Description
She was his light, even in the dark, she captivated him.
Only black images and shadowy outlines existed in Luhan's vision. Others distanced themselves from him because he was different. Naturally, Luhan soon grew tired of the need for acceptance, need for friendship, and need for love. Unexpectedly, a girl entered his vision. Pure as winter snow, she became his light by allowing him to see all that's beautiful in the world through her eyes. For the first time, he felt a need to protect someone.
He was her star, even at night, he fascinated her.
"Yulana, you have to be kind to Luhan," her mother reminded her. So, a friendship began, and somewhere during the course of their childhood, love sneaked in. Unfortunately, before love can blossom, an accidental fire separated them.
Seven years later, fate once again entwined their lives.
Yulana and Luhan meet again as two very different individuals. Luhan, no longer blind, is now an idol of the popular group EXO. Yulana, scarred by accident from seven years ago, is now a writer at SM C&C. As old feelings and memories resurfaced, so does past secrets.
When an accident seems too convenient, one cannot help but wonder what secret is it trying to hide? This is a story of what happens when an obsession is taken too far, and depicts the extreme ends of both human kindess and cruelty.
Foreword
The idea of Luhan being a "star" and Yulana being a "light" came from an old nursery rhyme titled "Star Light, Star Bright."
Half of this story will alternate scenes between the past and the present. Although it may be slow, please bear with me because these chapters will set up the background to the story. Afterwards, the story will move very quickly and that's where the mystery/suspense comes in.
I have always been troubled by the idea of saesaeng fans. This story will discuss this topic, and although it is fictional, gives an idea of the terrible consequences these actions can cause. In order to make the story more realistic, I will incorporate some actual saesaengs' activties, such as, but not limited to Baekhyun's brother's wedding, crazy fan girl who carved Luhan's name into her arm, and the chrysanthemums (flowers for the dead) placed in front of the SM building. The fan fight which happens at the end really did happen in real life. (Rumor said the fight was about the EXO-TTS collobaoration stage on SBS Gayo Daejun).
Jie-jie is the Chinese equivalent of the word 'noona'.
