You (Kim Jae Eun)
An ordinary girl who was living outside the palace since young because your mother (the wife of a prince) brought you away to live alone. After your mother died, your uncle (the king) got his men in search of you and brought you back to the palace, making you a princess.

Kim Hyun Joong
1st prince, the real son of the queen and the true successor of the throne. He is a warm and nice guy in front of his parents, but aggressive and ignorant when he is out of their sight. Has really good sword skills, and his looks has caught the heart of many females. He has a pet dog (golden retriever) that he loves a lot.

Kim Young Saeng
2nd prince, closest with Hyun Joong, a bad boy with lots of tricks up to his sleeve.

Kim Kyu Jong
3rd prince, the one whom the king dislikes the most because of his mother (concubine) was not well loved one. Because of that, he became a aggressive and ignorant guy who caused trouble in the palace to seek for attention. Once when they were young, he protected Jung Min from Hyun Joong's bully, and Jung Min was still grateful to him up till today.

Kim Jung Min
4th prince, well-known for being a big gentleman and apart from his good looks, he has a good talent of speaking. His dad (the king) made him in-charge of speaking and debating with the neighboring countries. In love with horses and like talking to them to share his troubles.

Kim Hyung Jun
5th prince, the youngest prince in the palace, also a son of the queen. Closest with Jung Min though the two might sometimes quarrel due to some disagreements.

Kim Seung Jin
The king.
