Since young, I have always been hoping for a normal life. Girls around my age live a peaceful life, stressing over only minor things like schoolwork and whatsnot. Finally today, I have the chance to start anew! My mother has finally agreed to move house after my non-stop whining. No matter how guilty I felt towards my mother for making her leave her job just to move to a new location, I know that I can no longer live in that house any second longer. That haunted house. How did I know that my house is haunted? Normal people feel spirits around them, but not me. It was never meant for me to be born that way. I was born, with none other than an ability to see ghosts! I couldn't understand what was happening to me when I first started seeing them when I was around 6 years old, but as I grew older, I slowly understood what it meant, that others could not see what has always been normal to me. Due to that reason, I was ostracized in school and as a result, my schoolmates started calling me Gui Gui, which is mandarin for ghost. 

"Ying Jie, I really hope that this new house will be fine, for both you and me. No more spirits, no more crying in the middle of the night, and definitely no more paranoid encounters." my mum sighed. Like all parents, my mum has never believe for a single second that I have this ability. Whenever I react to spirits around me, my mum sees them as me being emotionally unstable. In order to help me fight this non-existent illness she thinks I have, she agreed to move house.

"Come on mum, I wouldn't want to see them as well! If there ever comes a day when I lose this ability of mine, I'll definitely open a party just to celebrate me finally having a chance to live my life!" I exclaim.

"We are finally at our destination. Ying Jie, maybe you should look around to see if this house is to your liking? I really hope it is babygirl. Mummy can't afford to move house anymore." my mum said.

"There's no need for me to walk around. Usually, if they are present in the house, they will be drawn towards me naturally. You can just relax and enjoy our new house mummy." I replied as I stepped into the house. The house looks new, even though we have yet to start furnishing it. It is definitely bigger than my old house, but somehow I can feel something strange creeping towards me. "MUM, WHERE IS MY ROOM?!"

"IT'S ON THE SECOND STOREY, THE FIRST ROOM ON YOUR RIGHT!" my mum shouted back.

The stairs creak as I apply pressure, walking up one step at a time. So far so good. There's a room, which I assume it's going to be my mum's, on the right, with the corridor ending with a balcony. Mum said it was on the left. I took in a deep breath, pushing the uneasy feeling I had when I first stepped into the house and push my door to my room slowly. I squint my eye, not yet prepared to see what is in store for me. After giving myself a gentle knock on the head and whispering a silent encouragement, I open my eyes and I saw a bed frame with no mattress on it. That's good. Nothing strange. As I slowly turn around to face my window, I felt my heart sink. No... Please... NOT AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I realize that I accidentally post the unfinished chapter one. SO SORRY. Ok first chapter done! I'm sorry that the chapters for this story is a lot shorter with comparison to The Heart Of Stone. This story was my first attempt so I guess my brain don't really work that well in the past. All things aside, I hope that old readers (who have read this story before), will like my BETA version (cause I change quite a lot of things), and new readers will love my story and in turn will move on to read the other stories I have written/translated.
