Found You AgainCorinne's POV~
"I wish I could go with you..." Raina smiled at me sadly as she shook Keylee's socked foot, pulling
a face at my daughter as she took her from me to hold her as we waited for my flight to leave.
The airport was an interesting place to the baby and she wanted to get down to explore, not to be
held hostage on my best friend's lap. "Do you have enough for her to do? It's a 15 hour flight
and that's a long time to travel with a baby." she bounced the restless girl on her knee as she
tried to distract her from her escape attempt. Not that she could get far. Keylee had only just
turned a year, she wasn't walking all that well yet.
But that would have been one more thing he missed and I didn't want that. He should at least get
her first steps, after all I got her first word (Stop) and her first tooth (Two came in together, does
that count?). I should let him have that, right? "I have toys, snacks, pacis and even her lovey is
in here. She has everything a baby needs, plus we're fortunate enough so that the flight is leaving
at night. Traveling when she should be sleeping anyway is a great idea.." I mumbled, digging
through my carry on to make sure everything that couldn't fit in her diaper bag was in there. That
bag would be a lifesaver. "And I wish you could go with me too. It'd be nice to have a sitter who
knows her already."
"Oh. So the only reason you want me to go is to play slave to this one..." Raina turned Keylee to
kiss her chubby cheek, the baby grabbing her face and smashing to my friend's. "God,
Key... Baby slob.." she screwed her face up, making my daughter giggle as she blew raspberries
on her belly. "Your mommy wants me to be your slave."
"That's not a bad idea. Maybe you can fly out when you're finished with school." I grinned, looking
over at our gate as people started lining up to board. I wasn't in a rush, though. They always
boarded First Class passengers and parents with babies first and I was both, so I didn't have to
worry. "Gimmie that..." I took Keylee from her to balance her, my bags and her car seat since it
was time to go. "I'll miss you.." I said quietly, leaning in for a hug. "And I'm serious. If you want
to come, just call me and I'll send for you. You won't even have to be Key's slave." I teased,
looking away so I would have to see her tears. "Don't cry. Because if you do, I will and we have to
go. I don't have the time to cling to you in despair, we're boarding, crazy lady..." I tried to lighten
things, so I wouldn't cry too.
"Call me when you get there. As soon as you land. I mean it Rennie.." Raina kissed Keylee one
more time before I turned to board the plane. "I love you."
I turned back to offer her a reassuring smile. "Everything's going to be OK..." I nodded resolutely.
"I love you too."
Settling in wasn't all that hard, since I done it before and I wanted everything done because once
I spoke with Kibum, I was sure that everything would turn upside down. Raina was my lifeline
during the entire month before I decided that it was time to tell him. I'd had some time to settle
into my job, Keylee spending her days with a very competent baby nurse. I had to wrap my
mind around that. Korea was wonderful in that instead of a "babysitter", babies were cared for by
women trained to care for infants and children, nothing like the 17 year old that I employed in
New York. The one I considered myself lucky to have found, simply because she knew Infant/Child
CPR and didn't invite her boyfriend over while I was gone (or did she?) was replaced by an
actual nurse that specialized in caring for babies and small children. This woman loved children
and you could see it. It made me feel better to know that my daughter was in such capable hands
when I couldn't be with her.
"Come on Noonie... We have alot to do today and we're gonna be stuck in the house all day trying
to get you ready..." I mumbled as I half wrestled with Keylee to get her dressed and ready for the
day. Getting her clothes on was easy enough, it was her hair that was bound to cause problems.
She had so much of it and she absolutely hated for me to even touch it. She'd give me a hard time
with headbands, so ponytails were out of the question. I blew my cheeks out in frustration as she
did exactly what I expected her to do. Poked her lip out and began to sob at the mere sight of the
comb. "OK, OK... No ponytail.. Just let me..." I trailed off as I picked her hair out, distracting her
with the comb so I could slip a navy and white headband over her curls. "You look adorable.." I
announced as I looked her over, navy and white polka dot top, jean leggings and matching dotted
socks, her feet still too small for shoes. My little peanut. I hoped he would love her like I did. I
sat her in her playpen so that I could dress myself, choosing my outfit carefully Should we match?
Or would that look stupid? "Forget it." I muttered, pulling on pair of white skinnies with a navy and
white top. "I need color.." I pulled on a pair of red ballet flats before adding a blazer in the same
color. I pulled my hair up in a messy bun and put on a little makeup. I didn't really wear much
anymore since my baby was sensitive to it. "Let's get outta here, bunny." I laughed as I lifted her
out of her "prison". I sighed happily as I stepped out into the warm Korean sunshine, glad it was
such a nice day. "Guess where we're going today.." I smiled at my daughter as I strapped her into
her car seat before kissing her soft cheek and laughing softly as her eyes lit up and she reached
out to touch my face. "You're going to meet your appa today..."
Key's POV~
"OK, Kibum, today you and Jonghyun have a meeting at SM, so I'll be back to get the two of you
at 5. Don't be late and please remind Jonghyun.." I nodded at manager-hyung's request. I would
have to remind him. That dumb dino thought of nothing but his radio show these days, everything
else taking a back seat. Today was a rare day off for me, well except for the meeting later, but
that was nothing. I settled onto the couch, trying to figure out what to do with my day since it was
unheard of for me to have a day off. Either I was filming, or rehearsing. Toheart, SHINee and
Bonnie and Clyde were taking up most of the days and my nights were usually spent resting or
going over my script since I wanted to do the best I could for the people who spent their money to
come see me perform. Then I had my onscreen 'wife' and the show I was filming with her. I
looked over, irritated as my phone rang, shocked as I saw the name and number that popped
onto the screen. "Corinne?" I raised an eyebrow as I decided whether or not to answer it. I didn't
know what to do. I'd been wanting to talk to her for months, but she showed me how she felt
when she wouldn't return my calls, or even pick up when I called her.
Corinne and I met when her best friend Raina moved to Korea to teach and talked Corinne into
going to a SHINee fanmeet with her one night when she'd come to start teaching herself. I
couldn't stop staring at the light brown skinned pretty girl with the big brown eyes, head full of
lengthy curls, as she looked around curiously, ocassionally leaning over to say something to
her friend with the long dark hair and pretty blue eyes. I watched them out of the corner of
my eye, since they were obviously American. I could tell simply by the way they were dressed
and acted with one another. They laughed freely, not hiding their smiles behind their hands like
girls from Korea did. They were definitely from someplace else because of their skin
colors, one a pretty pale white and the other a light caramel and I was interested in their
interactions. How they acted with one another as they observed everything going on around
them. I remember our eyes meeting and smiling as she looked away first, the act sweet to me. I
thought I lost them until it was time to meet our fans, the girls and a few boys coming up for out
autographs and to give us gifts.
I remember every little thing about her. I remember the different expressions on her face, the
pleasant surprise when she found I spoke English too. The light pink flush when my manager-
hyung asked for her contact information since I knew I wanted to get to know her better beyond
getting to meet her at a fanmeet. Our first date when we had to run away through the
back entrance of the sushi restaurant we'd gone to, some of SHINee's more persistent fans
chasing us away. We kissed there in the alley for the first time as we waited for manager-hyung
to come with the van, smiling at each other before the headlights shattered our little world. There
in the dark, where neither of us could see. Just feel.
I just knew she was 'it' for me, no other girl ever having made me feel that way. From the sweet
kisses I could steal when no one was watching, to the way we pressed against each other when
we were fortunate to be alone and the need for each other urgent, even though we couldn't
complete the act. Making out was how we survived. Until one night when we got away. Away from
fans, and managers and bosses and assignments, we finally found release with one another.
I took a deep breath, shaking myself out of my reverie as I answered. "Hello, Corinne. I see you
finally figured out how to dial a phone.." I said, trying not to be too angry with her at first. Maybe
there was a reasonable explaination why she left like she did. "Is there something I can do for
you?"
"I know you don't want to talk to me.. And you have every right to be angry but... I need to see
you, Kibum. Is there someplace we can meet today? Like, right now?" Corinne sounded nervous, almost
scared to talk to me. "I know I have no right to ask this of you, but I really need to see you. There's
something we need to talk about. Something you need to see.."
I took another deep breath and thought about that for a moment. "Do you remember where the
old dorm is?" I asked, nodding when she answered in the affirmative. "Go there and call me. I'll
give you directions to the new place from there. " I hung up and stood to straighten up a little.
Maybe whatever she needed to say would be best said in private. I walked into my bedroom to
check its state and satisfied that it was as good a it was going to get, I changed out of pajamas
and into a pair of jeans and a sweater. My phone rang and I answered it quicker than I wanted to,
not wanting her to know how eager I was to actually sit and talk with her again, even if I was
upset with her. I couldn't figure out what would make her just leave like that. "Are you there?" I
nodded after her quiet yes and gave her directions to the back of the new dorm, not wanting
anyone to accost her as she was coming in. I called security, telling them I was expecting a guest
and went into the living room to wait.
Corinne's POV~
I smiled down at my sleeping baby, nuzzling her sweet smelling hair before pulling the strap to
her diaper bag more securely over my shoulder. 'Kibum is gonna freak.' I bit my lip as the
elevator stopped on the fifth floor, the one I was instructed to go to. I stepped off and looked both
ways before turning to the left as I spotted the dorm number I was looking for, walking faster.
"C'mon, Corinne. Just get it over with.." I mumbled to myself as I lifted my hand to knock firmly
at the door, bouncing the baby gently as I waited for him to answer. 'Please love her..' I prayed
silently as I heard someone approaching the door.
"Hi..." I said quietly, Kibum's eyes widening a bit once he caught sight of the baby I carried,
faltering for just a moment before offering to help me with the bag."Thanks.." I said, stepping
inside and slipping out of my shoes, looking with surprise at the sheer amount of men's shoes right
by the front door. "Wow.. You have lots of shoes.." I murmured, looking up at a quiet scoff.
"As if I would wear half of those shoes..." Kibum shook his head, a little of his personality coming
to the surface. He was angry with me, I could tell but he would give me a chance to explain,
right? "Let's talk in here..." he led me to his bedroom, a room right near the front door, opening
the door to let me slide in. "Have a seat..." he nodded toward his bed and folded his arms as he
looked down at me.
I switched arms, the right one numb from carrying Keylee so far and laid her across my lap to
take her coat off. He stood watching in silence, although I could practically hear his mind clicking,
trying to figure out what I wanted, why I wanted to see him and who the baby was. "You can lay
her there.." he said, pulling out a blanket to lay for me before I laid my daughter down, covering
her. "What's going on, Corinne? he asked quietly, so as not to wake the baby. "I haven't heard
from you in nearly two years and all of a sudden here you are out of the blue.." he glanced at
the baby, Keylee shifting in her sleep as she scrunched her face up, making the very face that
Raina and I thought was so much like his. "Holy ." he muttered, walking toward me to take a
closer look at the baby, mouth open as he gaped at the baby. "Corinne? What....?"
I looked up at him, biting my lip at the uncertainty in his tone and on his face. "Kibum. Meet your
daughter."
