Nicole checked left and right. No one.. she sighed in relief. She closed her eyes and counted up to ten before putting her letter in Luhan's locker. Done.. she bit her bottom lip.

She couldn't turn back now. After keeping her feelings for so long she has finally managed to put herself together to confess to Luhan. Luhan.. the only thought of him made her grin like a little kid.

Luhan was simply perfect. From his angelic eyes, gentle smile and prince-like aura. He was nice to everyone, very friendly. Everyone adored him, teachers included because of his high grades. How many times Nicole daydreamed about him in classes? They happened to have brief conversations from time to time but it was always about school.

She was immersed in her thoughts on her way back home. A lot of insecurities were eating her up. Maybe I shouldn't have written that letter.. he'll think I'm an old-fashioned girl. Well, maybe I am.. she pouted. The truth was that it was her first time to confess to a guy. She was always the one being confessed to until she drifted apart from her old life and friends.

 

Nicole used to always be one of the most loved students at school. From kindergarten to her first year in high school. She had the looks, a charming smile, a good head on her shoulders. She had her circle of friends.

" Cool people hang out with cool people " their motto.

They had their group of followers who treated them like gods and goddesses. People would wait for them at the entrance in the morning to greet them. They longed for those cool people to look at them, to talk to them, to get their approval for their new hair, new look. Cool people approval meant that you did things right.

Nicole and her friends used to organize big parties, naturally inviting only those who deserved it. Others who organized parties would make sure to invite Nicole and her friends too because their presence alone meant that the party was worthy.

Until that day.. Nicole looked at herself. She looked stunning. How much time and money she spent on her clothes, hair and make up. Another night another party. Same drinks, same music, same people.. She sighed.

Isn't it a little bit too repetitive? She went to the party with questions storming her. She listened to her friends conversations and they were talking about make up, hair and clothes. Oh! Boys, that was given. Don't they ever get bored? Don't they have anything else to talk about? She was feeling like she didn't belong there. She wasn't happy there.

She spent the whole night wandering around the cold empty streets of Seoul thinking about herself and how she was managing her life. What are my interests? What are my projects? My future.. And the day after she set her new priorities. She went to school with only a little bit of bb cream, her glasses on and her hair into a bun. She felt fresh.

Her friends looked at her dumfounded. How could she go out looking like that? Was she sick? She chuckled and shook her head " No.. I'm only going for a change " but unlike what she expected.. her friends didn't like the change. They said that she was different and not in a good way.

They accused her of not fitting the group high-standards anymore and if she didn't go back to her old self she couldn't be with them because she was embarrassing.

Nicole felt backstabbed. She was deeply hurt by those so called friends but that didn't last long. They didn't deserve to be called friends, they weren't worth her pain. She dried her tears and put on her charming smile again. In that moment she felt relieved because she found out the truth and she could really start anew.

As Luhan stood up in front of his locker her world stopped. That was it.. She thought. He opened it. Omo omo omo.. She covered her eyes but still peeked a little. He grabbed his books and closed it again. What.. He didn't look surprised or.. He casually walked up to his friends and started joking with them.

She didn't listen to a word that came out from their teachers' mouth. She kept on thinking about Luhan and her letter. He must've seen it.. maybe he didn't read it or maybe he did and he's thinking that I'm weird. He must be thinking of a nice way to tell me that he doesn't like me. She gave out a deep sigh. I wonder if he would've liked the old Nicole.

What should I do? She dropped herself on her big soft bed.

" Unnie, where's my dress? " Jiyoung asked annoyed.

" Which one? "

" The white and green one, the newest one! "

Nicole lazily got up and went to look for it. It didn't take long. As usual Jiyoung took the easy path and asked her rather than trying to look for her stuff by herself. This kid....

Jiyoung is her younger sister. She used to be really cute and sweet. She used to listen to everything she said and looked at her like she was her mom.

Their mom and dad are abroad, they're working in the US and left them by themselves. It sounded pretty cool at first since they didn't have parents trying to control them. Only after she started a new chapter of her life she realized the responsibilities she had on her and she learned how to manage money, take care of the house and Jiyoung. Be mature and responsible, Nicole!

She taught Jiyoung the principles and values she had to treassure because she didn't want her to make her mistakes. Jiyoung used to assure her that she definitely wasn't " Thanks to unnie " she would hug her and give her a kiss on the cheek.

When Jiyoung started attending her school history repeated itself. She had her circle of friends, group of followers and she often organized parties. Nicole warned her many times " Jing, remember what I taught you? I've experienced this, it's not worth it "

" Annoying! We're different, unnie! " the more Nicole nagged the more she went against her and things between them turned ugly. She is treating her like she was her own maid and at school she completely ignores her older sister.

" Where are you going? " Nicole asked. She rolled her eyes " Out " she answered flatly.

" With who? " she shivered when the younger threw a deadly stare at her " With Sehun!! " and she left slamming the door behind.

Oh Sehun is her boyfriend and he is no other than Luhan's younger brother. They got perfect genes in that family. He's cute and nice like Luhan but there are times that he looks cold and acts a little bit like a spoiled brat. Whatever.. Jiyoung is the one bossing him around.
