Foreword

Hi, this is my second chaptered Boy x Boy story.
Hope you like it!

```
Title: Trust
Pairing(s): YunJae
Genre(s): Romance, angst, psychological
Length: Chaptered
Rating: PG-13 for language and ual implications
Summary: When Jaejoong received a handsome scholarship to study in the best art school in Korea, he was expecting a glamorous career involving concert halls, grand pianos, glorious competition prizes, and ecstatic audiences. He did not expect the extreme competitiveness, betrayal and distrust, and the critical reception all audiences gave to the performers. Most of all, he did not expect to fall in love with his own piano teacher.
Warning: It's a Boy x Boy fanfiction.
Credits: The plot is by me (it is based on a true story), while the poster is by Rainy Fae from Artsy Asian Crew (artsyasiancrew.co.nr/)
Jaejoong's POV
In your mind, imagine two photographs laid side by side on a table made of oak. Look at the one on your left.
There is a young scrawny-looking boy with a pale feminine face and shiny black hair. He is smiling widely at the camera with his bright hazel eyes glistening in the sunlight. His second and third fingers form a 'V' in front of his face. He looks as if he is the happiest boy in the world.
Now look at the photograph on your right.
There is an older-looking boy with dark circles around his practically dead eyes. His eyelids look as if they weighed more than him. His cheeks are sunken and his black hair is tangled. He is very skinny, almost anorexic one would say, and his face is sickly pale. The ends of his fingers are bandaged, and they are pressing down onto the monochromatic keys of a brand new piano.
If I were to say that these two photographs were taken within a year and that they depict the same person, would you believe me?
If you don't, then good for you. You have faith in happy endings and sincerely believe that things will work out.
If you do, then would you believe me if I said that this innocent little boy went through a harshness that he never knew possible? Would you believe me if I said that he went through all the soul-breaking feelings that most people would only have the misfortune of experiencing when they become adults? Would you believe me if I said that this boy would never be the same ever again? Would you, God forbid, believe that this boy grew up before his time?
I was that little boy. My name is Kim Jaejoong, and when I was sixteen years old, I was granted the chance to study at the best conservatory in Korea. I never knew hardship before then; I never had a care in the world. I was gullible, and believed that everything that came my way meant no harm.
You may think that I am exaggerating when I say that I was scarred for life. I mean, it's not as if my life was any worse than others out there. I did not go through the blood and gore of war. I did not get diagnosed with a terminal disease that would leave me with only a few years left to live. I did not get or drugged or killed.
But I tell you what, it was very similar: I was killing myself from the inside. Softly, silently, unknowingly. I now know what human corruptness is, and I know what causes human corruptness. Heck, I even experienced firsthand human corruptness!
However, if it were not for the conservatory, I would not have experienced the beautiful aspects of life. It was there where I met Yunho, my compassionate piano professor, with whom I passionately fell in love for the first time in my life. It was there where I experienced true happiness. It was there where I ultimately knew what I wanted to do with my life.
Most of all, ironically, it was at the conservatory where I learned the true meaning of trust.
Chapter 31: Beautiful story . Also quite inspiring and spreads hope and positivity . No matter what happens in your life , look around ,there's always another opportunity . Learn to accept failure or not doing your best as a normal part of life . Getting up ,acknowledging your situation , smiling in times of adversity , moving forward even when you're not sure where you're going is the secret of getting through life .
I also loved the little anecdotes you blended into your fic , like the one about the hermit crab . :)
Hats off !
I read this story on winglin a few months ago, n this is one of my fave. I love all the metaphors you use here.
And I cried when I read some chapters. This isn't a tragic story but it makes my tears flow.
About the ending, I force myself to believe that Seulgi dies n Yunho comes to Jae because he realizes his feelings toward that ex-student of his. ^o^
Oh, a thing I forgot to mention. I love the vibe words give out. It wasn't exactly modern and peppy, yet not quite that old and aged feeling. If I were to describe the vibe as an image, it would be in autumn, a large tree with rustic-coloured leaves, some fluttering in the breeze on the right. On the left, would be some white steps, where a couple is embracing, the smaller in the lao of the older.The ground is littered with leaves, but patches of green grass showing. That's what I see it (:
Wow. This. Is truly a fascinating story. I read it from 8.30 until 11.30 (Now) and I really loved it. I especially loved the metaphors, the meaning, the life lessons in it. Beautifully written (Although I found a fistful of grammer mistakes. No harm though, still perfectly understandable) The ending was sweet, and I prefer to imagine Yunho still "happily" married, but still holding on to his love for Jaejoong, as Jaejoong had done. And Jaejoong would simply move on as a succesful doctor, always loving Yunho. Excuse my sappy mind.
Question though. You mentioned in your earlier chapters that Jaejoong's piano teacher was called Choi Siwon, and later Heechul's boyfriend was Choi Siwon. Were they the same person? (I freaking hope not O__o) It was insignificant but it attacked my brain like a mofo. :P
In any case, I love it. I'll reread it but now I have to shower as I am a wreck. Then get some sleep. Yeah.
