Every time his lips parted, every time he spoke you merely smiled. This relationship was nothing but a ruse; something created under false pretenses. You wouldn’t believe it, you wouldn’t fall for it. He didn’t love you.

He couldn’t have loved you.

No matter what you wished for or how genuine his words were, you truly believe that he was deceiving you so even if you hoped that he truly loved you, even if he didn’t … you hoped that he’d continue feeding you these all too sweet lies.
