Wings
Description
In a world where light and dark clash, Chaerin doesn't think it's possible to be too safe.
But she meets someone, someone she likes to describe as heaven and hell all fused together in one gorgeous mess. And her world tips on its axis, but Chaerin isn't really complaining, she really isn't. After all, she just met a Dark Angel.
And she's seeing light for the first time.
Foreword
Chaerin can't say she knows the day she met Dara, because she can't really name the day she started working at the local Panda Express.
Dara was always just another random worker there; Chaerin didn't like looking at people's faces very closely if she didn't know them. She just remembers that she thought "Dara" was a considerably cute name, but if you asked Chaerin she'd say approaching someone because of their name is a bit farfetched, isn't it?
She was cautious. Probably a little too cautious, she would think sometimes. But that thought would never linger because in Chaerin's life, it wasn't a big deal to be a little guarded and maybe a little crazy.
She never took notice of very many people or things in her life until she saw Dara rushing out of the restaurant. And if you asked her now, she'd probably say that's the day she truly started living.
"Kitty, we're low on orange chicken!" Chaerin hears a voice call from the front of the restaurant. She stops cooking for a second to wipe her sweat and yell back.
"Shut up, rat! You told me two minutes ago!" She hears Seungri cackle loudly. ing annoying. Shaking her head, she finishes the chicken and brings it up to the front because no one else is ever around to take it for her.
She sloppily dumps it into the empty silver tray, cursing Seungri under her breath. "Why do people eat this junk anyways?" she absentmindedly asks. "It's so–"
"Whoa Dara, where ya goin'?" Seungri cuts her off, looking up curiously at a petite girl that's rushing around the place at lightning speed. Dara doesn't reply, just hastily grabs her bag and sprints out the double doors.
"Hey, you still have four hours before the shift ends!" he shouts, but the door just jingles a little and slams shut with the wind. Chaerin frowns curiously.
"Whatever, it's her problem if she doesn't get paid," Seungri mutters to himself, mixing Chaerin's chicken with a spatula and putting on a fake gummy smile as the door jingles again and more customers enter.
Chaerin keeps cooking her gross orange chicken alone in the steaming hot kitchen and wondering why people eat this junk anyways, but she can't stop thinking about that Dara girl. She can't stop thinking about how she's never really seen that girl before but she's suddenly really curious, and she can't stop thinking about how many problems it might cause if she approached her, but she can't stop thinking about how much she wants to approach her anyways.
As her shift comes to an end, Chaerin tries to ignore her wings that are threatening to show themselves and the girl that's filling her head frighteningly quickly.
