Taeyeon’s POV

It’s one bright sun-shiny morning again. Although, I really want to sleep some more, I can’t. I had to prepare for school.

“Good morning!” I greeted as I went downstairs heading to the kitchen. I saw my mom preparing breakfast while dad was reading a newspaper and Hyun Joong oppa was sipping his coffee

“Good morning Tae!” they answered me back

“Where’s Jongin?” I asked as I poured some milk on my glass

“Probably still asleep” oppa answered.

“Hyun Joonga ~go upstairs and wake your brother. And you Taengoo, come here and help mom prepare breakfast” mom commanded and both of us followed. Minutes later, we heard some shouting from Jongin’s room. And then we heard Jongin’s running footsteps

“Umma!!!! Why did you send hyung to wake me up? Why not Tae noona?” Jongin whined as he made his way to hide behind my mother’s back

“Yah! Kim Jongin, come back here and prepare for school” Oppa shouted from the stairs. Oppa, is a strict older brother and sadistic which is why Jongin hates it when Hyun Joong oppa wakes him up. But he has a kind and humorous side too.

“Aigooo~ my baby Jongin. Taengoo is busy here helping me” mom reasoned out

“Aish, you should have asked hyung to help you and noona to wake me up” he protested

“So, what did oppa do to you this time?” I asked

“He pushed me off my bed, look my arm is turning violet”

“Jongin, simple means don’t work on you I had to make drastic measures” Oppa mockingly explained which made all of us chuckle and Jongin pout

*phone alarm ringing*

“Oh! Shoot I have to go!” I hissed and hastily got on my tracks towards the gate

“leaving already Princess?” dad asked

“Yes dad. Bye-bye” I kissed each one of them

“You’re not eating?” mom asked

“Ani, milk is fine and besides I really need to go” I answered as I struggled to wear my shoes

“Take care Tae/ Taengoo/ Noona/ Princess” they all said together and I gave them a smile and waved.

‘I have to hurry or else I will miss him’ I thought to myself as I scrammed and walked towards the gate. As soon as I opened the gate I saw him, the ever handsome Oh Sehun, my best friend for years now.

“Good morning Sehun-ssi!” I greeted trying to get his attention.

“Good morning Tae” he greeted back with his oh so beautiful smile. “shall we walk to school together?” he asked and I nodded.

6:45 a.m. - Oh Sehun would pass by our house and walk to school

Yes, I am undeniably in love with this guy. I mean, who wouldn’t be? He’s perfect in all aspects. And I am so blessed to be his neighbor and given the title ‘best friend’, the envy of every fan girl. I don’t really mind earning haters, Sehun and Jessica, my girl best friend is enough for me.

*beep*

It was Sehun’s phone. He immediately read the message and quickly replied.

“who was that?” I asked

“ah… nobody” he answered.

‘Liar’ I frowned at the thought of him lying. Its probably a girl who texted him. I am jealous, yes. But I can’t show it to him. I faked a smile and nodded. We headed towards school and soon parted ways Sehun after all is a year younger, he is the same age as Jongin (yeah, I’m corrupting minors)

-classroom-

Some of our subjects just ended, it is now time for our break. It’s crowded outside and I dislike it. So, I just sat on my seat even though I’m so freaking hungry. Who says milk is enough? I’m so stupid -_-

“What’s with the frown, Tae?” Jessica asked. I just looked at her and heaved a sigh

“Aish, why won’t you just confess to him, Tae?” she suggested while nudging me

“It’s easier said than done Jess” I replied looking out the window

“Well, confessing is really a difficult task. But, come on how will he know how you feel if you don’t tell him anything?”

“Easy for you to say Jess. When you confessed to Hyun Joong oppa you weren’t his best friend or childhood friend or so. I, on the other hand, have both titles” I said still not looking at her

“What’s wrong with being my best friend or childhood friend Tae?” I gasped hearing such statement from a very familiar voice. ! It can’t be him right? How in the world would he be here?

“Hey, Taeyeon!” I slowly turned my back. Damn, it really is him.

“N-n-n-nothing. What are you doing here Sehun ssi?” I asked trying to deviate the topic.

“Jongin asked me to bring food for you. He said you didn’t have anything, just milk” he said handing me the food he was talking about.

“Oh, thanks Sehun ssi. You are just in time. I was starting to get hungry” I said smiling shyly

“Yah, Sehun” Jessica called out

“Yes, Noona?” Sehun asked

“Why aren’t you calling Taeyeon noona? You call every older woman noona, but how come not Tae?” Wah daebak, Jessica really is sharp. I didn’t notice that at all

third person pov

“w-w-w-well, Taeyeon is special. I should be going now. see you after school Taeyeon” the flustered Sehun left the dumbfounded Taeyeon

‘special?’ Taeyeon thought

“Oh my gosh, Tae! He said you were special! Doesn’t that mean that you should just confess to him already?” Jessica immediately started to chatter as soon as Sehun was out of sight. She was giggling and  shaking Taeyeon whose soul left her body.

As soon as Taeyeon’s soul went back to her body, her face immediately started to turn red as a tomato. Both Jessica and Taeyeon were giggling. Well, almost all the girls in class were giggling because Sehun just came into their room and started shooting their hearts with his smile.

-afterschool-

“listen carefully Tae, it’s now or never understand?” Jessica coached the seemingly lifeless Taeyeon who was nodding slowly. Jessica stopped on her track

“yah! Kim Taeyeon! What’s wrong with you? He just said you’re special, right? How come you’re so down?” Jessica asked

“listen Jess, what if he meant special because I am his best friend not as a woman” Taeyeon explained who just continued walking

 “oh-kay, so explain to me why he won’t call you noona? Isn’t it because he wants you to see him as man who deserves you?” Jessica continued to investigate and caught up with Taeyeon

“we’ve been friends for years Jess, were just too familiar with each other that’s all” Taeyeon

“why are you so damn pessimistic Tae? It’s so unlike you” Jessica

“well, I don’t know Jess maybe its cause -” Taeyeon halted as she saw Sehun with a girl who seems to be confessing to him. Jessica gasped as she saw what made Taeyeon froze

“Let’s move closer Tae” Jessica dragged Taeyeon and hid behind the pillar

“You called me out?” Sehun asked

“Sehun ssi… I like you. Please go out with me” the girl said

‘wow, pretty straightforward’ both Jessica and Taeyeon thought

Sehun closed his eyes for a few seconds and smiled. Both Jessica and Taeyeon thought Sehun was going to accept her confession, seeing that Sehun smiled

“Mianhe. I am happy to hear that Sulli, but I have to say no” Taeyeon was finally able to breathe with what she heard.

“Waeyo? You’re not dating anyone right? Weh?” Sulli asked sounding desperate

“Yes, it is true that I am not dating anyone. But, I have someone whom I hold close to my heart and she’s very special. Mianhe” Sehun politely answered and left.

Jessica and Taeyeon started walking again. When Taeyeon saw Sehun by the school gate…

“Jess,” Taeyeon called out her friend “I think I should just tell him today. Wish me luck” Taeyeon declared

“Taeyeon, fighting!” Jessica said as she hugged her friend. Taeyeon ran towards Sehun and both of them waved farewell to Jessica
