Sleeping with the Enemy (Repost)Chapter 7
Jaejoong had been waiting outside for almost five hours. He glanced at his seiko chronograph stainless steel bracelet watch, ‘Its almost midnight. Where is she?’ He thought, with a deep sigh. Did she run away from him? He groaned. He the cd player in his car & listen to the soft music. His eyes were still searching the familiar figure coming from the front gate.
He had been thinking since he stopped his car in her driveway. They couldn’t discuss & solve the problem if anger & hatred were involved. They had to sit down, cool their brains & emotions & start to talk with their heads, not with their hearts. At least, it wouldn’t be so awful, considering she & him had the same subject to discuss but she simply didn’t like him, he could tell from her eyes. All that ego.
Jaejoong remembered her trembling in his arms this morning when he kissed her. What did it mean? He sighed & rubbed his temples. However, he intended to give her a stamp of dominance during their kiss, telling her who was in charge but why didn’t it work? Why did he turn to kiss her gently at the end? Why did his feelings betray him?
He let out a deep sigh & the volume.
Amazing the effect Tiffany Hwang had on him. She was the first woman who had once trapped his heart rather than sent a tingling sensation to his body. Oh god, but it just infuriated him that she just stood there & seemed to tolerate his kissing. She would have heard that awful words he roared in her ears. That’s why she was crying, right?
Jaejoong groaned.
Tiffany leaned forward over the steering wheel & peered into the darkness. It was a bad day again. Her car seemed to have challenge her patience whenever she needed it to get home. Everything had seemed alright until she had left the highway. It was broken again. The engine stopped functioning. She took in a deep breath, “What a bad day.” She murmured. First, in the morning, she got caught when she visited Mr. Kim. Second, his arrogant son insulted her again, with his words; even he dared to kiss her again! Third, she got scold from one of her customers as she complained that her flowers weren’t fresh anymore. Taking her car from the mechanic this evening, she couldn’t believe it broke down again, “Damn everything!” She let out her frustration. She kicked her car.
She took the car key, locked all the doors & left it on the roadside. She walked to her house with all her muscles aching.
Tiffany was just about to opened her door when she heard footsteps behind her. Her head was pounding & rasped, ‘Who is it? Is it a ghost or a robber?’ She asked herself in panic, without having any courage to turn her head, ‘Stay calm.’ She told herself, ‘Don’t lose your cool & get ready for the kicks.’
Tiffany spun around, ready to kick the stranger but she gasped. Jaejoong was standing there watching her, just as he had the first time she had seen him in his father’s office, except this time his expression was calm.
Damn! Him again. She made a face.
“Good evening, Miyoung or I should call you Tiffany?” Jaejoong said gently, trying to be nice for the first time, “I believe you have your brain with you! You can choose whatever you like!” She snapped, at him.
He frowned, ‘She’s starting a fight again.’ He told himself. He was trying to be nice, talking to her as a civilian human being but she was treating him coldly & rudely.
“What’s your problem, Tiffany? Can’t you talk as a mature woman instead of a silly girl?”
“Well.” She said, forcing on a smile, “What a surprises, Mr. Kim. Do I have to invite you in?” She stop in front of Jaejoong, her beautiful eyes locked on his.
He cleared his throat & then gave her a light grin that had charmed many exquisite women in Seoul, “We did promise to talk tonight.”
“But not in the middle of the night!” She spat at him.
Jaejoong swallowed hard. Tiffany just made his anger rose again. He could see that she was trying to control her temper. She drew in her breath deeply several times. He let out a big sigh. From leaving his house, he had promised himself not to get involve in a fight with her again. He was tired of all those mess. He just wanted to sit down, talk to her calmly & get the best solution for him, his family & her.
He stuck out his hand, “Keys please.”
“What?”
“You heard me. I want your front door key.”
“Why?”
“Because we have something important to talk about.”
Their eyes met & Tiffany stiffened with anger at what she saw in his eyes, the firm determination & masculine arrogance! Gritting her teeth, she opened her handbag & pulled out the keys.
He took the keys from her hand & opened the door, “I’ll do the honor to open the door.” He grinned slightly, “Smart girl.”
“You’re wrong. Smart woman. There’s a big difference. I’m not a stupid girl! I’m a woman.”
Jaejoong stared at her, laughing secretly. He didn’t argue & tried to find the light switch.
Tiffany’s spine stiffened, ‘This man is completely insane.’ She thought. Who gave him the rights to trespass her property? The desire to slap the arrogant grin from his handsome face was almost over-powering! She walked to her living room & threw her body onto the sofa, “Tell me what you want & leave this house immediately. Dammit!”
Jaejoong gritted his teeth. The way Tiffany looked at him in disgusts hurtled his pride. He was trying to be nice & what he did get, “Can’t you talk more politely? I’m not a jerk that you can…”
“Leave.”
Jaejoong felt an unaccustomed flush of color rise to his face. He jerked away, “You.” He said sharply, pointing at her with his index finger, “Are making a big mistake by asking me to leave before our problem are solved.” “What do you want?!” Her voice rose, showing her temper openly. She folded her arms & lifted her chin up in an arrogant way!
“Your place looks okay. Did my f
