City Lights

Description

You pointed your gun at his heart with trembling hands as you glared at him, furious and afraid at the same time. You croaked through your tears as they fell down your burning cheek. "W-why?" He started to almost chuckled as he stared at the gun pointed to his chest. "It isn't too late to go back now, if you just turn yourself in-"

"And then what? Jail? No prison is where I'm going to be." He said as he lightly your hair, and you began to tense up, not knowing what he was going to do. "And besides, I enjoy what I'm doing, and I don't plan on stopping now."

You pushed away his arm and quickly got ready to pull the trigger. "Afraid? It's too soon to be afraid. The game only started." He smirked as he lightly wiped off the tears off your cheek. He slowly leaned into your ear as you held your breath; your gun touching his chest.

"Shoot me. I dare you."

The night sky shone bright as the wailing of cars and the lights of the buildings around filled the atmosphere with excitement.  You took a big sigh as you looked at the bright building in front of you, checking to see if it matched the one on the paper that you had gotten from your boss.

As you entered the building, each and every step seemed to feel like a whole year, floating past you as your heart beat match the beat of your heels touching the hard, tile floor. You stopped in front of the huge, glass doors that led into the nightclub.

Sometimes you regretted the fact that you even thought of accepting the stupid offer, but you knew that it was better than staying in a crammed office all day, looking at past records of cases that were already solved. "We'll here goes nothing." You said under your breath as you opened the door, starting the 'adventure' that would change your life forever.
