--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The days ticked by and before they knew it, exactly one week had passed. As a young boy determined to get what he wanted, Sungjong had left Young Jae alone the entirety of the time. It was a bit difficult, considering he had yet to receive any word from Young Jae on what his answer may be, but patience was the key to everything. At least, that’s what he kept telling himself.

It was now time to see if that patience has paid off.

There was almost complete silence in the room. The only thing breaking that silence was the sound of breathing that came from the figure currently sleeping underneath the blanket. It was an early morning, so the room was fairly lit by the sun’s rays. Thanks to the window curtains, the room was lit up by a pale blue light that imitated the look of water.

Over by the door, the doorknob slowly turned before coming to a complete stop. Carefully, the door was pushed open, stopping for a second or so whenever a creak was heard. With the door open just enough now, two boys peeked their heads in as they looked around. Whenever they spoke, they made sure to talk in hushed tones so as to not disturb the boy that was, hopefully, still sleeping. “Does it look different in here?” (S)

“Does it matter? We just have to get Young Jae, just like last time.” (BY) Even after saying that, Yongguk couldn’t help but notice the differences in the room. It seemed a bit messier than before with all the random articles of clothing scattered on the ground. The bed sheets were also a pale blue rather than a pale yellow, so it did make Yongguk wonder if they were currently at the right room. Still, he pushed those questions to the back of his head. This had to be the right room. This was the same room that they had gone to last week, so there was no doubt that this is Young Jae’s bedroom.

Entering the room through the small opening they had given themselves, the two boys made their way over to the bed. They looked at one another and gave each other a nod before crawling onto the bed as carefully as possible. However, there was just two things that these poor boys had not expected.

One, their target was a rather light sleeper and even the slightest shift on the bed that hadn’t been his own caused him to awaken. The second miscalculation? Well.. let’s just say that the target that they were after wasn’t exactly in the same room as them.

The second Yongguk and Sungyeol’s hands took hold of the covered body, the body soon sprung to life as both arms and legs alike quickly locked both boys into a headlock of sorts. Woohyun sleepily looked down at the intruder in his arms before looking down at the one locked between his legs. With a small yawn, he furrowed his eyebrows before looking back at Yongguk. “What are you doing in my room?” (WH)

Yongguk looked away, not even bothering to give Woohyun any sort of answer. Even as Woohyun tightened his hold, Yongguk remained silent. Realizing that he wasn’t going to get anything out of Yongguk, Woohyun looked down at the fear stricken Sungyeol. At least through Sungyeol, Woohyun may end up getting somewhere. “Are you gonna talk, or am I going to have to make you?” (WH)

Sungyeol’s eyes remained wide as he stared at Woohyun. His eyes slowly trailed down at Yongguk, but all he could see was the top of Yongguk’s head. Looking back up at Woohyun, he had barely had time to shake his head when Woohyun tightened his hold on Sungyeol. That was all that he needed to do before Sungyeol spilled out everything. “Ungh..! O-Okay! S-Stop! W-We cam here to take Young Jae! We didn’t know that this was your room!” (S)

“You were trying to take Young Jae...?” (WH) Upon having this small bit of information, Woohyun had loosened his grip a little while trying to sort things out. In that instance, Yongguk and Sungyeol took advantage of the situation and quickly escaped from Woohyun’s grasp. Within the next second, the two had bolted out of the room.

Woohyun stared for a moment before letting out another yawn. Well, at least he knew the reason behind him switching rooms with Young Jae. Sadly, Woohyun had shrugged the matter off as he laid back down. Even though there was a feeling gnawing away at him, he decided to ignore it as sleep attempted to take over once more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“What do you MEAN he wasn’t there?! That’s HIS room! Where ELSE would he be?!” (SJ) Sungjong turned as he now stared angrily at Yongguk and Sungyeol. Even as they remained silent, Sungjong continued to think of the possibilities. “Wait.. Woohyun was there... then... That Daehyun! WHY does he have to ruin everything?! WHY?!” (SJ)

Sungjong swung a kick into the air before turning back around. EVERY single time a plan comes to him, Daehyun ALWAYS messes it up! Was he one of those mind readers in the comic books or something?! If that was a possibility, then that wasn’t fair at all! “Find out where Daehyun’s room is! Young Jae HAS to be there!” (SJ)

Yongguk and Sungyeol both nodded before getting to their feet. As Yongguk turned and began walking towards the door, Sungyeol had waited a few more seconds before quickly catching up with Yongguk.

Once they were out of the room, Sungjong sighed as he turned and looked over at Yuri. The second they made eye contact, Yuri smiled and motioned for Sungjong to come over. Oddly enough, Sungjong couldn’t help but smile as he made his way over to Yuri before sitting in front of her. “You made me calm down a lot.” (SJ)

“That’s very good! Then I wanna make you calm down all the time.” (Y) Yuri smiled again as she reached over and picked up two dolls. Looking from one to the other, she thought for a moment before glancing up at Sungjong. When she finally made up her mind, Yuri held the two dolls up so that Sungjong had a better view. “Do you wanna play with me? I saved these dolls just for us!” (Y)

Sungjong looked down at the two dolls with slight surprise. He hadn’t expected Yuri to want to play at this moment, but it was quite tempting. After all, it had been quite some time since he actually played with any of his friends. “Okay.. I’ll play a little bit.” (SJ)

Reaching forward, Sungjong hesitated for a brief moment before taking hold of the toy he considered his favorite. Yuri smiled happily as she moved closer to Sungjong. Finally, after such a long time of waiting, she finally received her chance to play with her best friend! She just wished that it could be like this forever..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One out of the two boys stirred to life as sleep finally began to slip away. The little boy let out a small groan before stretching, his eyes slowly opening as his gaze focused in on the wall in front of him. Blinking about two or three times, eh closed his eyes tightly as he stretched once more. With a small whimper, Daehyun finally relaxed before pushing himself up to a sitting position.

Looking around through slightly sleep-filled eyes, Daehyun moved the blanket off of himself before crawling to the edge of his bed. Wrapping his fingers along the edge, Daehyun laid down as he lowered his head and peeked underneath. Blinking a few times, he instantly smiled as Young Jae turned to face him in his sleep, though.. Daehyun couldn’t really tell since all he saw was Young Jae’s blurred outline. “Psst...! Young Jae?” (DH)

For a brief moment, Daehyun waited for a response. When no such thing occurred, Daehyun pulled himself up before climbing down the ladder. Safely on the ground, Daehyun crawled onto Young Jae’s bed before coming to a stop a small distance away. With a look of curiosity, Daehyun reached forward before poking Young Jae’s cheek. “Young Jae ~... Are you awake now?” (DH)

Still no response. Well, that was alright. Young Jae must be super duper tired, so he needed lots of sleep! So, for now, he’ll just let Young Jae continue to sleep. Daehyun would just comfortably sit here and wait patiently for Young Jae to wake up on his own.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Should he do it? He’s done it time and time again, but.. he’s always been shy or nervous about it every time. Why wouldn’t he be? If he was caught, then... anything could happen! She might think that he’s weird and she wouldn’t want to see him ever again!

No! That’s not what he wanted. He wanted to marry Taeyeon when they were older. It was what he wanted. Why else did he join Sungjong? He wanted to impress Taeyeon and the only thing that he could think about was to try and show off just how strong and manly he could be. It seemed like a good plan... at the time.

However, it didn’t seem to be working. It didn’t seem like Taeyeon had even looked his way, let alone knew that he even existed. This wasn’t going how he had imagined it, though, to be fair.. Sunyeol had hoped to get Taeyeon by riding in on a white horse and carrying Taeyeon off into the sunset. But.. still! Sungyeol wanted to be with Taeyeon already.

Gathering up all of his courage, Sungyeol leaned in close as he could barely hear the voice of the angel that had completely captivated his heart. His heart fluttered as a smile came onto his face. Slowly turning the doorknob, Sungyeol’s face reddened as he paused the second the doorknob wouldn’t turn anymore. Opening the door little by little, he came to a stop the second he saw that beautiful girl in the middle of the room.

Sungyeol couldn’t help but both stare and listen in awe. He loved listening to her pretty voice and seeing how focused and determined Taeyeon looked every time that she practiced. If he couldn’t be with Taeyeon, then.. just being able to be this close to listen to her was good enough for him.

What he didn’t notice, however, was that he was about to get a little closer.

As he leaned closer and closer, the door opened little by little as it mirrored his movements. It wasn’t long until the door had opened a little too much before Sungyeol soon lost his balance. With the doorknob out of his grasp, Sungyeol fell forward as he landed with a rather loud thump. Letting out a small groan, Sungyeol pushed himself up to a sitting position before a voice caused him to freeze in place.

“Are you okay?” (TY) Sungyeol’s eyes hesitated before slowly looking over at the pair of feet a small distance in front of him. Although all the kids had to wear slippers, they were given the chance to pick the designs they wanted. The pea pods on the light green pair of slippers definitely confirmed whom was currently standing nearby. “Hey..! Did you hear me? I asked if you were okay.” (TY)

Turning his head away, Sungyeol bit his bottom lip in an attempt to hide his growing excitement. He was so close to Taeyeon! This was a dream, right? Of course not! This was reality and- wait. Reality? Then, that means that.. he had just made a fool of himself! He was supposed to be super cool and manly in front of Taeyeon, not a clumsy looking dork!

Getting to his feet, Sungyeol quickly turned before running as fast as his feet could go. Taeyeon reached out, but stopped once Sungyeol was out of sight. She furrowed her eyebrows and frowned as she folded her arms. “Why are boys so weird? They should just come in if they wanna listen..” (TY)

Where was he even going? Sungyeol wasn’t entirely certain on his destination. All he really wanted to do was get away and hope Taeyeon forgot about how embarrassing he was. Sure, he was happy that Taeyeon even spoke to him, but his embarrassment outweighed all other emotions at the moment.

Finally, after running down a few hallways, Sungyeol slowed to a stop. Pressing his back to a wall, Sungyeol panted a bit before sliding down to sit on the ground. Looking towards the direction he came from, he was rather glad and a little disappointed that Taeyeon hadn’t followed after him. That was okay though. Since he was the male, he had to do all of the following!

“Sungyeol!” (BY) Sungyeol jumped in his seat as he quickly looked up at Yongguk. Yongguk had leaned forward, his hands on his knees as he had a single brow raised. It took him a while, but he was glad to have finally found Sungyeol. “Were you spying on Taeyeon again?” (BY)

Sungyeol hastily shook his head, which made it obvious that he was. Yongguk didn’t necessarily understand why Sungyeol felt the need to spy on a girl. If it was a boy, at least they wouldn’t have to worry about getting cooties. Even if he couldn’t necessarily wrap his mind around it, it wasn’t his choice. “Let’s just go already. Sungjong is going to Daehyun’s room now.” (BY)

“O-Okay!” (S) Once he was on his feet, Sungyeol began walking alongside Yongguk. “Do you think Young Jae really is in Daehyun’s room?” (S)

Yongguk pondered on the question for a moment, trying to figure out exactly how they had been able to find out. “I think he is. I asked Myungsoo and he said that Young Jae and Woohyun switched rooms and now Young Jae is sharing his room with Daehyun.” (BY)

“But I thought Myungsoo was a liar. Yuri told me that Myungsoo said that Zelo eats bugs.” (S) Yongguk shook his head before turning a corner.

“That wasn’t Myungsoo. Jongup said it because he saw Zelo eating a gummy worm and he wouldn’t share.” (BY)

“Ooh..” (S) The rest of the walk, the two boys remained silent. While Sungyeol was calm, Yongguk was a bit nervous, or possibly even worried. He had a bit of a bad feeling about what was going to happen, so he was just going to have to be careful and hope for the best possible outcome.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daehyun quietly hummed to himself as he rocked back and forth. It was really boring just waiting for Young Jae to wake up, but he continued to wait patiently. He instantly paused, a large grin on his face the second Young Jae stirred a bit. However, when Young Jae continued to sleep peacefully, Daehyun let out a slight grown as he laid down on his side.

He adjusted his glassed a moment as he looked at Young Jae. Daehyun blinked a few times as he examined Young Jae’s facial features. Despite being only a year younger, Young Jae looked like he was almost the same age as Jongup. His looks, however, were what accentuated Young Jae’s personality. It made Young Jae really cute, like... a puppy! Something like this was part of the reason why he felt so protective over Young Jae.

But if that was only part of the reason, then what was the real reason?

Examining Young Jae’s features a bit closer, Daehyun reached up as he softly touched Young Jae’s cheek. It was warm, soft, and... he felt like he could touch it all the time. Moving the tips of his fingers a little to the left, his touch soon came to a stop at Young Jae’s lips. Although Young Jae’s lips did have a different feel to them, they were still something he surprisingly liked to touch.

Wait. Why was he doing this?

Daehyun quickly pulled his hand away as he bit his bottom lip. This wasn’t normal, right? A boy shouldn’t like touching another boy’s skin! His parents hadn’t mentioned anything about this, nor had Daehyun seen anything like this. But... it still felt like it was a good thing, something that was alright for anyone to do.

It was still confusing though. Would it be alright for two boys to like each other just like his parents liked each other? Daehyun didn’t know nor understand, but.. the second his eyes landed back onto Young Jae’s lips, his thoughts went back to the kiss that they had first shared.

Maybe if he kissed Young Jae again, then he would be certain about his feelings for Young Jae. Maybe then... he would know for sure if he really liked Young Jae the way his parents liked each other. Would it be alright though? They had promised one another that they would kiss each other when they were older. Well, they promised to get married when they’re older, but it’s the same thing, right? Still... would Young Jae get upset if he kissed him again?

If Young Jae is still asleep when they kiss, would it be alright? Technically, since Young Jae didn’t know about it, then Young Jae wouldn’t get upset! That means that he could kiss Young Jae to figure things out! Well.. that’s what he assumed anyway.

Once he had assured himself that it would be alright, Daehyun moved in a little closer. His heart was beating faster than normal and he could feel his face heat up immensely, but this had to be done. Even if it didn’t give him the answers that he was look for, it was at least worth a shot. Every hero tried their very best to get their answers!

Taking in a deep breath, Daehyun began inching forward little by little, slowly closing the distance between them. It was a little difficult with his glasses on, but he somehow managed. Determination was key and if he gave up now, then he wouldn’t really call himself a hero. Though, that single thought made him come to a halt.

Would a hero even do something like this?

Before he could receive any sort of answer, their bedroom door swung wide open as it quickly collided with the wall. Both Daehyun and Young Jae jumped as they pushed themselves up to a sitting position. Quickly getting to his feet, Daehyun stood in front of the bed in a protective manner as Sungjong and the others filed in. Once everything had settled down, Sungjong tilted his head a bit before smirking. “Hello Daehyun. You have something I want. I’m here to take it.” (SJ)

“Go away!” (DH) His eyes looked from oneperson to the other. Had it been only one of them, Daehyun could have handled the situation easily. Heck, he probably would have been able to take on two at most. However, with all five of them here, Daehyun knew that he didn’t stand a chance. As Sungjong stepped forward, Daehyun took a step back. They had repeated this process until Daehyun felt the back of his legs bump into the bed. With nowhere else to move, Daehyun knew that there wasn’t many other options at this point.

“Yongguk. Sungyeol. Handle Daehyun.” (SJ) Daehyun furrowed his eyebrows and balled his hands into fists as Yongguk and Sungyeol moved forward. Sungyeol was the first to swing, but Daehyun had been able to side step his attack. Daehyun was just about to kick Sungyeol, but Yongguk had come up from behind and wrapped his arms around Daehyun tightly.

Daehyun was starting to panic from the restraint, but he forced himself to remain calm as he lifted both his legs and kicked a charging Sungyeol. As he struggled in Yongguk’s grasp, Daehyun quickly looked over at a fear-stricken Young Jae. “Young Jae! Run!” (DH)

Moving his head forward, Daehyun swung his head back as hard as he could despite the fact that his glasses had gone flying. Even with the pain that now throbbed at the crown of his head, he was still able to get Yongguk’s grasp off of him. Turning, Daehyun grabbed hold of Sungyeol’s arm before swinging him into Yongguk as hard as he could. He quickly turned to Young Jae once more, realizing that Young Jae hadn’t budged at all. “YOUNG JAE!” (DH)

Young Jae looked up at Daehyun, briefly making eye contact with him before Daehyun began fighting Sungjong this time. Even if he could move his fear-stricken legs, Young Jae couldn’t leave Daehyun all alone. Daehyun was fighting so hard to protect him and if he abandoned Daehyun, then who knew what would happen..

His eyes soon widened as he saw all three boys finally take down Daehyun. Even on the ground, Daehyun continued to struggle. As the three boys made certain that Daehyun couldn’t get away, Young Jae slowly crawled out of his bed. Even if he was scared, he had to help Daehyun. There had to be something that he could do.

Shakily, his feet soon touched the ground as he stood up. Closing his eyes tightly, Young jae blindly ran forward in an attempt to at least get one boy off of Daehyun. However, a leg soon came into his path, causing him to crash harshly onto the wooden floor.

As he fought back the tears that threatened to escape, two pairs of hands grabbed onto him and forced him onto his feet. Young Jae struggled in Yuri and Zelo’s grasp as they began pulling him out of the room. He tried to turn, tears streaming down his face as he stared at a helpless Daehyun. “D-Daehyun!” (YJ)

Young Jae had only managed to call out once before a bite caused him to yelp in pain. Looking to his right, he could see a rather annoyed looking Zelo continually pulling him along. “Stop moving so much or I’ll bite very very hard! I can make you cry a lot!” (Z)

With one last glance at Daehyun, the three of them were gone.

“Young Jae!” (DH) No matter how much he struggled, he just couldn’t escape from Yongguk and Sungyeol’s hold. His struggling lessened as a pair of feet stood in front of him. Lifting his head a bit, Daehyun stared angrily up at Sungjong, whom was now crouching with a smug look on his face. “Give him back!” (DH)

Sungjong chuckled with delight as he looked down at Daehyun. It was so satisfying seeing Daehyun in such a helpless state. If he hadn’t wanted to go see Young Jae already, he probably would have had his fun with Daehyun. “Daehyun. Young Jae is mine noe. I’m never, EVER, gonna give him back.” (SJ)

Looking up, Sungjong smiled a bit as he tilted his head. “Lock him in the closet. Make it really, really dark!” (SJ)

He looked back down at Daehyun as he narrowed his eyelids a bit. His smile held, but it only seemed to show just how much Sungjong was enjoying this. “I think Daehyun really likes the dark. Right.. Daehyun?” (SJ)

Daehyun’s eyes widened as Sungjong stood up. Panic began to surge through him once more as he was pulled to his feet. He tried to run, tried to escape, but both Yongguk and Sungyeol held his arms as Sungjong opened the closet door. Daehyun shook his head as he tried to keep them from moving closer to the closet, even if it slowed them down just a little bit. “No.. NO! Stop it, PLEASE!” (DH)

Sungjong only smiled with delight as the three of them moved closer and closer to the closet. With one last attempt, Daehyun put his feet on either side of the door frame and pushed with all of his might to keep himself from going inside. “DON’T!” (DH)

Daehyun gasped as he suddenly felt both Yongguk and Sungyeol let go of him. Falling to the ground, he roughly hit his head, causing him to feel disorientated as he laid there. The room around him seemed to move and his body didn’t seem to want to listen to him as he felt two pairs of hands pick him up once more. Once on his feet, he was roughly pushed into the closet before the door closed behind him. He couldn’t move as well as he normally would, but he somehow managed to get himself up to the door as he weakly turned the doorknob and attempted to push it open. He soon held his breath though the second the door wouldn’t budge. Looking up, Daehyun began to bang on the door as he heard something being moved in front of the door. “Please... PLEASE! LET ME OUT!” (DH)

Tears began forming as he continued to weakly bang on the door. His eyes looked everywhere, trying desperately to look for a way out. Once the sound of scraping came to a stop, Daehyun quickly looked down as the light that came from the door crack had soon ceased to exist. He quickly looekd back up at the door, banging on it once again as his wails attempted to penetrate the wooden barrier. PLEASE.. Please please PLEASE LET ME OUT! PLEASE! PLEEASE! Let me out.. LET ME OUT!” (DH)

The only response he received was a chilled laugh before all that was left was Daehyun’s crying. Even in the dork, Daehyun could feel the limited space that had been given to him. He looked around, his hands feeling for something, ANYTHING, to give him comfort. It felt like the walls were closing in on him as his breathing grew heavier. The world around him felt like it was spinning and before he knew it...

Daehyun fell to the ground.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“DAEHYUN! I-I WANT DAEHYUN!” (YJ) Young Jae cried as he squirmed under Yongguk’s weight. He had been giving Yuri and Zelo trouble and once the three other children showed up, Yongguk had decided to sit on Young Jae’s back to keep him from causing anymore trouble. Sadly, it didn’t necessarily calm Young Jae’s constant screaming and crying. It also didn’t help that Young Jae had a lack of air from being sat on.

As victorious as he had felt mere moments ago, he was now just getting annoyed with Young Jae’s constant screaming and crying. He tried being patient, he really did, but one can only be patient for so long before they finally snap. Making his way over to Young Jae, he crouched down before taking a firm hold of Young Jae’s cheeks. Without any other form of warning, Sungjong squeezed Young Jae’s cheeks as hard as he could between his fingers before slapping the top of Young Jae’s head. “Be quiet and stop crying already! If you don’t, I’ll hurt you loads more.” (SJ)

Even when Young Jae tried his best to stop crying, it was proving difficult. After all, he had just received pain and his first instinct was to start crying. Plus, it was proving hard to breath when Yongguk was sitting on his back. After a series of sniffling and whimpering, Sungjong groaned before sitting on the ground. “Why won’t you be quiet?!” (SJ)

“He.. He’s heavy..” (YJ) Was that it? Was that really the reason why Young Jae wouldn’t calm down? If it was, then it was super easy to fix it! This new found piece of information sent a surge of hope through Sungjong. As long as Young Jae was comfortable, then there wouldn’t be any problems!

“Yongguk.. You can get off of him now, but I don’t want him running away! Use the handcuffs I found.” (SJ) With a nod, Yongguk got off of Young Jae as he looked down at the small boy.

“Get up.” (BY) With a small hint of hesitance, Young Jae slowly pushed himself up. Once Young Jae was on his feet, Yongguk took hold of Young Jae’s arm before pulling him along. The second Young Jae whined a bit with how rough Yongguk was pulling him along, Yongguk softened up a bit. Young Jae instantly noticed this, but didn’t say anything as he was forced to sit down before being handcuffed to the couch.

Looking down at the pair of handcuffs, Young Jae tugged at it before frowning. They were a pair of toy handcuffs, so the material was plastic. It also meant that there was a release latch on each of the handcuffs, which meant an easy escape. Did Young Jae know that though? Nope. To him, it looked like a real pair of handcuffs that the police officers usually used. “I-I’m under arrest?!” (YJ)

While Young Jae sat thinking about Daehyun and how he was now under arrest, Sungjong eyed Young Jae greedily from a distance. With how long and hard it took to get Young Jae, he would do whatever it took to get Young Jae to listen to him. In fact, with Young Jae sitting so obediently like that, maybe he could keep Young Jae as a pet! Yea... that seemed like a really great idea.

Young Jae will be his... pet.

Chapter 48: I swear this is like one of the best fanfic I have ever read. The childhood part was really interesting and nicely done, I wish you would detail some scenes but that's okay. And now... I don't know where you are going with this but I feel so excited. I am sad for Jin though because for the first time, he found someone important and yet, he lost it. That's so cruel you know. R. I. P Taehyung ~ ;-; Kyungsoo is a freaking bastard, hope he would end up in prison. Seungjong too! Feels like you are plotting something with him haha! Especially since he didn't get his revenge. Damn.... Daehyun will get to suffer again. X) about DaeJae, I love how slow you are making it. That's frustrating and sweet at the same time. And BangHim gosh, I want them to be together officially. But each time something interrupt them. X) is their couple going to be part of your plot or is it not that important? That's funny because I thought from the childhood that Himchan would have ended up with Sunny ~ By the way, that's been a long time we haven't seen her, is she going to make a cameo haha?
I also found it funny how Zelo and Jongup didn't like each other and how dependant Junhong seems to be towards Jongup when they both grew up haha! I actually laughed a lot when they bickered back then and now Junhong likes his hyung haha! Funny ~ Anyway I'm just going to end this review because I spent the last four nights reading these 48 chapters, I feel like I'm not making any sense anymore haha! Well, fighting for the next chapter, I am kind of excited to read it now! Fighting!!!!
