IU POV

"Baekhyun, why are you still here?" I asked

"I was going to work... But I forgot something on the way there" He said with a silly grin on his face

"Oh, what'd you forget?" I asked

"I left my phone, I got it so bye." He smiled and then left

"So, since it's just me and you. Do you wanna go hangout somewhere?" He asked

"Ehem! Sorry to interupt but I guess you guys forgot about my existence." Myungsoo came into the room

"Uh, Yeah. Myungsoo should come too!" I said 

Kai sighed, "Do what you want."

"Then I'll get ready and then we can head out." Myungsoo smiled and went to his room

"I'm gonna go get ready too." Kai said and left the room, I wonder what's wrong with him... Is he mad?

I wonder where we're going to go... Somewhere relaxing...

We all got ready and left. Myungsoo drove us to the mall.

"Why the mall?" I asked

"Because I haven't been able to get you a welcome gift yet." Myungsoo said 

"No need to! It's fine, I should be the one thanking you for letting me stay." I told him

"Don't worry. I want to give you one." He smiled at me

"I guess... But please don't spen a lot on me." I said

"Is there anywhere you would like to go to first?" He asked me

"Anywhere is fine." I said

"Then lets go." He said and held my hand

"You too Jongin. Stop having that cold expression of yours." Myungsoo said 

We went into many stores and we all tried on many different types of clothes. It was extremely tiring.

"Come on, lets go to the next store!" Myungsoo said with exitement

"Wait, can we rest for a bit. I'm kinda tired after all this shopping." I told him

"Sorry, it's just seeing you try on different types of clothes was really entertaining." He chuckled

"Yah! Sorry I'm not that pretty." I said

"It's not that. You looked really cute." He smiled, to be honest I felt embarrassed when he said that

"Let's go eat then." Kai suggested

We all agreed on crepes. I guess the three of us have a sweet tooth.

"Uwahhhh, crepes..." I looked at it in amazement

"Ahaha, you're so cute." Myungsoo said

"N-No I'm not." I said

I ate my crepe and it tasted so good! It was delicious! And I had mine with icecream too!

"You have some on your face." Kai pointed out

I tried to wipe it off with my hand, "Is it still there?" I asked

"Here." Kai said and wiped it off with a napkin

I could feel my heart beating really fast. My face felt hot.

"Are you ok Ji eun? Your face is red." Myungsoo asked

"Yeah... It's kind of hot." I said

"Let's go since we're done eating." Myungsoo said

"Yeah." We started walking

We were all walking until a girl bumped into Kai and spilled her drink all over him

"Oh my gosh! Are you ok?" The girl asked frantically

I stopped... That girl looked so familiar

"Jongin..." The girl said softly when she saw Kai's face

"Seohyun..." 

That's... The girl in the picture with Kai. Kai stood up. He was completely soaked. 

"Let me help you dry it." She offered

"It's fine. It's just water nothing big." He said

"Come on Kai, she's offering. And it is HER fault. She mind as well try to help." Myungsoo said

Her face seemed bitter from what Myungsoo said to her.

They went and sat down on a nearby bench.

Me and Myungsoo stood there, his hands in his pockets.

"Is that... Kai's ex-girlfriend?" I asked

"Oh, so you already know." Myungsoo said

"Yeah. I saw a picture of them together." I told him

"Yeah... In fact that's his first love." He said

"I know, Kai told me that." I said

"Are you jealous?" Myungsoo smirked

"No, ofcourse not." I said and looked down

"You obviously are." He said

"Am not!" I stated

"Sure, whatever you say." He said sarcastically

"I'm not... But, can I ask you something?" I asked 

"Sure, what is it?" He asked

"Well... Why did they break up?" I asked

He sighed, "It's a long story."

"Don't worry, I'm a good listener." I told him

"Haha, you're so cute. Well I guess I'll just tell you the main details." He said

"It was two years ago. Kai was deeply in love with her. He loved her a lot. He finally had the courage to ask her out. And that's when they started going out. Kai was very popular in school. As expected from my younger brother. I was in my senior year. I never really liked Seohyun. To me it felt like a one-sided love. Kai loved her, but she didn't. Even though she would say to him that she loves him. It never felt sincere. I found out that Seohyun was dating another guy at the same time. I told Kai about it. But he didn't believe me. He said that Seohyun would never do anything like that. To her, Kai was just someone that comforted her whenever her other boyfriend got into an arguement with her. I had enough of it and so I confronted Seohyun and she said that it wasn't her fault. She said that Kai loved her so that's why he stayed with her, she didn't force him to stay. It was his own decision. Kai heard all of this and asked her if this was all true. She said it was and said that she never actually loved him. That she used him. Ever since then Kai has never truly loved a girl." Myungsoo explained

"That must've been hard on him." I said

"It was. He was played. And so he decided that instead of being played. He will be the one to play." Myungsoo said

"But, changing into a player isn't the right answer." I said

"It was his own decision." He said and walked towards to Kai and Seohyun.

"Are you guys done?" Myungsoo asked

"Yeah. Let's go." Kai said and stood up

"Let's go Ji eun." Kai said and took hold of my arm

What's going on inside your head Kai? I want to know...

Myungsoo POV

"Myungsoo!" Seohyun yelled out my name

"What?" I asked

"Who is that girl?" She asked

"Why?" I asked

"Is she Jongin's girlfriend?" She asked

"And if she is?" I asked

"Jongin won't love her. Because I'm the only one that he'll ever truly love." She said with a smirk

"Don't be so cocky. That girl is a hundred times better than you'll ever be." I told her

"Just watch! I'll make Jongin come back to me." She said and walked off

Ji eun... I'm counting on you. I hope that you'll decide to stay with Kai. And I hope that these feelings of mine of you will soon wither away. Because I don't want Kai's heart to break twice.

IU POV

"Kai, you can let go of my arm now." I said but he didn't let go

"Where's Myungsoo?" I asked looking back

"Can you not mention his name. It's always Myungsoo this or Myungsoo that, do you love him or something?" He asked

"I... I don't, how'd you get that idea?" I asked, why was Kai this mad

"Stop. Stop being with other guys. It annoys me." He said and hugged me

"Kai, let go of me." I demanded

"I won't." Be said and held me tighter

"Don't hold me if you don't even like me." I said

"But I do. I like you." He said

"Why are you lying? I heard you this morning today. You said you had absolutely no interest in me!" I yelled

"You heard?" He asked and slowly pulled away

"Yeah... I heard. You don't like me. So stop playing around with me. Besides, the one I love is Baekhyun." I told him

Why did this feel painful. It felt like my mind was saying one thing and then my heart was saying another.

"Right... Baekhyun, ofcourse you would love him." He let go of me

"Hey, guys sorry for taking so long. I had some business to take care of." Myungsoo chuckled

"It's fine. Let's go" Kai said and turned away

Love is indeed painful. It's very painful. When you see the one you love with someone else. When you let them go. when you see them sad, when you can't make a decision... Why is love so painful?...
