Yong Guk took a quiet stroll downtown Seoul, clearing his head of the busy schedules the young idol manage to clutter his mind with. A concert here, a recording session there, photoshoots and not to mention the hours of songwriting for his next come back that is quickly rearing it’s life consuming head.

    Yong Guk sighed, relieving stress. Daylight was reaching its and it was almost time to head back to the dorm for early night curfew and start anew in the morning. Street lights and headlights were flickering on, and playing children retreated back to their appropriate homes.

The nightlife was just awakening.

As Yong Guk was about to turn his heel and walk back to the dorms, his eyes caught quite the sight.

A car raced down the streets of Seoul in such hurry without caution as well as disobeying the rules of the road.

His heart stopped as he noticed a kitten taking it’s precious time crossing the road, His eyes widened.

“No!” Yong Guk yelled as he took off in a sprint toward the racing vehicle.

He wasn’t going to make it, the young kitten life was coming to hault. Time slowed down, his crazed heartbeat drowned out the sound the of the screeching tires including the rest of the world.

And then, the unimaginable occured…

A young girl jolted to the middle of the street, scooping up the kitten into the palm of her hand, cradling it tight. The car still sped down, closing in on the couple. Yong Guk’s legs accelerated, forcing himself to move beyond what his body allowed.

“No!” He let out once more before time ceased to exist.

It became a blur.

The car hit the brakes, screeching and swerving to the side attempting not to hit the two. The girl closed her eyes awaiting upon her impending doom. However, D-day did not approach, opening her eyes the girl saw stopped car and what seemed to be a concerned Korean man speaking in foreign tongues. She stared at him, not knowing what to do, not knowing what to say or how to say it.

She began bowing her head in reassurance, hoping he’d understand.

Yong Guk sighed in relief and rushed to the girl’s aid. He quickly took note that she didn’t speak or understand Korean. she repeated “I’m fine, I’m fine.” in English. Immediately he took over.

“She say’s she’s fine, sire. Thank-you for concern. But please do be careful when driving when there are pedestrians or sweet little kittens on the streets.”

    The man seemed rather apologetic. “Yes, I’m relieved that she is safe. I will be more cautious from now on.” and with that, the concerned Korean man left the scene and went on his way.

    Yong Guk then turned to the girl on his left, his thick accent escaped his throat.

    “Are you alright? You are not hurt?”

    Her eyes widened and fell agape, she couldn’t believe her eyes. It was him. The one man she has adored from afar for so long, the one man who she never thought would acknowledge her existence. Bang Yong Guk. The BYG. His trademark gummy smile colored his face as he awaited her answer. He knew she recognized him, no other explanation could describe her reaction. It was priceless. The kitten struggled to escape her tight grip but to no avail, the kitten’s captor was too engrossed by the perfection carved by the Greek gods themselves. (Yes. Greek Gods. Not Korean. GREEK.) Yong Guk chuckled lightly.

“Miss, are you alright? ” his accent spilled passed his lips once more.

“Uh..um...Yes. Yes, I am. Thank-you.” you felt the kitten struggle within your embrace, “Oh, sorry!” you let go of brown ball of fur.

“You don’t speak much Korean do you?” he chuckled.

She blushed and tucked her head into her shoulders in embarrassment.

“No...”

He laughed once more. “It’s okay, It’s a joke. What is your name?”

“Jade, nice to meet you, Oppa.”

“Oppa?” his smile widen.

Her cheeks flushed 50 more shades of red if humanly possible.

“Joke, Jade. You are very cute! ” his accent was rough and smooth as he spoke to her.

She was cute, Jade had heard right. Unless her ears were broken or the car actually did hit her head on and she was in heaven, that is. Yup, that explains it, she’s dead. Oppa would never willingly suggest that Jade was cute, sober. In fact, which idol would? This is a LOL moment, if one would exist.

However,

Bang Yong Guk wasn’t one to lie, he genuinely thought she was just adorable. Her dark brown straight hair resting mid-back, her gorgeous pools of dark chocolate; large and sparkling in his presence. Those hard-to-resist freckles, lightly sprinkled upon the bridge of her nose and cheeks. The wandering eyes of the young idol took notice to her physique. Jade possessed slight curves, a healthy average figure with an equally curvy pair to match.

Jade didn’t quite fit the ideal image, Yong Guk yearned for.

But she was indeed exquisite.

“I’m sorry.” her eyes grew apologetic.

“Why?” he answered.

“Because, you must have been so busy, and stop and try to help me and a cat escape death.”

Yong Guk took a moment, keeping eye contact as he calculated what she had said.

“Oh, oohh!” He began laughing.

“I was taking a walk already, I always have to help. I like helping!”

A smile took her lips hostage.

“Thank you very much, um...”

He nodded in return but quickly discovered she battled within her mind for something.

“What’s wrong?”

“Can I call you Oppa?”

Jade was contagious, she had him laughing up a storm and it hasn’t been 20 minutes since their meeting. He enjoyed that. She was awkward and seemed a bit quirky, it was foreign from what Yong Guk was used to but he liked it.

“Yes!”

She slightly bowed her head in respect, hoping that was the right thing to do at the time.

“I will walk you back, where do you stay?”

This had taken Jade aback.

“What? No! No! It’s okay! Really!”

“I want to, please?”

Those eyes, unbeknownst to Yong Guk, he looked at Jade with such eyes. Almost puppy-like.

“Okay.” her smile still intact.

His smile returned and he gestured Jade to take the lead.

“Did you move here?” Oh that accent of his.

“Oh, no. Just here for a visit with friends. We made enough money to stay for the month of July!”

Yong Guk took another moment, putting a few words together before nodding his head.

She continued,“This upcoming fall is my last semester of college, so this is a little celebration before hitting the books once last time…Oh! I’m sorry, am I saying too much? I talk a lot.” she concluded with a bashful chortle.

“No,” he looked at her, “Why did you not wait until after college to visit Korea?”

“Because,” she blushed; she was going for it, “I wouldn’t have met you Oppa.”

Yong Guk lowered his head, he stared at the ground with that beloved gummy grin and a light pink coloring his cheeks. No one has ever made him smile and or blush for that matter this much.

After a good half hour, the couple  finally reached their destination. Luckily Bang’s dorm was just down the street from where Jade was staying.

“Thank-you for walking me back, Oppa.” your hands cupped in front of you, allowing you to possess a look of innocence.

“You’re welcome, maybe I will see you again sometime?”

“Yes, that would be nice.”

“Good night Jade, sleep well.” he turned his heel to walk away.

“Pleasant dreams, Oppa!”

Pleasant dreams? Really? Stupid! You began mentally beating yourself up for saying the wrong thing.

You reach your hotel room, your friends weren’t back yet. They took the advantage of shopping at the mall, all the while she simply wanted to take in her surrounding of beautiful Seoul, Korea. It wasn’t that she disliked shopping, she loved to shop til she drop buying the latest Korean fashion was definitely on top of her to do list; however, the scenery seemed more important and how right she was.

Jade walked over to the mirror in the bathroom and stared at the goofy grinning girl in front of her. Before she knew it, she had her hands cupped over and started to scream.

“I MET HIM! BANG YONG GUK! OH MAH GAWD!”

She begins jogging in place and flapping her arms about like a complete moron with tears streaming down her face.

“OPPA NOTICED MEEEE! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!”
