“As if,” Jongin scoffs, reluctantly pocketing the small device. It is smaller than his two fingers combined that he almost wants to throw it on Sehun’s nose just to see if it’ll make his perfect nose less than perfect.  He decides against it because Sehun is paying for their breakfast and he remembers something. “Wait why am I taking one ing painting only? I’m already in a gallery fully of paintings and I’m only taking one.”

Sehun looks at him with bored eyes and sips on his Macchiato. He toys with his stirrer before answering, “That’s the only order the buyer had given us,” he pokes on the plate of cheesecake in front of Jongin and gives him a ‘can i eat this’ look. Jongin nods in acknowledgement. Sehun forks the remaining pieces to his mouth. “Don’t be so greedy.”

Jongin wants to retort look who’s being greedy and you don’t even gain weight but for the second time in the day, holds his tongue back because he’s still hoping Sehun will extend his treat until lunch.

“They just cracked the security for the Mona Lisa painting and nothing more, so don’t dare,” Sehun continues through a mouthful of cheesecake, his warning sounds more of a joke. Jongin just grimaces. “.”

Sehun looks around the sea of employees flooding the cafe at 8 o’clock in the morning. There is a brunette muttering string of French curses at an employee who spilled coffee on her skirt. There’s an old man across the woman trying to take advantage of the moment to peep under the table for her . There’s this Irish girl with a platinum blonde hair and blue eyes looking at him while she her lips and inclines her neck to give him full view at the expanse of her milky white skin. He winks at her before turning to Jongin. “Be careful.”

The girl sneers at him seeing that he had chosen to give Jongin his attention rather than her obvious shenanigans. Sehun just smirks.

Jongin rolls his eyes knowing full well what Sehun was doing. He proceeds to scoff at him then. Sehun just continues, in that hushed tone Jongin thinks is absolutely unnecessary. “There’s a rumour about a ghost that allegedly guards the objects in the museum.”

Jongin really, really thinks the conspiratorial tone is inessential. At Paris, France, no one gives a heaven’s to your business or spares you a second glance. They won’t know that the two men sitting on a Starbucks cafe will be the next most wanted criminal for taking the Mona Lisa painting.

Turns out, Sehun’s instructions are more accurate than he would like to admit. He gets past the first three layers of security system without difficulties and is finally inside the museum.

He enters the place through a ventilation window in the ceiling and landed on the floor as gracefully as a cat.  From the Sully wing, he heads towards the Medieval Louvre, turns at the left entrance and takes the stairs to the 1st floor.

He follows the next set of directions written by Sehun and arrives at the historical painting of Mona Lisa within twenty minutes.

Now the real game starts here. The painting is enclosed in a bullet-resistant glass two centimetres thick with another layer of sealing box for some kind of humidity protection. Jongin laughs every time police uses the ‘bullet-proof’ term because there is no such thing as bullet-proof. Bullet-resistant exists but not bullet-proof. One way or another, there’d be a way to crack those defences by using the right amount of force and kind of bullet. And that is exactly what Jongin is going to do right now.

The client had been so kind to provide Jongin everything that he needs. It seems like he really wants this painting so bad and just doesn’t have the guts and skills to steal it himself.

He aims the riffle gun with silencer at the bottom corner where the tensile strength is at its most weakest. Sehun had taken care of the CCTV camera and uploaded a video of an empty and perfectly normal scene of the museum. He also cracked the heat sensor and it is only just up to Jongin to mess up or come back in one piece with the painting alive.

He works diligently at every corner of the box and sure enough, like what physics theory has predicted, it starts to crack at the corner and Jongin slips his hand on the opening before the glass falls off the floor completely. That had been too easy.

He removes the painting on the wall and wraps it on a cloth, then to a water-resistant bag that again, the customer has provided. “Sorry, I have nothing against you,” he says to the painting as he studies it for a while in hope of finding out what’s so special about it aside from the obvious lack of eyebrows.
