When the days get shorter, and the darkness is around the corner I want you to hold my hand and guide me to the light again. When the days get colder, and winter is coming again I want you to hold me in your arms. Embrace me so I won’t feel the cold from the outside world. Hug me and make the darkness disappear. In these cold days there is no one around, just me and the bite of the freezing wind hitting my red cheeks. No warmth, no warmth whatsoever. It’s just me, myself and I all alone. Walking alone over these boring streets, I became used to it. Now it’s the scarf that protects me from the howling wind, it’s not your warm hands keeping my cheeks warm or my hands, not anymore. Like a blur I walk over these streets, feeling lifeless without you and nothing makes sense anymore since you left me. I adjust my coat around my neck, because it’s cold. Not only the weather.

Finally reaching my destination, but when I’m about to get out my keys my imagination is playing with my head again. You’re leaning against my door, coated up with a scarf. Red cheeks, red nose, frozen hands. How long have you been standing here? No, wait you’re not here anymore, that’s right, you left me. This is all my imagination, it wouldn’t be the first time though. I ignore the image in front of me, it’s not real. I breathe out and my breath hits the cold wind and leaves a trail of smoke. The key goes in the door and I turn it around. Click. My last step is interrupted with a hand touching my cheek. I freeze on the spot because I have no idea where it came from. My eyes widen at the touch, even tough your hands were freezing that day, they still felt
