Mittens
Before the Bus ComesIt was probably one of the coldest days this year. The wind blew away all the moist and the warmth leaving the land all dry. Luckily you were prepared like always. You had more layers on than you needed and enough coverings through layers of hoodies over your head. With your favourite songs blasted into your ears, you were not that impatient with the bus. You came to the bus stop area of the university and silently waited for your bus in the open bus shelter. Maybe because it was extremely cold, people hurried home before the sun could set. So there weren't that many people around and everyone seemed to mind their own business.
At some point, a guy walked into the same bus shelter. You noticed he was holding a cup of coffee, you assumed. You noticed how his north face jacket looked so warm. But unfortunately this guy did not prepare well for tonight's weather other than his jacket. His bare hands clinged on the coffee cup for warmth. He had a sleek black SnapBack on which would have been cooler if it was summer time but it was such a mistake for this cold night.
What intrigued you were his ears. No they weren't extremely protruding or anything. But they were becoming red by the second. You noticed he used his hands to keep them warm for a few seconds, alternating between right and left to gather warmth from the cup. But how much a bare hand could do in minus weather like such.
