the girl’s toilet. Hyeri grimaced as she entered the room. “Pathetic… bringing their pathetic selves in school drunk, after partying all weekend.” The girl grumbled “I feel sorry for these people. Drinking carelessly, destroying their liver—ugh”
However a girl behind the cubicle door froze. Oh no… She hurriedly got up and stayed as still as possible.
“Aish where is Nam Hana?!” Hyeri blurted as she examine herself in the mirror—after doing so she grabbed her phone from her bag and dialled Hana’s number.
*RING*
*RING*
*RING*
O_O the girl inside the cubicle jumped a little when her phone started to ring as it vibrated in her pocket.
Hyeri’s eyebrows creased as she turned around to cease towards the ringing sound. The moment her call was sent to voicemail the ringing in the toilets also stopped.  With a smirked tugged on her lips she slowly crept her way to the occupied cubicle.
“Nana~~~” she whispered spookily
Stay quiet Hana.
Keep still!
“Nam Hana~~~~”
No. Don’t give in!
“If you don’t open this door this second, the whole town will hear me scream”
Evil! Manipulative Kim HyeriAish!! Hana bit her lip as she reached for the lock but her hand retreated. What am I gonna tell herWhat if she finds out?
Impatient, Hyeri banged on the door. “Yah Nam Hana!”
Aisssh! Why dont my anti sickness work anymore?!
Hana mustered up all her courage before she bravely open the door which revealed Hyeri . Her arms were folded across her chest and her eyes studied her curiously before she narrowed her eyes at her, “Why were you throwing up, young lady?” she questioned as she leaned in closer to Hana’s face and looked at her with bulging eyes.
But Hana rolled her eyes at her best friend as she stepped back. “Nothing!” Hana answered guiltily, her eyes explored the entire room avoiding Hyeri’s eyes as she bit her bottom lip
“You’re lying to the wrong person Nam Hana. You do know I’m Kim Hyeri—your best friend since pre school.
There’s no use is there? Hana sighed before her shoulder slumped. “I was just feeling sick okay…” she admitted.
Hyeri replied with smug smile “I can tell. You don’t look very well. Look at the bags under your eyes! Gosh! You look like a zombie!”
“Gee thanks for the boost of self-esteem, Hye.”
“You’re welcome” Hyeri replied with a slight smirk. “But really what’s up with you? You look like you haven’t been sleeping for ages”
“I’m just tired. I was studying til’ dawn for the upcoming exam” lies.
Hyeri scowled as she poked Hana’s forehead with her middle and index finger. “Exams are not until for the next 3 months, idiot”
Hana winced as she rub her forehead. “Better to prepare now than later!” she retorted with a glare.
“Aish! Stubborn child”
“Unlike you”
“Totally” Hyeri said followed with a roll of her eyes.
                                                         ~
The afternoon sun smiles against the surface of earth as people enjoyed its ray with a cold beverage in their hands. Yoongi looked over the girl beside him as he smiled affectionately at her as she was fidgetting with the straw on her drink. She’s gone through a lot but despite that she always manages to smile and get through her day. He casually placed his arm on her shoulder and pulled her closer.
“O-oppa…” she stammered as she looked up at him hoping her cheeks wouldn’t give away her flustered state.  Yoongi looked down at her and smiled. “Relax Yuri-ah okay? I just want to let the other boys know you’re off limits” he said casually as heat took over her cheeks.
She quickly looked down, trying to hide her tomato red cheeks with her hair. What’s happening? First, Yoongi called her out for a drink, now he’s being protective of her?
Yoongi shook his head amused and he smiled as a memory of his ex-girlfriend flashed in his mind—;
“Park Jinhee!”
The girl whirled with an annoyed look, “What do you want Yoongi!?!?” she screamed, her voice hoarse as she took off her heels and her tight dress.
He smirked as he strode his way towards her before he cupped both of her cheeks in his palms and lean his forehead on hers, their faces so close—his warm breath spread across her face as the both of them stare in each other’s eyes. Jinhee hated how easily her annoyance seemed to disperse with just a touch from him.
A warm liquid met Yoongi’s finger tips as she sniffed making Yoongi frowned and closed his eyes in frustration God damn it Yoongi you made her cry again, he wiped her tears with his thumb before he pulled her closer to him and before she knew it… soft lips hushed her sobs. He kissed her softly repeatedly as he mumbles, “I’m sorry” in between. “I made you cry again…”  Jinhee nodded in their kiss wanting him to deepen their kiss but he kept mumbling his sorries.
Frustrated, Jinhee wrapped her arms around his neck and shushed him with a more passionate kiss. The kiss deepened as he pulled her closer, his hands s on her back as her hers tangled themselves in his hair. They savoured the moment before Yoongi pulled away and smiled at her
“Please get jealous more often” Jinhee said, breathless.
Yoongi smirked before he gave her lips another peck. “These lips are mine… No other men can touch these. No one else can have you but me. You’re mine” he said between kissing her.
“and You’re mine” she replied boldly with an devilish smile.
Yoongi smiled. That was their last kiss before she left him. He didn’t know it was though… Yoongi sighed regardless before he turned to look at Yuri on his side.
Go take care of Hana. I’ll look out for Yuri. Don’t let yourself lose the person you love.” That’s what he told Jungkook. He promised to look out for Yuri—a girl who he only see as his younger sister.
~
Yuri felt a tinge of guilt within her as Yoongi still have his arm around her protectively. Everyone had been nothing but kind to her yet she was here to hurt them—to rip them apart. Guilt had been eating her from the inside out and she can no longer take it anymore… but she can’t back down now…
She can’t.
 Chapter 15
~
“Hana have you seen Yuri?”
Hyeri watched her bestfriend roll her eyes and made a disgusting face before she turned to look up at Taehyung. “No” she answered uninterested, making Hyeri’s eyebrows rise from curiosity.
The boy pouted as he took the empty seat next to Hyeri. She nudged him and nodded, “Why you looking for her? Doesn’t she normally hang around with you guys?”
“That’s why we’re looking for her since she wasn’t in our normal hang out place.”
Another boy joined them as he took a bite of his sandwich. “Yoongi hyung would be mad” he muttered
“Why do you need to babysit her? She’s old enough to handle herself” Hana blurted irritably.
“Okay what’s up? Who are you and what did you do to Nam Hana?” Hyeri called out as she placed a hand over Hana’s forehead, checking if she has a fever. “You have been throwing up this morning… that could be it…” she pondered to herself as she looked at her bestfriend suspiciously. “It could be your mind playing…” Hana lightly slapped Hyeri’s hand, “Yah!” she scolded
“Yeah apparently you’ve been throwing up Hana-yah. Rumours are going around” Taehyung said as he waggle his eyebrows, hinting on something
“Does Jungkook know?” Jimin said, joining in before he high five Taehyung
“Yah you two. Hana’s not pregnant!” Hyeri said dismissing the rumours that were going around and whacked them with her water bottle as they grimaced, Hyeri suddenly turned to her bestfriend, “You’re not…aren’t you Hana?”
So rumours are going around… Paled, Hana wet her lips as she forced a smile, “’Course not!”  But the two boys only looked at each other and smirked. “Sure~” they said in unison, gaining a roll of her eyes from Hyeri.
“Where’s Bangkok? I actually miss him when these two are around”
“He never came in at all this morning” Hana sighed making the two boys in front of them pout, “So we’re not good enough for you huh…”
“You’re just here cause you’re looking for Yuri” Hana replied, her tone bitter making Hyeri’s curiosity rouse higher.
“Is it because you broke up with Jungkook? Our friendship means nothing anymore?” Jimin cried as he made sobbing sounds. Hyeri rolled her eyes before she pushed Jimin off his seat and sat next to her bestfriend. “Seriously are you really my best friend? Nam Hana? Is that you?”
Hana huffed air heavily as she held her temples. “Sto—“she wavered as the pain on her head hit her, she has been feeling light headed and had been struggling to breath evenly. Hana blinked before she tried to continue her sentence but she saw only the floor bounce to the ceiling and the room spin for a moment, then darkness consumed her, and she fell. Hana lay unconscious on the floor. Her hair lay in a tangled nimbus as crimson dropped from her nose. One arm lay crookedly under her causing her back to curve to one side.
Taehyung was quick to react and suddenly burst out from his seat. He slid his arm beneath her knees as his other arm took her back, he lifted her as he frantically turned to Jimin and Hyeri, “Quick call an ambulance!” he instructed, Jimin nodded intensely and reached for his phone. Taehyung started making his way out the canteen leaving the surprised students behind the door as Hyeri followed Taehyung, opening every door for him.
When they reached the nurse’s office, the nurse jumped right up the moment she saw the unconscious Hana on Taehyung’s arms, she quickly ushered Taehyung towards the bed to place Hana down.
“We called an ambulance already” he informed as the nurse started to examine Hana. She nodded as she checked Hana’s pulse. The nurse tapped beneath her head checking if there were any bumps or any bleeding, once she made sure there’s nothing to worry about she turned to Taehyung and Hyeri. “What exactly happened?”
“We were just talking when she fainted. She was really pale and had been throwing up this morning”
The nurse blinked at the symptoms, it sounds rather familiar to her, she turned to glance at Hana who was still unconscious. “Were you eating when she passed out?”
Hyeri nodded.
Bulimia? “Does she usually throw up after she eat?”
Hyeri blinked, “I’m not sure… I’ve caught her throwing up this morning the toilets”
Okay…Pregnant? The girl could be pregnant… After all teenage pregnancies have been becoming more common. But then again… this could just be from exhaustion. The nurse clasped her hands, “We’ll wait for the paramedics, and she needs a proper examination. Since this is not the first time she’s been here this week. I have a suspicion this could either be something as simple as exhaustion or something worst. We need to send her to the hospital for a full examination.”
Taehyung and Hyeri nodded,
“One of you should go in the ambulance with her.”
“I’ll go” Hyeri volunteered before she glanced at Taehyung who nodded in agreement. “I’ll get the hyungs and Jungkook to meet you there” he replied with a smile
“I’ll ring her parents home” the nurse said as she grabbed the phone. Taehyung on the other hand tapped Hyeri on the shoulders, “School is ending soon. Me and the hyungs will catch up soon. We’ll try to find Jungko—“
“Ugh Jungkook is not needed” Hyeri muttered “Maybe Bambam…” she whispered beneath her breath making Taehyung roll his eyes “Whatever I’m gonna go find Jungkook~~” he sing song before he rushed out of the nurse’s office.
                                                         ~
She doesn’t know if she was dreaming or her eyes were playing an illusion in her but she could’ve sworn her childhood crush was standing before her. Hyeri gaped at boy who just came out of Hana’s hospital room. She was stood only inches away from him as he held a clip board and have a white coat on.
“Woohyun oppa?” she managed to uttered as she took long strides towards the boy. Woohyun is Hana’s cousin, who grew up with her. He was actually the reason why Hyeri and Hana became friends. Hyeri remembered it quite well—she was on the playground on her own because no other kid would want to play with her, that was when Woohyun came to the slide she was staying at and attempted to become her friend but she only pushed him off of the slide ignoring the fact that he looked a lot bigger and a few years older than her.  Nam Hana came running to her cousin’s rescue and challenged a fight to Kim Hyeri—the playground’s bully. Hyeri smiled at her mini reminisce… Now would you look at that? Nam Woohyun is now a doctor...
The boy looked up and grinned, “Oh Hyeri-ah long time no see” he waved
“Yeah… I didn’t know you work here?”
Woohyun rubbed his nape nervously, “Well, I don’t… I came when Soohyun imo called me.”
Hyeri’s eyebrows rouse out of curiosity but she decided to let it go as she shook her head “How’s Hana?” she asked, worried
“Uhm.. well” he flickered through the papers in his clipboard and took a look at his examinations… There was a flash of worry in his eyes, as he scanned the papers and faked a grin at the girl infront of him as Hana’s voice started to replay itself in his mind like a broken record player. Keep it as a secret. Don’t tell them anything. “She’s alright for now, she must’ve worked herself up too much that’s why she fainted.” True. “All her vital organs are normal” Lies.
The girl heaved a sigh a relief and nodded, “Can I go see her?” she asked eagerly but Woohyun made a face--
“She’s still asleep. I suggest you stay here and let her rest for some time” Actually she’s been crying, she told me to don’t let anybody in.  Woohyun said as he excused himself before he felt anymore shameful of himself.
Hyeri’s eyebrows knitted together as she watched the boy’s retreating figure bygone behind the double doors at the end of the hallway. She shrugged as she took a seat in the waiting room when suddenly she heard a huge ruckus behind the double doors making her narrow her eyes. “People need to chill” she huffed as she leaned her back on the chair.
                                                         ~
6 boys frantically ran in the reception, making the lady behind the desk jump a little as she hung up the phone. “Yes how may I—“
“WE’RE LOOKING FOR NAM HANA. SHE WAS RUSHED HERE EARLIER” a boy in a bowl haircut spoke loudly as if he was in a rush as he tried to even his breathing—evident that they have been running.
The nurse behind the desk jumped back a bit at his gruff tone. “M—may I please know what your relation with the patient?” she asked, stuttering.
“Yah Taehyung-ah we need to be a relative to get in.” Jin whispered.
The boys looked at each other guiltily before Taehyung clasped his hand together as an idea popped in his head. His hand grabbed Namjoon who seemed to be thinking quite deeply. Taehyung shoved him forward and pointed at him excitedly, “Him. This is her brother!!” he grinned then looked back at the 5 other boys and winked.
“Nam Joon!” he exclaimed flashing the nurse his infamous rectangular smile. Namjoon’s eyes grew like saucers as he tried to escape but the other 5 boys smiled knowingly as they tried to restrain the frantic Namjoon
Unsure the nurse was about to call security when Woohyun came out of the double doors. He blinked for a second when his eyes landed on the six boys by the desk. “A—are you--” he gulped. “Do you know Hana?” he asked.
All six boys rushed towards the baby-faced doctor. “Are the doctor assigned for her?” Jimin asked
Woohyun blinked a couple of times before replying, “Yes”
“We have her brother here! He’s been so worried--“ Taehyung announced and once again shove Namjoon at the front making Woohyung raised his eyebrows, amused and folded his arms across his chest.
The silver haired boy scratched the back of his head nervously, “Hi… I’m—“
“not Hana’s brother” Woohyun cut. “Hana’s an only child.” He stated as he stepped forward intimidatingly making the 6 boys grew small. “What are your business?”
The boy wearing a beanie stepped forward bravely, “We’re Hana’s friends. We came to check if she’s alright.” He said as his eyes bore as intimidatingly as Woohyun.
Woohyun opened his mouth to speak when a girl’s voice interrupted his, “Aish yah Oppa. They’re with me. They helped get Hana to the hospital”
Kim Hyeri came stomping out of the double doors and towards the six boys, “Yah come on, keep me company in the waiting area” she said. The boys simply nodded and followed Hyeri—Jimin and Taehyung not letting themselves pass without pulling a tongue out on Woohyun.
Irritated, Woohyun stomped his foot aggressively making the two boys hurried their pace, catching up to the group.
“Hyung do you think Yuri will find Jungkook?” Taehyung asked as he placed one of his arms on Yoongi’s shoulder
“She said she knows where he’s at. She’ll find him” the older male reassured
Taehyung tilted his head on the side for a bit as he heaved air, “I don’t know something’s strange…” he said in an undertone.
“She’s a little ” Hyeri answered casually.
                                                         ~
A cold breeze brushed on her face as she walked mindlessly and she repeated earlier happenings.  Hana was rushed in the hospitalShe looked pretty pale. That day… when she saw her in the bathroom… she was throwing up… Are-- Are the rumours true? Is Nam Hana pregnant? Oh god--
She cupped to silence her sobs. How—how can she finish what she has to do when there’s a big possibility Jungkook’s the father? She may have been cause a miscarriage… Oh no…
Yuri clutched her chest with her free hand. She cant do this anymore. She feels like dying. She can’t do this to the people she cares about. She reached the cemetery; it was just as she remembered it… spooky, dark and gloomy.  At a distance she saw a familiar figure laying a bouquet of flower on the ground.
“I’m sorry Jungkook…”
As she was about to step forward taps of stilettoes were heard as a slender woman in a fitted A line skirt, white blouse and a blazer came striding towards Yuri. Crimson stained her lips, her eyes drawn sharply and her eyebrows arched highly as white pearls hugged her neck. “Park Yuri, nice seeing you again” she nodded, her words honeyed.
A gasp escaped Yuri’s lips, “Ji-Jinhee unnie!” she whispered breathily.
The older female smiled sweetly at her, “I’ve had enough of seeing you make a pity out of yourself” her smile faltered as she stare down Yuri with her piercing eyes, “Now we’re doing it my way, come with me” her hands came to grab the girl’s wrist but Yuri was quick to dodge.
“No! I’ve come this far! I can’t let my mother die! I ne-need to do this!” tears stained the girl’s cheek as she looked at Jinhee with pleading eyes.
Jinhee pursed her lips into a thin line before she sighed, “You don’t need to,” she slightly smiled at the hysterical girl, “We got your mom. We got her back here” she said breaking out with a grin.
Yuri’s eyes grew as her mind process the words. “Really?!?!”
“Yes!” Jinhee exclaimed with a smile. The girl couldn’t help but smile back as her palms enveloped her face—tears began to fall as she breath heavily, mixed with relief and happiness. “Oh.. oh my god… I cant believe—“ suddenly she looked up as the colour in her face drained, “What about Minjun?! My step dad?” the look of horror was evident in her profile
Jinhee gave her an encouraging smile, “For now? He’s thrown in jail. Trial starts next month”
Yuri cupped happily. Is this what freedom feels like?
Jinhee let her celebrate for a few minutes before she hid her smile once again, “We still need to sort things out, Yuri. Obviously your previous step father is very powerful, meaning he has a lot of connection. We’re gonna need to put you and your mother into the protection program.”
Regardless, Yuri nodded,
“Are you okay with that? That means new identities, new life…”
“I don’t care how much we need to change; I just need to live in freedom and with my mum”
Jinhee felt sorry for the girl in front of her. All she want is a simple life… The older female placed a hand on Yuri’s shoulder, she gave it a slight squeeze, “You will soon but for now, let’s go meet your mom?”
Yuri grinned and nodded intensely. Jinhee chuckled, “Come on~”
                                                         ~
The smell of antiseptic hovered in the room as she sniffled. Tears kept coming as if they have a mind of their own. Stop crying damn it! Hana scolded herself but the words of her cousin kept ringing in her head, ‘You’re gonna die sooner if you keep being this stubborn!’, ‘I told you to quit your job. It would only exhaust you more!’
She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to supress her aching chest.
Time passes when Hana decided to get up from her bed and ripped the IV needles from her hand—she could still hear people outside her room, must be Hyeri and the others she thought. She quickly fixed her hair and walked towards the window. Thankfully her room is on the ground floor she can quickly escape.
As the afternoon end the sun began to set, splashes of colours covered the sky, with a heavy heart Hana run as fast as she could, the wind whipping her hair everywhere. She just wanted to be home and curl up in a ball. She scoffed the memory of her breaking up with Jungkook flashed in her mind, yeah for ‘happiness’…  Sure.
Sarcasm covered each thought.
It made her even more miserable, the time she needed him the most—the number of times she tried to tell him…
A buzz from his phone made him smile again— he laughed wholeheartedly before he started typing away again, while he let out a snort from apparently a funny message they’re obviously conversing about.
"Who are you texting?" I asked casually
"No one" he muttered as he shove his phone on his pocket and started to get up from the couch.
"Hey where are you going?"
"At Yuri’s" Pfft.. Of course.
"Will you come over later?" I asked before he could leave
"No, I’d probably stay at Yuri’s" he replied not even bothering to look back. "Bye" was the last thing he said before he slammed the door
"Wait— Jungkook—" I needed to tell you something
Tears streaked down her cheeks as she struggled to breathe. Her sobs become heavier the moment she reached her front door.
He was there. Waiting… Why does he only come now? He dyed his hair back to black… Hana collapsed on the ground, dejected, swollen with emotions, her vision blurred as her eyes bled her pain.
Within seconds he felt his heart drop the moment his eyes landed on her. Panic, evident in his face as he jumped up to grab her in his arms. He pursed his lips tightly as his eyebrows furrowed.
“I hate you!” Hana cried as she hit his chest harshly. “I hate you Jungkook!”
He tightened his jaw supressing every pain in chest as she repeat the very word he hoped she would never say to him. He let her hit him… as much as she. “I hate you… I hate you…” she whispered as her punches slowed. “I hate you” she said one more time before her energy ran out.
Jungkook bit his bottom lip as he tried not to cry.
He rocked her back and forth steadily until she finally calmed down, his warm hands rubbed against her back constantly making her feel safe… and protected as if he just rubbed out all of her anger and fear away. Hana snuggled closer to him enough for her to smell his scent.
Just as silence became abundant between them—
“You dyed your hair back to black…” Hana grumbled making Jungkook smiled slightly, his arms around her tightened
“You noticed,” his smile was apparent in voice
“I miss your red hair” she whispered
A grin suddenly plastered on his face, “you do?”
Hana nodded “You said red represents happiness…”
Jungkook pursed his lips as he breath heavily “Yeah? I guess I’m not happy anymore” Hana looked up at him and pouted, “Wae?Why?”
“You left me” he said sadly as he poked her nose cutely
Hana frowned, “I miss this… I miss you…”
“I miss you too” he whispered as he placed his lips on top of her head and she pressed her ears against his chest while she squeezed her eyes shut. His heart beat matches hers; maybe his could possibly be beating faster.
“I love you” he muttered, “I’m sorry I’ve neglected you.” A familiar hot, salty liquid flooded his cheeks. “My whole world collapsed when you left” he confessed making her heart ached. “I miss you… I miss you Nam Hana”
Hana bit her lip. I love you Jungkook.
How can she possibly tell him? How can she tell him she’s dying?
Hana squeezed her eyes shut again as she savoured the moment and hoped for it to last.

Last Chapter
The orange sky reflected from the window to the cutlery in front of him. Bambam pointed his lips as he puffed out his inflated cheeks and tapped his fingers on the table.  Here he is again another one of his parents’ engagement dinner with their investors. Every month they had been trying to set him up to a dinner with the investors’ daughter, this was the second time he got caught. Last time the daughter didn’t show up. He can’t blame her to be honest, he’s actually thankfully she didn’t show—that means she’s not interested too. Bambam let out another heavy sigh making his parents look at him disapprovingly but he took no notice of this instead he glanced at his wrist watch.
Hana must in her shift by now… How much longer do I need to wait?
Obvious in her eyes, his mother was irritated at her son’s behaviour. She averted her gaze to the other two parties on their table and smiled apologetically which they mirrored as an empty chair across from Bambam still needed to be filled.
But as if on cue--
A sudden burst in the door made everyone in the room looked up—“I know I’m late, I had to find Hana she ranawa—“ in the midst of putting her earrings on as she walked in but almost tripped when she saw the blonde haired boy looking back at her with the same bulging eyes. Nam Hyeri gulped… slowly making her way to the once empty chair.
Silence became abundant in the room, Hyeri merely nodded at the boy in front of her. While both of their parents grinned with a knowing look as they nod at each other.
“You know about Bambam right Hyeri-ah?” Doojun, Hyeri’s dad said, smiling
Bambam scoffed as he recalled that day;
Flashback

 End of flashback
So that’s why
Hyeri bit her lip as she looked down; the same shade of the sunset glow tinted her cheeks. Bambam blinked repeatedly as he stared at her, processing the words she said as she was going in… I’m pretty sure I heard Hana…
A roar of laughter filled the room at Hyeri’s flustered state and Bambam’s unreadable expression.
“Mom! Dad!” Hyeri hissed.
Bambam on the other hand stayed quiet, he blinked before focussing his attention back to the girl in front of him, “Did you say Hana earlier?” he blurted
“What?” Hyeri blinked
“When you came in, you mentioned Hana… Did anything happen to her?”
She stared at him for a good second before releasing the air she unconsciously been holding, “They’re looking for her now…” she mumbled causing his eyebrows to knit together, “Looking for her?” he said questioningly as he tilted his head on the side slightly, confused.
“We sent her to the hospital earlier bu—“
“WHAT?!” Bambam shoot up, slamming his palms on the marbled table.
Hyeri jumped slightly and blinked at him, “She passed out during lunch so we call—“
“WHAT!!?!”
She let out an exasperated sigh and glared at him, “Interrupt me again and I will personally kick your back to Bangkok”
“Kim Hyeri!” her mother scolded but she ignored it and only glared at the boy in front of her,
“Long story, short Hana went missing in her hospital room…”
Without another more word Bambam gathered his blazer from his chair and head for the door
“Bambam where do you think you’re going?” his father asked sternly
“I need to go look for her” he replied nonchalantly and turned to Hyeri, “Are you coming?” She smiled and head towards him,
“Why the heck not eh?” she cheered and took her heels off. “We’ll be back guys!” she waved before Bambam grabbed her wrist and bolted out of the building leaving their parents dumbfounded.
“Are there anyone else looking for her?”
“Yeah Jungkook’s friends and Hana’s cousin are” Hyeri pants as she try to keep up with his pace
“Where are they looking?”
Hyeri glanced up at him; he never looked this serious before… she blinked repeatedly as she clutched her chest, why is her heart beating rapidly... Cause you’re running idiot she scolded to herself.
“Yah Hyeri!!” Bambam shouted through his gritted teeth, his impatience obvious from his tone
“Wh-what?!” heat took over her cheeks as she looked down, breathless
“Where are the others looking?”
“Ahh…uhm… I’m not quite sure, let’s just go to her she lives she must’ve gone there—“
“No need” He let go of her wrist and panted. “We’re here already”
Hyeri blinked before her eyes landed on her wrist then at him—he was trying to even out his breathing as he ruffled his hair messily, his eyes darting from one side to another before Hyeri noticed something in his eyes the moment his eyes landed on two familiar figures. She saw something break in him.
“She’s safe…” he whispered and turned to Hyeri and smiled weakly, “You blurted the news so dramatically” he joked but his eyes beg the differ, something along the lines of; ‘You should’ve told me earlier so I found her before he did’
Bambam looked up the sky, different shades of colours splashed across it—similar from the sun rise this morning. Now he knows why the colourful sky bothered him. He felt wronged, somehow he envied the sky ‘cause even if the sun leaves, Atleast its light will come back in the morning, where as his heart would still be left dark and empty.
Bambam shifted on his heels and started heading back. “I love you too” it was faint but he was sure it was Hana and it felt like he had been stabbed in the back as Hyeri followed him quietly…
~
He walked quietly up on to the platform; he looked up at the big clock on the wall. Anyone would’ve thought he’s going to jump—Hyeri tugged on his sleeve and looked at him worriedly, “Yah are you okay?” he flashed her an undeceivable  smile. “I am” he replied.
“Why we here?”
“Well… you followed me here…”
“Yeah, I’m asking why you came here?”
“To go home?” he replied as if it was the most obvious answer
“You don’t need to take the subway to go home…” Hyeri replied, confused
“How—“ oh yeah she had my files, he shook his head—“I’m going to my grandma’s”
The girl infront of him frowned as she blinked, totally puzzled.
He only put an arm on her shoulder, “If you’re gonna be my future fiancée you gotta meet my grandma first and see if she approves of you” he chimed, at the same time the tram pulled over and slid its doors open. The two of them entered the transportation and took a seat.
A good half an hour passed, Bambam held Hyeri close to him as her head leaned on his shoulder—she fell asleep and he’s making sure she isn’t leaning close to strangers. The tram stopped for another stop when another young man entered and took the seat beside him. He shifted to make more room for the new passenger.
“Yes Soohyun imo… They found her?!” the young man sighed in relief, “Thank goodness… I told her to quit her job in the café and she wouldn—“
Bored Bambam averted his attention on his phone; he had no interest in listening to a stranger’s phone conversation. But as if on cue his phone rang,
‘Mom’ the caller id read making him bit his lip. “Heeeey mom~” he answered nervously but almost immediately he pulled the phone far away from his ear as his mom sharted shouting form the other line.
“Geez mom…” he mumbled as he slowly put the phone against his ear.
[Yah! Where are you?! Do you know how mad your father is?!]
“I’m fine mom, we found her. Thanks for the concern” sarcasm masked his words
[Kunpimook Bhuwakul! Where is Hyeri? Did you take care of her huh?]
“She’s fine mom…she’s with me”
[Take good care of her young man. She our investor’s daughter and may be your possible wife]
His heart dropped as he looked at the sleeping girl on his shoulder. “Bu—“
[No buts. You’re in so much trouble already]
He sighed heavily, “Mom I’m not gonna marry someone I don’t love”
[Yah do you how the economy works? Do you wanna live in the streets huh? You gotta learn how to stay on the top to live—in this case you need to sacrifice your—“
This time his blood boil, he was brought up with money and wealth, most of the time he’d let his parents control his life—one of which is moving away from his old friends and moving to a foreign country. He didn’t mind it, he knew his parents needed to do this to run their company but why do they need to control everything? Why do they need to plan out his life before he can even enjoy it…
“Mom” he cut in his voice dark, making his mother stopped abruptly. “I’m not gonna be force into marriage. I’m sure Hyeri wouldn’t want that as well. So please….” He held his temples frustratingly “I’d rather love someone I can’t have than have someone I can’t love” he mumbled softly.
The other line was silent and so is everything else. Everything became silent in his mind it was as if he was the only one there, he felt stoke.
“Imo, Nam Hana is so stubborn.” Bambam’s eyes shoot to the person next to him. Did he just say… He looked at him horried, it was as if his mind have a mind of its own that picks up Hana’s name so easily in the crowd. “She can’t ever listen to anyone. I told her to quit working on that café cause it will exhaust her even more… especially with 4 hours of chemo.”
Bambam blinked his heart thumping rapidly, chemoIsn’t that a treatment for cancer patients?
No. No. No. This can’t be… This guy can’t be talking about Nam Hana that he knows.
“Hyeri was the one who sent her to the hospital. Yeah… I don’t think anyone knows. She didn’t want to let them know, I had to lie” the young man nodded, “Well, I’m gonna have to examine her again imo… She ran away and took off her IV needles.”
There was a pause,
“Don’t worry, I wont let her lose the battle imo. I will do everything…”
Bambam breath exaggeratedly when he felt a hand land on his hand. He looked beside him and saw Hyeri’s eyes looking at him, she looked broken. They didn’t say anything to each other but their gaze said something else and they’re having a hard time to process in their mind that--
Nam Hana has cancer.

EXTRAS:
There won't be a sequel of HSC guys @_@ but since some are curious or are still confuse, I decided to reveal the plans I scraped XD
Bambam becomes the hopelessly in love best friend who masks his feelings with grins and jokes as he watch Hana and Jungkook eventually get closer again. (He basically becomes the male version of Hana at the start of the fic) as Hyeri watch over him in pity.
There would be an episode where Bambam confronts Hana of her illness and Hana would ask him to keep it as a secret-- this would result in creating a tension between him and Jungkook as he grew suspicious as of why Hana becoming more dependent of Bambam.
On its final episode the tension built from jealousy will contour Jungkook's outburst, to both Hana and Bambam-- resulting with misunderstanding mishap and exchange of hurtful words.
With a few days of not speaking to each other, Hana became weaker because of her illness. She then reveals to Bambam that she no longer attend her chemo sessions because she've already lost hope as her cancer just been diagnosed as terminal-- meaning there's no way out.
After a week Jungkook would finally come to his senses and takes a courage to apologize to Hana. However with Hana growing weak she wont let herself be seen by him. And so they spoke between the wooden door and made up. In that night a promise was made, to see each other for breakfast the next day.
But when the morning came Jungkook was only greeted by Hana's mother with a CD on her hands.
Jungkook would never found out Hana's condition and only finds out about this from the CD Hana left for him.
Here's a snippet~
"I'm sorry for not telling you..." she looked down before she looked up again and smiled weakly. "Now i know I won’t be there everyday, but theres another part to this tape. Play it and maybe you’ll feel me there. Never forget me. I love you, forever."
Suddenly the screen went black and Jungkook rubbed his eyes. Clips of her and him, the rest of the boys. Random clips of them played-- outtakes and bloopers. Her laugh echoed through his mind
and he broke down completely as the darkness of the night engulef him. He cried on the floor, clutching on to her necklace he gave her. He was alone, dejected and broken. It felt like his whole world left him.
