Snow Angel

Magical Snow Day

Even after they'd entered the cafe, the pleasant aroma of coffee and sweet pastries filling their nostrils, and placed their orders (everyone but Himchan choosing a snack to go along with their drink), they continued to talk about what they were doing for Christmas.

"Are you and your family going back to Busan to visit your family, hyung?" Jongup questioned Daehyun curiously.

Daehyun merely shrugged at Jongup's words, "I'm not - they said they may, but it isn't for certain really. I don't really like traveling during the holidays, it's too much hassle. I'd rather just stay home."

"Said like a true couch potato," Himchan snickered behind his hand.

Daehyun made a face at the other and huffed, "Well, what about you then?"

"Me? My parents are already gone for vacation–something about Hawaii or Bora Bora. I dunno - they're doing the beach Christmas thing though. They're not supposed to be back until after New Year's, so I'm by my lonesome until then," Himchan replied, completely disregarding the fact that he wouldn't be alone - Yongguk would be with him, unless he decided to head off with his family somewhere.

"Am I suddenly the Invisible Man or something?" Yongguk asked with a scoff. He tossed a balled up napkin at Himchan, "You're not by your 'lonesome' because you're stuck with me - Yongnam left for Japan for something his band's doing so our plans of 'twin bonding' were cancelled," He explained, unbothered by the dent in his Christmas plans. He could stay at home and draw or sleep which was fine by him.

"My parents are dead-set on having relatives over this year," Youngjae said with a displeased tone. "The only explanation they gave when I asked why we weren't visiting like we usually do was that they wanted to 'do something different this year'." He made air quotes and scrunched his nose up.

"That doesn't sound so bad, hyung," Jongup said, playing with the straw in his iced frappucino.

"Just trust me when I say that it is very bad." Youngjae made a face and looked at their two maknaes, "So what are you two doing for Christmas?"

Junhong looked up and shrugged some, "Not much really. Dad hasn't had time to decorate and Mom's preparing for another business trip - my house doesn't even look like we're celebrating Christmas this year." He played with his hot chocolate, blowing on it and looking a bit bummed out, even if he really wasn't. His parents didn't have the time to decorate; he wasn't the only teen in Seoul with that problem, probably not even the only one in their neighborhood.

Himchan gave Junhong a sympathetic smile, gently ruffling his hair some.

"If you want to decorate, I think I might have an extra tree in storage somewhere," Yongguk offered, "I could get and bring it over for you."

"Oh! I have plenty of ornaments and lights left over from when mom and dad let me decorate." Jongup said excitedly, bouncing in his seat.

Youngjae raised an eyebrow, "They let you decorate?"

Jongup nodded, smiling proudly, "They have since I first started high school. I decorate the house every year."

Yongguk blinked, "You're the one who decorates your whole house?" He asked, disbelief in his tone.

"Um... yeah... why?" Jongup cocked his head to the side, "Is... is that a bad thing?"

"Well of course not, Jonguppie! Your decorations are beautiful, you're the epitome of the true Christmas spirit," Daehyun boasted, wrapping an arm around Jongup. "Don't listen to Scrooge over there - he probably never got to decorate his house as a child."

Junhong snickered some at Daehyun's words before looking at Yongguk. "If you have a tree, I think I'd like to put it up. I think Dad threw our old one away somewhere..." He glanced over to where Himchan and Youngjae were whispered, "What are you two talking about over there?" He narrowed his eyes.

"Oh nothing, just considering going back to the apartment so I can work on my papers - it's been long enough for me to goof off anyways," Himchan replied.

"It's not really a consideration anymore - he's got a lot more to do than he first told me." Youngjae said, giving Himchan a pointed look, the older simply shrugging in response.

"That ," Jongup said with a pout. "We've only been hanging out for a little while."

"I hardly call spending nearly two hours in the snow a little while." Yongguk said, but he inwardly agreed nonetheless. An hour and a half seemed far too short when you were spending time with friends that you didn't normally get to hang out with very often. He looked at Junhong then, "If you want, you can come with me to my storage building to get that tree. I should have a few decorations to hold you until Jongup can gather up his extras."

"So are we all heading back then?" Jongup questioned, a small smile on his lips as he said it even though they could all tell it was a bit forced.

Daehyun looked between everyone and gave a pout before gently taking Jongup's hand, squeezing it to reassure the younger boy. "Well hey, me and you don't have to head home just yet. We can go and hang out in the snow a little longer annnnnd," He looked around the table, "Maybe tonight I can convince my parents to let everyone come over to watch a movie on that huge TV my parents got a few weeks ago?"

"I'm in," Jongup said almost immediately, squeezing Daehyun's hand with an excited smile on his lips. "I'll bring my video games over too so if we get tired of watching movies, we can play those instead."

"Sure, why not?" Yongguk shrugged, "By the time we get done getting the tree and putting it up at Junhong's, we can go ahead and come over." No one said anything about the fact that the older had just basically implied that he and Junhong would be searching for the tree for a while.

"If I can get Himchan to not procrastinate then you can count us both in as well." Youngjae said, smiling at his friends.

Himchan gave an offended look to Youngjae, but didn't protest his words; instead he turned back to his coffee and sipped at it, just enjoying watching the younger of his friends talk about how much fun their movie night would be later.

Junhong grinned as he finished off his hot chocolate, standing excitedly. "I'm ready to get started with the tree whenever you are hyung..."

The occupants of the table, minus Yongguk, just looked at him with various amounts of amusement, knowing full well why Junhong was in such a hurry to get along with setting the tree up - alone time with his favorite hyung.

Yongguk chuckled and nodded, finishing the last bit of his coffee as well before standing up. "Let's get going then." He and Junhong bid them goodbye before taking their leave out of the cafe.

"I suppose we should be leaving too..." Youngjae murmured, glancing at Himchan in silent questioning if the elder was ready to go or not.

"Okay..." Jongup nodded, still sounding a bit dejected that everyone was leaving even if he did get to spend alone time with Daehyun and they'd be meeting up later to hang out.

Himchan looked at the time and nodded, reluctant to start on his schoolwork; the only highlight would be that he and Youngjae would have his apartment to their selves. He could finally be alone with the boy, just as he'd been wanting for a while. He slowly stood up, followed by Youngjae and they bid farewell to Jongup and Daehyun before braving the cold outside to make their way back to the apartment.

Daehyun smiled at Jongup, not releasing his hand; it felt much, much too nice. "Jonguppie, don't be sad... come on, let's go build a snowman together," He offered.

Jongup nodded slowly and bit his lips as he stared at his and Daehyun's joined hands, reveling in the warm fingers wrapped around his own. He smiled then and finally looked at the older boy, "Okay, Daehyun hyung. Let's go," He said, smile sweet as he squeezed Daehyun's hand before reluctantly removing his hand and standing up, Daehyun following.

"Do you wanna go back to the park or somewhere else to build it?" He questioned as they began pulling back on their coats, mittens and hats.

"I say... let's go to my house. Mom and Dad aren't there right now and my backyard is huge after all - we could build an army of snowmen," Daehyun smiled at Jongup, slipping his hand into the boy's once more before pulling him out into the cold. He huddled close to the younger boy, trying to keep the warmth between them.

"I don't think I've ever built an army of snowmen before - maybe one or two at a time but not enough to call an army." Jongup grinned at the older boy as he squeezed Daehyun's hand. With the hand holding and their closeness, he was more than glad that his flushed cheeks could be blamed on the cold air around them so Daehyun wouldn't be suspicious of the true reason.

"I'm sorry you didn't get to hang out with all of us very long before we separated again, Dae..." He whispered, knowing there was no need to apologize considering their movie night but he felt it needed to be said anyway.

Daehyun chuckled softly and shook his head, "Ah, don't apologize, Jonguppie~" He reached over and poked the boy's cheek gently s they rounded the corner, getting closer to his house. "It's my own fault for being too lazy to get my chores done this morning anyways. We'll get to have some fun tonight - I'm not worried about that. It's not like I'm alone," He gently squeezed Jongup's hand.

"Point taken," Jongup nodded slowly, unable to help himself as he squeezed Daehyun's hand back. He sighed contentedly as they reached the driveway leading to Daehyun's house, journeying up and to the side of the house to go to the backyard. He waited for the older boy to unlock the gate leading to the back, stepping in side once he had and walking further into the backyard.

"You haven't even played in the snow yet?" Jongup questioned in surprise as his eyes trailed over the untouched snow blanketing his friend's yard. Without even waiting for the other's confirmation, he ran forward and jumped, landing front first into the snow.

Daehyun laughed at Jongup's reaction, quickly running and jumping into the snow beside him. When he lifted his head, he spit out snow and grinned at Jongup, turning onto his side to look at Jongup. He reached out and gently brushed some of the boy's hair out of his face.

Jongup smiled softly at Daehyun, feeling his cheeks heat up once more at the gentle touch from the older boy's fingertips. "That was fun..." He whispered, eyes tracing over Daehyun's handsome face. He'd always admired how good-looking the older was, but his handsomeness was just one of many things he liked about him.

"Should we get to working on the snowmen now?" He questioned then, a bit embarrassed as he realized he'd been staring openly at Daehyun.

Daehyun grinned at Jongup and nodded his head before he sat up and pulled Jongup up as well. "Come on, Jonguppie," He stood and helped Jongup out of the snow; then they went around gathering snow together to make snowmen.

He hadn't missed the way Jongup looked at him; he only hoped it meant what he thought it did - now to figure out how to confess.

About thirty minutes and one snowman later, both boys quickly realized that their goal of achieving a snowman army might've been a little too idealistic. This was confirmed when, by the end of their second snowman, they fell to the snow covered ground panting heavily with arms sore from the constant rolling and lifting of the heavy snow.

"I... think... we're only going to be able... to do a snow family..." Jongup said breathlessly, a little put out that they wouldn't be able to accomplish their army but not too much. It had been fun while it lasted. "Are you up for making a snow child, hyung? Oh, we need to get the stuff to decorate them too..."

Daehyun looked over their two snowmen, tapping his chin thoughtfully. He got down onto his knees and began constructing a little snowman to mimic a toddler between the two snowmen. When he was done, he stood back up and smiled at Jongup, pleased with how it looked.

"Hey, let's head in and grab some things to decorate with," He slipped his hand back into Jongup's and led him into the house through the back door.

The second Jongup cold body met with the warmth of Daehyun's house, he felt like he'd been yanked to paradise. He loved the snow, cold, holidays and just in general everything about winter but even he would be the first to admit that after so long being out in the cold, it felt wonderful to be somewhere warm.

Maybe Himchan's parents weren't so wrong about spending Christmas at the beach after all.

"Ah... it feels wonderful in here..." Jongup sighed contentedly, finding a place under one of the little vents in the ceiling and taking solace in the warm air. "I know we have to go back outside and finish the snow family but..." He trailed off, closing his eyes in contentment instead as his cold, soaked skin and clothes were blasted with heat.

Daehyun watched Jongup as he stood at the vent to enjoy the central heating, admiring how handsome he was. He couldn't even remember exactly when he'd started liking Jongup or for what reason, but that was the point of liking someone right? Sometimes it just happened. He approached Jongup and hugged him from behind, sharing the heat with him as he sighed softly.

"How about we grab what we need to so we can finish the snowmen and then we can come in and get warm showers. You can borrow some of my clothes if you want to," Daehyun hummed, tilting his head over Jongup's shoulder to look at him.

Jongup nodded slowly in agreement, feeling as if he was in a bit of daze from the combined heat of the warm air and Daehyun's own body heat. He could honestly fall asleep just like this. He opened his eyes though and looked to the side, cheeks flushing for the millionth time that day as he noticed just how close Daehyun's face was to his own.

"Um... th-that sounds like a good idea, hyung..." He murmured, offering the other a smile despite the blush on his face increasing. "Do... you have carrots for the noses or should we use sticks or something?" He asked, biting his lip because the sudden urge to just throw caution to the wind and kiss Daehyun was becoming incredibly strong.

Daehyun continued to look at Jongup before a wide smile broke out onto his lips and he nodded, "Of course I do. Stay here, I'll go get some things and we can run out and decorate the snowmen real quick okay?" He reluctantly pulled away from Jongup and made his way to the kitchen, his heart thumping wildly in his chest. He had almost done it - he almost kissed Jongup and if he'd just stayed there for a moment longer, he would've.

He grabbed three carrots, two big ones and a smaller one, and then proceeded to grab the jar of black olives his mother insisted on getting for the random times she went all out in her cooking. He'd replace them at a later time if they wound up using them all.

When he returned to Jongup and gently nudged his side, "Come on, Jonguppie - I've got some things to use!"

"Okay!" Jongup replied, lingering under the heat for a couple of seconds longer before finally moving and following Daehyun outside. As they made their way over to their snowy masterpieces, he couldn't help but think about what had happened only moments ago. How close Daehyun had been to him, how he'd just stared at him - his heart was still skipping beats.

He and Daehyun had been friends for a long time, but it wasn't just recently that he'd begun feeling this way about the boy from Busan. No, he'd liked Jung Daehyun for a long time and the feelings had only grown stronger with every day passing. He craved being around Daehyun but at the same time, he didn't want to be around him for fear he'd let slip his like for him and ruin their friendship. Liking him in silence sounded less painful than losing him altogether.

"I'll get the sticks, hyung. They need their arms to hug one another, you know." Jongup grinned, heading off in search of the sticks while Daehyun took over making their faces. "Don't eat their faces!" He called behind himself to the other.

"I'll try!" Daehyun replied playfully, his thoughts going back to when he'd hugged Jongup; his insides flip-flopping around as nervousness set in. Today was the day, he couldn't back down this time; he wanted to be with Jongup, he needed him to know how he felt. If he didn't tell him soon, he'd burst and he didn't want to take his bad mood out on anyone - no one deserved that.

While Jongup went around finding perfect sticks for arms, Daehyun quickly set to work on making something, using the olives to write out something quite appropriate and then drawing a little picture to go with the words before dashing off to hide.

After just a few minutes of searching, Jongup returned to the snow family with his arms laden with several sticks of differing sizes. He immediately noticed that Daehyun was nowhere in sight but chalked it up to the other boy having to run back inside for something or other - judging from the lack of smiles on the snow family's faces, it was probably to find something to replace the olives. So he set to work on carefully sticking the arms into the middle ball of snow on each snowperson.

A couple of minutes later and he was done, but now he was extremely worried because Daehyun had yet to return.

"Hyung?!" Jongup called, looking this way and that to see if Daehyun was just outside searching for rocks instead of household items for the snow family. It was then his eyes caught sight of something odd in the snow and upon further inspection of it, his mouth dropped open.

Be my snow angel? was written in the snow not too far away from the snow family (he felt stupid for just now noticing it) and right up under it was a picture of a little stick figure angel. It didn't take a genius to figure out who had written that and he felt his heart skip several beats in his chest, hope that this meant what he thought it did and not just his friend's idea of a joke rising inside of him.

"D-Daehyun hyung?!" Jongup tried calling again, looking around the backyard for the other boy before running inside. "Daehyun?! Where are you?"

Daehyun felt bad for hiding, but he had to know Jongup's reaction before he dared to come out of his hiding spot. However, he didn't intend for Jongup to run inside to look for him and he slapped his forehead, "Omo, I should've thought of that." He knew he shouldn't have just stood by and watched Jongup's eyes light up, but he looked so beautiful like that, Daehyun had been too mesmerized.

"Jonguppie! I'm out here, Jonguppie!" Daehyun called, standing by the snow family. He smiled gently as he waited for Jongup to come back outside.

Jongup immediately paused in his trek up the stairs in search of Daehyun at said boy's voice, feelings incredibly stupid once again because he hadn't searched thoroughly enough outside for the older boy. He his heel and headed back outside, running towards where Daehyun stood and barreling into him before he could properly stop himself, knocking him off of his feet and sending them both to the ground.

He sat up after only a few moments, panting heavily as he stared down at Daehyun and pointed at the picture and question. "Do you mean it?" Jongup questioned, eyes searching the older boy's face. "You're not joking, right?"

Daehyun panted softly, still catching his breath from being knocked over by the excited boy. He followed his hand to the little drawing before looking back at him, nodding his head, "I would never joke about something like that..." He sat up, completely ignoring the fact that Jongup was practically sitting in his lap now (cause if he didn't, he'd have a bit of a problem).

"I want you to be mine, Jonguppie... I've had feelings for you for a long time now," He whispered, cupping Jongup's cheeks and pulling him in for a gentle kiss.

Jongup's eyes shut instantly as Daehyun's soft, thick lips pressed against his own, a feeling akin to melting overcoming him as he kissed the other boy back. He felt as if he would just burst from happiness from the knowledge that his friend and longtime crush liked him back, and had for a while apparently, and that they could be together now.

No longer would he have to sit next to Daehyun and wonder if the older boy shared his feelings or if they would forever be friends. No more having to hide his red face for fear Daehyun would find out about how he felt and hate him for it. No more...

They parted after a few moments and Jongup was quick to hug Daehyun again, face burying into the elder's neck as he sighed happily.

Daehyun held Jongup to him, curling his fingers into the back of Jongup's jacket as though grounding himself in his dream. He couldn't believe this was real, things like this only ever happened in his best dreams. Daehyun was never a lucky person, if anything, he was very unlucky - and he was praying that when he pulled away from Jongup to lead them both inside where it was warmer, that this wouldn't all fade out like it never happened and he would wake up with Jongup staring down at him worriedly.

Slowly, hands shaking from his nerves, Daehyun pulled away from Jongup and looked into his eyes uncertainly. When he saw Jongup's warm smile and bright eyes, he grinned happily and kissed the boy again.

Jongup's smile widened as Daehyun kissed him again, letting his arms wrap around the older boy's neck and quickly kissing him back. It occurred to him suddenly, with the help of how Daehyun had looked at him just moments before, that the other boy had been just as anxious as he was about the possibility of this being some cruel joke. He hadn't been the only one agonizing over his feelings before now.

'We don't have to about it anymore though...' Jongup thought as he and Daehyun pulled apart once more, his smile growing so wide that even he felt his cheeks beginning to hurt. He shivered then and was suddenly reminded of just how cold he was. "We should go inside..." He murmured, simply watching Daehyun.

Daehyun shivered as if on cue and nodded, "Yeah - I seem to remember promising you a warm shower." He chuckled as Jongup got up and extended a hand to help him, which he graciously accepted. As soon as he stood up, he realized how wet his clothes were and let out a soft 'brrr', rubbing at his where his jeans were beginning to soak through.

He took Jongup's hand and quickly led him into the house, quickly tugging off his jacket, beanie and mittens. "Whew - come on, you can use the bathroom upstairs and I'll get some clothes laid out for you," He pecked Jongup's lips, the happy smile never fading from his face as he pulled him up the stairs to his bedroom.

Once upstairs, Jongup immediately headed to the bathroom to take his shower while Daehyun went to his room to find him some clothes. He closed the door and removed his jacket, mittens and scarf, venturing over to the tub and turning the shower on. He waited to make sure the water was a nice, warm temperature before stepping away and removing his very wet clothes, shivering as his damp, skin met with the not yet warm air of the bathroom.

With no further incentive needed, Jongup climbed into the shower, a contented hum immediately leaving him as heavenly warm water poured over him and slowly drove away the cold.

Meanwhile Daehyun was in the bedroom, picking out some clothes for Jongup and then for himself so he could get a warm shower after the other. When the clothes were laid out on the end of his bed in a neat way, he sat down on the edge of his bed and looked at the picture frames filled with all the memories of his friends, from their first picture as a group to commemorate Daehyun's graduation up until just a few weeks ago when they'd helped out at a local orphanage together (something Yongguk had requested of all of them).

He smiled fondly as he picked up his favorite picture of them, one from two summers ago when Jongup dyed his hair a magenta hue and they'd all gone camping for a week together. It had taken a lot of convincing for Junhong's parents due to him being the youngest, but they were easily swayed when they learned someone as responsible as Yongguk was going.

A chuckle left him as he remembered how Junhong and Youngjae had woken up to leeches on their feet one morning and had promptly freaked out enough that Himchan had thrown a hissy fit and threatened to murder Yongguk if he didn't switch tents with him (as he'd been sharing with Junhong and Youngjae and had barely dodged getting a leech on himself).

Jongup sighed contentedly as he turned off the water and climbed out of the shower, feeling not only warm but clean as well because he'd made use of the soap and shampoo on the small shelf. He really couldn't help himself after finding out that it was the very scent that had become Daehyun's signature and he knew the other boy wouldn't mind anyway.

After grabbing a towel, he began to dry himself off and promptly paused when he noticed the lack of clothes sitting on the bathroom counter. He bit his lip, contemplating briefly whether or not he should call for the other boy or just go get the clothes himself. He finally decided on the latter and wrapped the towel around his waist, journeying outside of the bathroom back to Daehyun's room.

He peeked inside of the other's room, unable to keep himself from smiling when he saw Daehyun smiling as he stared at a picture he recognized all too well, the memories of that adventure flooding into his mind. His eyes trailed away from the picture when he remembered what he'd come for and they landed on the clothes sitting behind Daehyun. He carefully snuck into the older boy's room and over to the bed, fully intending to get the clothes and slip out without disturbing Daehyun's walk down memory lane.

Daehyun wasn't sure what snapped him out of his reverie, but he was certain it was the strong scent of his shampoo that invaded his nostrils and made him turn on a whim only to be greeted by a very wet and very (save for the towel hanging precariously from his hips) Jongup. Heat rose to his cheeks immediately and he turned away from Jongup, coughing to cover up the fact that he'd seen Jongup in such a state.

"Ah, sorry, Jonguppie - I intended to bring them in to you and uh, I... how about you dress in here and I'll go ahead and get my shower?" He gazed in the general direction of Jongup, but kept himself from looking right at the very embarrassed boy.

A bright red Jongup slowly nodded to the question, fidgeting awkwardly as he tightened his towel around his waist because the last thing either of them needed right now was for the fabric to fall. "T-that sounds fine, hyung... go ahead..." He murmured then, gesturing to Daehyun's clothes. "Don't forget your clothes..." He smiled, trying to be joking but knowing he'd failed horribly.

Daehyun grabbed his clothes and quickly dashed to the bathroom in the hallway. "Aish..." He groaned softly as soon as the door was closed behind him. His heart thudded inside of his chest and his body was warm in more than one way. "Dammit... stupid hormones –bad Daehyun, bad," He shook his head wildly before stripping down and jumping into the shower, switching it to a cooler setting to calm his tingling skin.

The very last thing he wanted to do was for his hormones to take over and to take it too far with Jongup. He didn't want their relationship to start off with something physical - not into something so serious like that anyways.

When he was done scrubbing away that warm tingle just under the top layer of his skin, he got out and dried off, glad to be met with the warm air from the vent by the sink. He dressed into the sweatpants and sweater he'd chosen, slowly making his way back into his room, hoping it wasn't awkward between them now.

Jongup, now dressed in the long sleeved shirt and jeans Daehyun had found for him, looked up when the older boy walked in, that awkwardness from before returning full-force. He dropped his gaze immediately, a bright blush on his cheeks as he gently patted the spot on the bed next to him so Daehyun would know he wouldn't mind the other sitting next to him.

"Um... so how was your shower, hyung?" He questioned after a moment, gently chewing his bottom lip as he glanced at Daehyun.

As soon as Daehyun was seated, he slipped his hand into Jongup's, determined to get past the momentary awkwardness; there was nothing wrong with what happened, they were both still boys and had the same parts (except that Daehyun wanted desperately to kiss every inch of Jongup's skin and worship the sounds he made).

"It was good, Jonguppie," He replied softly, turning to face Jongup, unsure if he should lean in a kiss him at first, but he threw out the hesitation and went for it. He leaned closer to Jongup and kissed his lips gently, cupping his cheek to prevent him from turning away in shyness.

Jongup felt himself kissing back instantly, still feeling more than a little embarrassed that Daehyun had practically seen him . Then again, the older boy had seen him in his swim trunks before and he hadn't been embarrassed then so he shouldn't be about this now, right? And they were boyfriends too so... things like this were bound to happen sooner or later.

With these thoughts in mind, Jongup scooted closer to Daehyun and pressed his lips against the other's just a bit more, sighing softly into the liplock.

Daehyun was glad when Jongup finally relaxed against him, even moving closer and kissing him just that much harder. He tilted his head and kissed the boy for all he was worth, winding his arms around Jongup's waist and holding him close as the need for air slowly drew them apart, but only by mere centimeters, their noses brushed as Daehyun looking into Jongup's eyes.

While they were in such close proximity, Jongup more than happily took advantage of being able to let his eyes roam over Daehyun's face, having never gotten a decent opportunity before because he hadn't wanted to seem weird. They may have been close but friends didn't just openly stare at their friends - only couples and lovers did that. Now though, he looked at Daehyun freely, taking in just how handsome the older boy truly was.

"How long, Daehyun?" He whispered suddenly, eyes meeting Daehyun's now that he'd quelled his urge to just look at him.

"'How... long'?" He echoed, his brain finally catching up after a moment and he gave a soft smile. "Since before our camping trip..." He replied softly, searching Jongup's eyes and over his face, just admiring how soft his skin looked and the way his lips were a darker pink from their kissing.

"B-before... the camping trip...?" Jongup repeated, voice just as soft as Daehyun's as his eyes widened in surprise. "Like... the camping trip we had two years ago camping trip?" He questioned, frowning heavily as he fell silent, trying to let the information sink in and failing miserably. If Daehyun had liked him for that long then why hadn't he noticed it before now - why hadn't the other said anything?

The latter question he immediately got an answer for as it was the same reason he himself hadn't said anything before now - fear of rejection and ruining their friendship. But still... he should've at least noticed something...

"I... um... I..." He tried but he was really at a loss for what to say. "I... I'm sorry Dae..." He whispered finally, biting his lip, "I'm... sorry I didn't notice... we could've saved ourselves a lot of time..." He murmured, tone rather bitter.

Daehyun's heart dropped seeing how upset Jongup was over this. "No... No, no, no Jongup, no..." He whispered softly, cupping Jongup's cheeks, kissing his lips gently before pulling away to shake his head. "I don't want you to feel bad about not realizing it before..." He paused, letting that sink in for a moment before he continued.

"I don't regret waiting to tell you my feelings because now I can say without any hesitance and with total honesty that I love you, Jongup. I waited for so long, not just because I was scared of rejection but, what if we got together then and weren't together now?" He took a moment to take a breath, continuing on once more.

"I wanted to know for sure - I needed to know for myself first... and I'm not saying we're going to have a perfect relationship, I know we'll fight - if we don't, it's not healthy. But... I want everything there is to being with you Jongup, the ups and downs and loops and zigzags..."

"Is my constant spacing out included in the package too?" Jongup questioned, a joking tone to his voice even as his eyes began wavering with unshed tears because Daehyun was becoming more amazing to him than he'd already been. The older boy had been so thoughtful about what would've happened had he confessed two years ago as opposed to waiting until now.

And he was completely right too, just because they may have gotten together then didn't mean they'd be together now. He'd only been sixteen at the time and socially awkward and Daehyun had been eighteen and a natural people magnet that brought both jealous fanboys and fangirls. They'd been on opposite sides on nearly every spectrum from social to interests and he himself had just been coming to terms with being gay on top of it all. Combine all of that with school pressures and the already shaky track record of high school romances and the outcome might not have been a good one.

He sniffed softly then, biting his lip as his fingers caressed the hands still cupping his face. "I-I still hate... that we lost two years... but you're right and... all that matters is the now anyway, right?" He questioned, blinking rapidly to force back his tears only to cause them to slip down his cheeks anyway. "I-I love you, Daehyun... it was worth it waiting... you were worth waiting for..."

Daehyun chuckled softly as he nodded to Jongup's words, wiping at the tears on the boy's face before leaning in and kissing his lips gently. "I love you, Jonguppie," He whispered again, gently laying back on the bed, pulling Jongup with him. He wrapped his arms around Jongup and kissed his lips over and over, his fingers now running through the boy's damp hair. He bumped his forehead to Jongup's and grinned happily, a finger down Jongup's cheek.

"We'll make up for those two years, Jonguppie."

"We will." Jongup nodded in agreement, a bright and happy smile making its way onto his own face. He cuddled closer to Daehyun, partly seeking out the other boy's warmth but mostly just wanting to be as close as possible to him. "I love you, Dae..." He whispered softly as he looked into Daehyun's eyes, his heart skipping a beat as he said it just like it had before.

He leaned forward then and gently brushed his lips against Daehyun's before pressing his face into the older boy's neck. "I used your shampoo in the shower..." He mumbled, already having a feeling that Daehyun knew this but he wanted to say it anyway.

Daehyun snorted softly, nudging his nose into the hair at the nape of Jongup's neck and inhaling contentedly. "I don't care - it smells better on you anyways," He murmured, his fingers up and down the middle of Jongup's back, keeping him close.

He smiled against Jongup's skin, admiring the smell of the ocean scented shampoo mixed in with Jongup's own unique scent, something that could only ever be Jongup's; he couldn't place a finger on any scent that was similar, but it was quickly becoming his favorite.

Jongup grinned at the response, a shiver running down his spine as he felt Daehyun's warm breath fan out over his neck and he wondered when the skin there had suddenly become so sensitive.

"Really? I think it smells better on you. I only used it because of you - I took a shower last night..." He admitted sheepishly as he let his own fingers trace random patterns on his boyfriend's back.

"Oh? Me?" He smiled teasingly, pulling away to peck Jongup's soft lips, his fingers tracing circles over each bump of Jongup's spine.

"Wanna know a secret?" He whispered softly, grinning when Jongup blinked curiously, "I bought ocean scented shampoo because I know how much you love the ocean and how much you've wanted to go to Busan. I want to take you to my hometown someday, Jonguppie... you'll love it."

"You will? Really?" Jongup questioned excitedly, wonder in his eyes. When Daehyun nodded, he smiled widely and pressed several chaste kisses to the other boy's lips before hugging him tightly. "Thanks, Dae... you don't know how much that means to me to hear you say that..." He said softly as he kissed his boyfriend's lips again only this time he lingered and moved his lips slowly against Daehyun's.

With a soft hum, Daehyun's eyes slipped close and he kissed Jongup back, moving his lips gently. He cupped Jongup's cheek, his thumb over the warm skin as he gently nipped the boy's bottom lip, delighted in the soft mumble he felt more than heard from the younger boy.

Jongup mumbled something again, the words unintelligible even to himself, as he kissed Daehyun back just a little bit harder. He carefully nipped at the elder's thick bottom lip, feeling a bit awkward as he did it but not worrying too much because it was something he'd only ever dreamed about before. All of this, being with Daehyun and kissing and touching him, had only ever happened in his dreams.

"I think I love snow days even more now than I did before..." Jongup muttered through ragged breaths when they parted a few seconds later, his eyes almost disappearing as he grinned widely at Daehyun.

"I think I do too, Jonguppie," Daehyun replied, grinning back. He pulled his boyfriend flush against his body, not caring that the closeness was not helping his hormones - he wanted to feel as much of Jongup as he could. He closed his eyes, kissing Jongup slowly, lazily, dragging his lips along Jongup's before he decided to experiment and cautiously kissed the boy's jaw, moving a bit lower to just below his ear, pressing a chaste kiss there.

Jongup bit his lips at Daehyun's wandering kisses, a sharp shiver racing down his spine that wasn't from the cold. He knew this because he was growing incredibly warm all over the longer he stayed pressed up against Daehyun's body and continued kissing him. He knew they'd need to stop eventually lest they grow incredibly uncomfortable in certain places on their bodies but even this knowledge wasn't enough incentive to pull away. Not yet.

"D-Daehyunnie..." Jongup sighed breathily when the older pressed another kiss to the now very sensitive spot underneath his ear. He buried his face into Daehyun's neck and pressed his lips to the warm flesh there, fingers twining slowly into his boyfriend's sweater.

Daehyun never thought his neck was sensitive before, he always assumed that was more of a girl thing, but then he felt Jongup's lips kissing his neck and he let out a rather embarrassingly shaky moan. His hormones were flaring up again, but he couldn't stop himself, not like this. Instead he continued on, gently rolling over on top of Jongup and kissing further down his neck, propping himself up on one hand while the other rested at the younger boy's waist.

Jongup blushed furiously as Daehyun hovered over but before he could think more on how suggestive the position was, the elder's lips were on his neck and all thought left him except what Daehyun was doing and how great it felt having the other boy's weight pressing him down.

"A-ah... Daehyun..." He moaned softly, biting his lips as he turned his head to the side automatically to give him better access to his sensitive flesh. His hands tingled for something to do and he lifted them, letting his fingers roam all over Daehyun's upper body, paying special attention the hardened muscles in his abdomen that the other was always so self-conscious of because they weren't as prominent as other guys.

Daehyun was surprised at himself for being so bold, but Jongup was responding, he wasn't pushing away, which is what he initially feared. He didn't want to move too fast and scare Jongup off - but if the boy was enjoying the kissing and touching as it was, who was he to deny them both that little bit of pleasure?

He cautiously parted his lips over one of the prominent bumps of Jongup's collarbone, gently nipping the flesh before ling on it, intending to leave a red mark behind.

"Dae!" Jongup gasped softly, the gentle nipping and causing more of that pleasant warmth to spread all throughout his body. It was amazing how places he'd never thought to be sensitive before were now under Daehyun's wonderful mouth. If he wasn't sure he'd completely mortify himself for thinking it, he'd let himself wonder about what his boyfriend's mouth would feel like on every inch of his body.

'Moon Jongup, you pabo...' He scolded himself, having unintentionally thought of it anyway. He forced the thoughts back as best as he could though, focusing instead on the slightly painful pressure from Daehyun's continuous and his own fingers as they carefully touched the bit of skin being revealed from Daehyun's shirt having hiked up slightly.

Daehyun smirked against Jongup's collarbone, gently over the red spot in apology for being so rough before he moved back up and kissed the boy softly, caressing his cheek. He didn't kiss him for long, instead pulling away to give Jongup a soft smile, and then nuzzling into his neck, hugging him tight and arching his back just a bit to feel Jongup's soft, but cool fingers on his back. "Jongup," He sighed softly.

Jongup couldn't help but smile at the sigh and movement, his fingers sliding upwards a little more so they could dance along Daehyun's spine. "I love you, Dae..." He whispered, burying his face into the other boy's neck where he began pressing kisses to the smooth flesh. He wanted to give Daehyun a mark too but found he needed to work up the nerve first.

Daehyun closed his eyes, giving into the kisses on his neck and cold fingertips on his back. He rested his head on Jongup's shoulder, letting him have control while he whispered against the fabric of his borrowed shirt. "Jongup-ah, I love you," He smiled, fingers down his sides as he hummed softly against Jongup's shoulder.

Jongup smiled brightly and nuzzled affectionately against Daehyun's neck, the older's relaxed state spurring him on more. He continued to press his lips here and there along Daehyun's neck before finally pausing at the joint where neck met his shoulder. He hesitated just briefly and then parted his lips so he could le and nip the flesh, fingers lightly digging into Daehyun's back as he continued to make a red mark on the other's skin.

The lips on Daehyun's neck were driving him crazy, he almost lost himself enough for his arm to buckle underneath him which would send him down to lay completely on top of Jongup (and that was definitely not a good idea right now). But the sensation of Jongup's warm lips kissing his sensitive neck and then the teeth and tongue had to join in. It was almost exactly how several of his dreams had begun and he struggled to keep himself in check.

"Gup-ah..." Daehyun whispered breathily into Jongup's shoulder, his fingers sliding up underneath the shirt at Jongup's sides, caressing the warm skin slowly.

Jongup gasped softly when he felt Daehyun's fingers touching his sides, the contrasting cool to warm causing him to shudder in the most pleasant of ways. "Dae..." He sighed, giving the now reddened spot on Daehyun's neck another affectionate nip before finally pulling away from it. He turned his head to the side, lips seeking Daehyun's as he slowly raked his blunt nails down the elder's back, wondering how he would react to the sensation.

Daehyun groaned softly, kissing Jongup's lips firmly before pulling away and chewing on the inside of his cheek. "Jongup-ah," He whispered, cupping the boy's cheek and tilting his head before he leaned back in and kissed him passionately, teeth and tongue teasing his bottom lip. He was sure they should soon stop what they were doing, but he had control of himself and he enjoyed the noises and reactions Jongup gave him to just quit now.

Jongup moaned softly, tilting his head as he kissed Daehyun back with as much vigor as the older boy was kissing him with. He parted his lips slowly for the other in silent invitation for their kiss to be made deeper than it already was, his arms tightening around Daehyun and pulling him closer to himself. He could feel himself growing dizzy from everything they were doing, but it was such a wonderful sensation that he didn't want it to stop.

As Daehyun kissed him deeper, their tongues swirling together, he lowered himself just slightly onto the boy beneath him, his breath hitching pleasantly. His hands pulled Jongup's from around him and twined their fingers together, pinning their locked fingers to the bed on either side of Jongup's head. When he pulled away, Daehyun panted softly and pressed soft kisses to Jongup's lips and cheeks, calming him down from their heated kiss.

Jongup's eyes closed in happy bliss from the kisses as he took in large gulps of air to fill his deprived lungs. A soft smile curled his lips upwards from the light, tickling sensation of Daehyun's lips and he was unable to keep a small laugh from escaping him. "Tickles..." He mumbled, pressing his lips to the older boy's when he got a chance, fingers squeezing Daehyun's sweetly.

"I love you, Daehyun..." He whispered then, eyes opening finally to look up at his boyfriend.

Daehyun's lips curled into a grin and he placed a chaste kiss to Jongup's lips, whispering against them, "I love you too." He slowly pulled away from Jongup to lay beside him, curling his slightly larger body against Jongup, just holding him close. "I think," Daehyun murmured after a long, comfortable silence, "Today is one of the best days of my life..." His a hand down Jongup's back.

"Just 'think'?" Jongup questioned teasingly, grinning against Daehyun's neck. He leaned his head away slightly to look at the older then, hand lifting to gently caress the older boy's cheek. "Today's been one of the best days of my life too, Dae... it was definitely worth waiting for..." He whispered happily as he pecked Daehyun on the lips.

Daehyun chuckled softly at Jongup's words, nodding his head in agreement. "I say 'think' because there was one other day that qualifies as being one of the best days of my life..." He watched as Jongup looked at him curiously before he continued, "When I first met you." He smiled happily and kissed Jongup's lips gently, caressing his cheek.

"Come on, Guppie," Daehyun hummed, "Let's go start on the video games until the others come over." He slowly stood from the bed, pulling his boyfriend with him.

Chapter 5: Wow it's over... I am both happy and sad and still wondering how that could be. Seriously though, I just. Wijsjdnencod himjae oh my god that was just beautiful I don't even know anymore sobs. Like when Youngjae started to doubt Himchan I may or may not have been screaming at him and saying that he was the dumbest genius ever coughs okay. Himchan may be overly touchy-feely, but he's only a for you, Youngjae. Oh, and yes I'm sure Himchan physically whines about Youngjae non-stop. The last chapter was just a perfect little bow for this wonderful story ;u; Although, it is a little odd that Daehyun chose a horror movie at Christmastime, but what can you do? That's Daehyun I guess haha. And he has a hickey from Jongup omg they are the most innocent in this story and of all time. But if I were Daehyun, I probably wouldn't have gone all the way either because I'd be afraid of everyone walking in on us lmao could you imagine all of the teasing they would have gotten?? That would have been great omfg. Anyway, I'm sad that this is over, but I'm happy because it was so perfect. I kind of want a sequel but I also don't want to over complicate the beautiful simplicity of this. You and your sister are just... Whdnkckd. To be honest I would die if my sister knew I wrote so uh-- Okay before I start rambling even more useless nonsense, thank you for the wonderful story, and Merry Christmas!! <333
