Hide Yourself No More - Incomplete
Description
1947 - America
From the outside, most see Jungwoo as a lucky person. He has a large group of friends, has a loving family, in line to take over his father's Department Chief position, and has women flocking for his attention everywhere. And as with any other person who looks perfect from the outside, he has just one flaw.
"It's my greatest curse, being attracted to men."
At a time when society has deemed homouality immoral and illegal, Jungwoo should be an outcast, or locked away in a prison somewhere. Fortunate for him however, he grew up with friends who, though some do not approve, support him through all of his trials, and even accepted him as the leader of their little 'gang'. He had always believed he would live his life with just this group, grow old with no one to love, but like some strange fairytale, he would get his chance at love.
Just what could he do with someone who daringly admits to what they are, especially when he has been trying to hide it for so long.
Foreword
This WILL end up rather angsty, and there WILL be character death.... Don't say I didn't warn you :)
Originally, I was going to write a circus style story with the same lead pairing, but I gave up and chose instead to follow this idea :D Oh, and then this was also only going to be a (possibly ty) one shot :/ Yeah, that suddenly got a lot longer and lost the :/
Inspiration came from SPEED's 'Hey Ma Lady' and a sudden need to write something in the swing era, and I apologise profusely if it does not live up to your expectations.... And also, I do not use any city names or anything like that because I'm lazy, so if you want to base it somewhere you know and not America, then feel free :) (psst~~ I don't even live there ;P I'm Aussie :D)
So anyways, here is my main character list, minus the OC's because I can't be bothered trying to find a bunch of 1940 post-war appearance white people - use your imagination folks :P
Kim Jungwoo 'Jonathan'
Age: 25
After his birth, his mother fled from the rich society, choosing to raise him and his three year older half-brother amongst those of her class. Growing up, he gained a group of friends who, even after he accidentally revealed his preference for men, stuck by him and protected him, even when their families tried pulling them apart. He was twelve when he was introduced to his father, and from then, he was raised in the business world preparing him for when his father would step down and let him take over.
Woo Jiseok 'Zane'
Age: 25
Heir to one of the wealthiest Korean businessmen, Jiseok is sick of his life. Due to a father who only cares for him when business matters are of concern, and a mother pestering him to marry quickly though he continues to inform her that he has no interest for the female species, he rebels ceaselessly, and carefully parades his desire to find himself the right man. After a friend informs him of a gang leader she knows of who could reciprocate his feelings, Jiseok escapes from a semi-formal event, to which he had no need to attend, and makes his way down-town to meet the man.
Park Jungmin 'Turner'
Age: 28
Jungwoo's older half-brother. Separated from Jungwoo when their fathers wanted to meet them, he spent five years rebelling against his father before he was able to escape. No longer considered the man's son, he spent a couple of years with his mother, Jungwoo, and Jungwoo's father, helping his brother through the early years of learning about the business world, before moving in with his lover, childhood sweetheart Hyunjoong. The next years saw him assisting in the orphan homes in lower class areas, particularly those dedicated to non-white children. An unforseen event draws him back to Jungwoo and his family, seeking solace once again.
