“But you fired me.”

“Fired as a nurse. Hired as my friend. Your job is to be my friend, just at the moment. Just be my friend for a moment.”

“It looks like you want us to be more than a friend. Stop kissing me, will you?”

“Good one, darling. More than a friend. Shall we discuss the whole matter during breakfast? I’m tired.” He grinned & closed his eyes before pulling her closer to keep her warm.
