I sigh as I was escorted to the throne room. "what could mom and dad want , waking me up so early"  I thought.

"princess ? Are you alright ? " Mai , my maid and friend, whispered. I nodded my head.

Once we reached the throne room , Mai and the others were not allowed to enter , because this was the royal family's business and no one else's

"good morning , (Y/N)" My father the king greeted me.

"good morning father , mother" I replied. My mother the Queen smiled.

"dear , we need to have a little chat about certain things regarding you" My mother started.  I looked at her intently.  My father sighed, " we should just tell her straight out , dear " my father said.i wonder what it could be for both of them to so nervous, I thought. "what is it mother , father ? I'm sure I can take it" I said.

"your getting married a year from now , (Y/N)" my mother said like it was the greatest thing in the world.

"what did you just say mother ? " I said in utter shock. "I know it hard ----" my father said but I cut him off. "no father you do not , I'm not even 18 yet and your telling I'm getting married next year ?!" I exclaimed. " It is your duty as the Vampire Princess , it is vampire tradition" my father said.

Ahh yes , vampire tradition being born a girl is rare to be born a girl in the noble line is very rare , but to born as the daughter of the current king is the rarest. It is Vampire Law that the princess is to choose the next king through marriage.

"well that means I'm getting a brother-in-law soon" a voice said.
