Byun Baekhyun was never the cute or handsome kid to begin with.

His best point is only his fingers.

Always by himself, or hanging around Kyungsoo.

Wearing his too large, thick glasses.

He think he's cool looking  like that, so it never really bothered him.

Really.

Okay, maybe just a little bit.

The glances that the people gave around him irks him sometimes. But he chose to ignore it. Until a certain Kim Jongin appeared.

The boy is 2 years younger, yet, the moment he stepped into his school, he became the topic of the school. Lean body, sun-tanned-kissed skin, perfected by his looks, he can get anyone to fall for him, boy or girls. Yes, he was very young, but somehow he was able to catch anyone's attention that dare lay an eye on him.

It didn't help the fact that he is a dancer. A goddamn-y dancer that can roll that hips-

Baekhyun never wanted to be like that. Being the one in center of attention. He's content with having his one and only best friend, Kyungsoo. As long as he have Kyungsoo, everything will be fine, he assures himself.

One day as he walked into class, he wasn't expecting Jongin to be there, sitting in his seat. No one was around at that time since Baekhyun accidentally woke up earlier that day (he blamed his alarm clock that decided to ring 2 hours earlier than he was supposed to, of course). His presence was made noticable with a slight tap on Jongin's shoulder, the said boy wearing his earphones, music so loud that Baekhyun can hear from far away.

"That's my seat, if you please, can you-"

"Baekhyun, right?" the said boy muttered. The wide eyes that Baekhyun gave Jongin is enough to make him laugh as he wasn't expecting the popular kid to even know his name. Standing up, Jongin came closer towards Baekhyun, making the latter feel a rush of blood towards his face. Before he realised, his back was already pressed flat onto the wall, successfully restricting himself from escaping. Idiot.

As Jongin inches closer to his face, he couldn't help but to let a squeak past his lips. Chuckling, Jongin presses himself closer to the older.

"Baekhyun hyung.. Can you tell me something about Kyungsoo hyung?"

After that, everything went well for all of them. Jongin and Kyungsoo got together after a few failed attemps of being a romantic human (as Baekhyun claimed it to be),  being the good friend to the obviously heads-over-heels kid for his best friend, he was happy.

Really.

He ignored the feelings that comes everytime their hand brushes together.

He ignored the urge to hug the younger whenever he cries after a big fight with Kyungsoo.

He ignored those warm feelings that rose in his stomach every time the younger smiled at him.

He ignored the painfull feeling in his chest as he sees the two kissed. That is, after Jongin asked him to be the catalyst between them for the event to happen.

He is happy.

But of course he wants more.

"It has to be today. You can do it, Baek." Baekhyun told himself. It has been 2 years since the first time they met, and he couldn't take it anymore. He have to take it off his chest, it's killing him, and he was sure that he'll feel better afterwards, and only then he'll be able to move on with his life.

After checking his looks in the mirror of his room and decided that he is deemed presentable, he left his house with a determined expression.

I can do this.

I can do this.

I can do this.

I CAN DO THIS.

The moment he spots Jongin at his locker besides Kyungsoo's, his heart drops.

it, I can't do this.

"Baek hyung, you're okay? You look kinda... different today."

It's because of you, you perfect lil -

Of course, he just smiled like he always do.

Afterwards, all he see sis two figures walking away from him, chatting happily after making a promise to meet on the rooftop with Jongin.

And he can sense Kyungsoo's look of sadness that was directed at him. And he still put on that same smile.

It's today.

"Jongin, i like you." The said boy stands unmoving, just his jaw opening and closing a few times.

"I.. had a feeling you did." is all that the younger can muster up as a reply. After a few moments of silence, he spoke again in a softer tone.

"I like Kyung."

"I know."

"I still do."

"I still know."

"Then why-"

"Do i have a chance?" The question got Jongin off guard, not knowing how to answer.
Silence ensues. To the point it became unbearable for both of them.

"Someday." Is all the reply that Baekhyun gets. He places that smile again, a sincere smile that Jongin knows. Both of them smiled.

That night at midnight, Jongin is woken up  by the ringing on his phone, Kyungsoo crying on the other side.
"Baekhyun left." is all that he could register in his brain. 

And they couldn't find any way to contact him, not even Kyungsoo.

Three years later, Jongin and Kyungsoo is nothing more than friends. Sometimes they hang out at each other's house, or maybe one or two vacations together, but with feelings that's no more than friends, of possibly as brothers.  Jongin is doing what he loves the most : dancing and teaching at a studio that his father bought to achieve his dreams, Kyungsoo opening a singing academy just next to his studio.

At the buzz of his phone, Jongin looks uo to see a text from Kyungsoo.

Hey, i know you're taking new students today, but can you be the sweetheart you are and go get something for me?
It's kinda important, and i can't avoid my meeting with these guys from SM. Please please please please?? :))))

To [Kyunggie]

What time? Class starts at 12 today. but i'm not doing it for free.

To [Kkamjong]

At 5, at the usual coffee shop. Just go there, someone'll give it to you. Thanks kid XDD
p.s.: no payment, you still owe me that coffee that you spilled over me the other day.

He texted back on how he's going to recognise that someone, but he never got a reply.

It was exactly 5 on his watch, Jongin rushed to the coffee shop that Kyungsoo and him frequently went to since one of his students asked him to help with his moves, determined to audition into SM. They lost track of time, but Jongin managed to close down the place and lock the door to the studio before running to  the said location in record time. Upon arriving, he saw that no one was there, except for the few workers behind the counter. He decided to take a seat close to the window and wait for a bit since he assumed that the person he was supposed to meet hasn't arrived yet.

After a few moments of waiting, two cups of tea and a piece of chocolate cake was placed in front of him. Turning around he looked at the guy in the uniform. 

"I'm sorry, i haven't ordered yet-" His words were stuck in his throat as the guy takes a seat across him, flashing that familiar smile. 

"Jongin, can that someday be today?" The guys mutters in that very familiar voice. The voice that he missed for years. He looks different without his thick glasses, but Jongin couldn't help but to regret what he had missed before.
 

"Someday, hyung." 

Baekhyun's smile grew wider.

"I'll still wait then."

And Jongin never felt happier.
