Foreword

Prologue

April 27, 2013 7:14 pm (PST) - April 28, 2013 12:13 pm (Korea time)

Gabby smiled as she finished the last verse of the song she was painstakingly working on for the past week. One song down, two more to go and she still had three weeks until her final deadline. With a triumphet 'Wooh!' she plopped down on her bed and her older sister's laptop. She went straight to skype and messeged her favorite dongsaeng, asking if he was free to talk. Within minitues, she recived a video chat call.

When she accepted the call, a little brunette boy wearing a hat popped up on screen. Gabby shot him a weird look as he smiled creepily at the camera. "Sammy stop looking like a creeper, unnie said one day a mysterious wind will blow and your face will be stuck like that forever."

In retaliation, Samuel made an even creepier face which made Gabby cringe. "You know you love my beautiful face noona, no matter how it looks."

"Mhmm... Who lied to you?" Sammy feigned a hurt expression which made Gabby laugh.

"Where's Jullie-hyung?" Gabby shrugged.

"Probably playing videogames or something in his room."

Samuel was about to say something, but stopped when he heard his name being called.

"Hey Muel-ah is that Gabby?" the aforementioned girl heard from the background. It was accompanied by the shuffling of feet and soon enough Samuel was squished between 13 other boys. Collectively they all greeted her in their own mix-matched ways.

"Hey Gabby!" "Nihao didi (Hello little sister)." "Gabs!" "Yo!" "Annyeong~!" "Did you miss oppa?"

“Ayo guys! So how's life been since I last talked to you guys?” Gabby smiled at the sight of Seventeen.

“Boring.” “Eat, school, practice, eat, and sleep.” “Same as always…..”

“So how is our favorite shortie?” Mingyu said with his usual smile.

“HEY!! I’M NOT THAT SHORT YOU POOPIE HEADS!”

“Yea right. You’re like 140 cm.” “Dream on shortie.”

“Ugh, I hate you guys.” she pouted. She looked at Wonwoo through the screen with a deadly glare, "And for you're information Woo-, I am 144 cm! Get it straight!"

'Woo-' snorted, "4 cm so makes a difference." that comment earned him a bonk on the head from the eldest of the boys.

Indignantly, Gabby stuck her tounge out to the webcam while the boys on the other side of it chuckled at her childish antics. After their laughing subsided Gabby went on asnwering Mingyu's original question. "I've been good oppa. Writing songs, going to school, trying to keep unnie from making me go crazy. The usual." she gave a cheeky smile. The word 'unnie' peaked the boy's interests. Gabby had mentioned her older sister a few times and they've heard her talk to Gabby while they webcammed from time to time, but they never got to meet the infamous 'unnie'.

Sammy smiled, but from the corner of the screen Gabby only saw from his nose up. "Hehehe has the evil lady gone crazy yet?"

"Sammy stop calling unnie evil." she huffed for a moment, but then a thought ran across her mind. "She is kind of evil though... I mean she annoys me so much sometimes just for fun! I'm the younger one! I should be the one annoying her, not the other way around."

"I resent that kiddo." Gabby jolted in surprise and turned around to find her unnie leaned against the doorframe with an amused smile playing her lips.

"Manang (Ilocano*: Older sister) don't scare me like that!" The boys were curious to finally see Gabby's sister, but the laptop was angled in way where they could only see Gabby's back as she turned away from them.

"Sigurado muli mong pakikipag-usap sa Sammy at ang kanyang mga kaibigan?" Gabby made a face, showing her lack of understanding what her older sister said. Ellie shook her head and reverted back to english, "Are you talking to Sammy and his friends again?"

"Oh! Why didn't you just say that in the first place?"

"Because you need to brush up on your Tagolog."

"But mom and dad speak Ilocano and I barely understand that!"

"So?"

"... You're annoying Manang."

"I try."

"... Yes, I'm talking to the little boy and his friends..."

"Well tell them bye... Kailangan naming i-pack (Tagolog: We need to pack)."

"Can't you speak English for once in your life?"

"I do. I'm doing it right now, aren't I?"

"... You're mean."

"Oh stop stating the obvious and say bye, bye to your friends." Ellie turned and left, leaving Gabby to turn back to the laptop. The boys looked at her expectantly, but she gave them a sheepish smile in return.

"Looks like I gotta go now you guys. Talk to you guys later!" after they all said their goodbyes, the screen went blank.

*Ilocano is another dialect/language in Philippines. Tagalog is the most common.
