1000 Steps to Your Heart | On Hiatus
Description
1000 paper cranes. ♡♡♡
An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. Some stories believe you are granted eternal good luck, instead of just one wish, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. Crane in Japan is one of the mystical or holy creatures (others include the dragon and the tortoise) and is said to live for a thousand years: That is why 1000 cranes are made, one for each year.
In some stories, some believe that the 1000 cranes must be completed within one year and they must all be made by the person who is to make the wish at the end. Cranes that are made by that person and given away to another aren't included.
All cranes must be kept by the person who made a wish, until the end.

Résumé : Jin Ae tells the story of the people who surround her. The ones who don't have the chance to voice our their own stories. Their past. Their hopes. Their dreams. She starts off with her closest friend Eun Ah, a girl she loathes and loves from the bottom of her heart. Then with her friend's crush. Then his friends. Then everyone who has a small part in all of their lives. And at the same time, Jin Ae struggles with her own thoughts about life, love, boys, family... Normal for a young woman who feels like time keeps going forward while she's the only one racing backwards.
Eun Ah was 18 when she confessed to her first crush.
18 when she finally had the guts to give him her 1000 cranes.
The 1000 cranes that were the result of all the pent up love and adoration she had for him.
But somehow, she thought the many glass jars had reached him his heart.
So why did he only reply months later?
And only to give all of her jars back?
Filled.

a/n: I wrote this story for the sole purpose of showing all the aspects of life. How one-sided love(s) aren't always one-sided (like we think they are). How one chance can slip away just as easily as sand through our fingers. How we only see the live of others because we are completely unaware of our own. How we should stay true to ourselves because it often makes relationships last longer. And especially, how you should go for what you want.
Don't be scared. Because the moment you hesitate, your chance is gone. Just like how lightning strikes.
This story is based and inspired upon events that I've been through in the past. The feeling the story gives off is pretty similar to my own personal experiences, which is also why I'm becoming more and more attached to this story. It doesn't mean all events are real, about 3/4 of it are fictional, but there are a lot of things which I relate to and I'm sure you guys can or will too.
