Sungmin smiled happily, adding a pinch of salt to the egg he was cooking on the pan. It was early in the morning and he was cooking breakfast for himself and Kyuhyun. He hummed softly, watching the egg yolk cook into a nice golden yellow. He was so immersed in what he was doing that he failed to sense his husband coming up from behind, lured in by the smell of his dish.

“Wow, that smells good Min, are we having fried eggs for breakfast?” Kyuhyun asked, salivating slightly at the sight of food.

“K-Kyuhyun-ah!” Sungmin almost leapt three meters into the air in surprise. “G-Good Morning~” he stuttered a little, but thank goodness his husband didn’t notice. “Uh…yeah, I’m still not done cooking though!” and he nudged Kyuhyun away from the kitchen “You go ahead and sit down okay? I’ll finish breakfast in a bit!”

“Are you sure? I can help…” the older began, then trailed off because he remembered the last time he tried to help Sungmin ended up in a disaster and his poor younger spouse had to redo the meal by himself all over again. “O-Okay, I’ll just sit down then…”

Sungmin pecked him on the cheek, instantly bringing up the man’s mood and he obediently followed his spouse’s request. When he was completely out of the kitchen did Sungmin sigh out in relief. “Whew…” he thought, going over to the fridge where he has secretly prepared a whole chicken and stocked wine they could share later. He was planning to surprise his husband, so he had to make sure he stayed away from the kitchen. He smiled, already feeling giddy for his plan.

Why was he planning something special? The reason was really simple…

“It’s Kyuhyun-ah’s birthday today!” he thought excitedly, as he made his way to school. “I always prepare normal food at home, so this time I’m going to make something classy and make him feel extra special!”

---Inside Sungmin’s mind theater---

“Whoa~ Sungmin! This is a feast!” Kyuhyun said as he stared at the food in front of him, all prepared and cooked to perfection by his spouse. “You did all this for me?”

Sungmin nods, happy because Kyuhyun loved his surprise. “Of course, Happy Birthday Kyuhyun-ah…” he said, blushing.

“Sungmin…I never thought you’d be this thoughtful…you’re wonderful…you’re really perfect!”

“K-Kyuhyun-ah…”

“I love you…Sungmin…” then Kyuhyun kissed him deeply, his hand slipping inside Sungmin’s shirt and making the younger gasp and tilt his head back, aching for more.

“Sungmin-ah….”
