Sleeping with the Enemy (Repost)Chapter 8
Tiffany smiled & flushed. The gorgeous, good-looking, Park Yoochun had become her loyal customer. They also became good friends in such a short time. They met a week ago but she felt like she knew him well already. Everyday, he would buy one bouquet of pink roses from her shop & they would end up enjoying a cup of coffee in the cafe in front of her flower shop. He was a nice guy, has a sense of humor & easy to talk to. Comparing to the arrogant Kim Jaejoong, Yoochun was nicer! She wondered where Jaejoong was now. Since that night when they started their conciliation, he had disappeared from her life completely & it had been eight days already, ‘That is good!’ Her heart screamed out happily. Without Kim Jaejoong, her life was better & nicer; especially god had sent a nice gentleman like Park Yoochun to her. Goodbye misery. Goodbye Kim Jaejoong. She smiled in relief.
“Why are you smiling?” Yoochun stared at her, sipping his coffee slowly.
She blushed again, “Nothing. I just remember my enemy. Thank god he disappeared from the world completely.” Yoochun laughed, “I don’t believe this beautiful woman in front of me has an enemy. You’re an easygoing person. How can you have an enemy?”
“It’s a long story, Yoochun Oppa.”
“I have a lifetime to hear your story.” He said in a serious tone.
However, Tiffany didn’t realize his serious attention.
As they ate, Tiffany began to tell about her life, duties, flower shop, career & dream. She rattled off a list of so long, Yoochun began to get nervous but when she described her love life, he felt light-hearted, ‘She had never had a boyfriend!’ His mind screamed in disbelief. His heartbeat stopped for a second. This time he couldn’t blame the feeling on being unreasonably attracted to Tiffany. This time, his feeling was overwhelmed.
“Where do you live, Oppa?”
“Oh, I live in an apartment at the city.”
Stifling a sigh of relief, Tiffany said, “Good idea if you work at the city. You know, Oppa, running a flower shop is my first business. I was a kindergarten teacher & I didn’t have any experience in this.”
“But you’ve done such a great job.”
“Don’t be impressed. I will take me at least a year to make this shop profitable.”
“I believe you.”
“Thank you.” Tiffany smiled in gratitude.
Yoochun glanced around the busy cafe, desperately wishing they would be left alone because he had something to tell her. However, around lunch hour, many people would be having lunch at the cafe.
“Tiffany.”
Tiffany turned to face him & Yoochun found himself caught in the gaze of her beautiful eyes. He understood the feeling perfectly, “You’re beautiful.”
Tiffany’s smile faded away as she turned red. She stared at him. Yoochun didn’t even have to say what he was thinking. Tiffany could read the recognition in his expression by the way he looked at her. Her heart started to beat erratically.
“Tiffany, it has been a week since I’ve known you. I like you. You’re a wonderful person, nice to talk to & your beauty is sacred in this world.”
“Oppa.” She her suddenly dry pale pink lips, “I…”
“I want to be your friend, a special friend in your heart.” He whispered, & drew in a quick breath. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her.
She sighed deeply, “But you have a girlfriend already. You buy a bouquet of pink roses everyday for her remember?” She tried to smile as if nothing happened between them.
Clearly, he liked her & wanted a relationship. However, did she want it, too?
“I lied.” He answered shortly.
She frowned. Her eyes narrowed in confusion, “What do you mean?”
“I don’t have a girlfriend right now. I buy flowers to know you.”
She swung her eyes to the view outside the open window. She shook her head, “I.” She paused & grimaced, “I don’t want to get involved in love.”
“Why? Did somebody let you down?”
She shook her head, still smiling bitterly, “My mother was sad & disappointed in her whole life because of love. I don’t want my mother’s tragedy repeating on me. I want to enjoy my life without being hurt by any man.” Tiffany smile but Yoochun could see that the smile didn’t reach her eyes. He took her hand gently into his hands, “I promise, Tiffany. I’ll never let you down. You can trust me.”
Tiffany watched him in despair, ‘Why is it so difficult to erase Jaejoong Oppa’s image from my mind? Why do I always compare him to a nice guy like Yoochun Oppa? Jaejoong Oppa is nothing compared to Yoochun Oppa.’ Her mind remained her again. She closed her eyes to wipe him out of her mind & drew in a long breath, “Tiffany?”
He looked at Tiffany intensely & she steadfastly held her gaze.
“Huh? Oh, I’m sorry.” Tiffany apologized quickly, & then hoped he hadn’t caught her staring blankly at him, “I just thought that it wouldn’t work out between us.”
He glanced at her cautiously. Now, the blood seemed to have frozen in his limbs. He cleared his throat nervously, “I know it’s too fast. I don’t want to force you now but I want you to think of this carefully. I’ll be waiting for you patiently.”
“But I…”
“Think about it.” He ran his hand along the back of his neck, “Please.” He pleaded.
“Okay.” She smiled prettily, happy again. She sighed deeply in secret as Yoochun didn’t push her to answer him. Deep inside her heart, she winced because she knew that was a lie. She didn’t want to be attracted to anybody, especially to him. She had to concentrate to fulfill her mother’s last wish & her own dream to be a nun, ‘Forget about Oppa & forget about Jaejoong Oppa in specific.’ She swore, under her breath.
How could a man be dumb enough to compound one problem with another?
Jaejoong groaned in despair. He still hadn’t come up with an answer, even though he had spent more than one week to think about it. First, he didn’t do anything to the woman who ruined his parent’s happy marriage life except having a verbal fight with her. He promised his mother & sister to finish her off for good, right? Second, he couldn’t concentrate in his legal cases as his heart was caught in between betraying his family & feeling sympathy for her but the worst thing was that he did have feelings for her. He groaned again, ‘Is that a mistake? No, its not a mistake.’ He thought, frowning at his image in the mirror over the bathroom sink.
He took a shaver, starting to clean his face. He the water, rinsed the blade & angled it against his other cheek. Tiffany, Tiffany & Tiffany. Her name was stuck in his head for the past eight days since he met her at her house that night. In the next morning, when he woke up, he promised himself to let her go & keep a distances from her. He decided to forget about her & continued his life as if she had never existed but look at the effect. He was losing his cool in court. He got his bad temper topped up & now, he lost his third case in one week. He sighed deeply. What was he doing, wasting time thinking of her? Seohyun said he had overreacted since yesterday. So what? He pouted, looking at his image in the mirror again, “That woman is nothing but trouble. Big trouble in my heart & mind.” He cursed her.
The clock ticked at nine o’clock. He jol
