Chapter 1 : The Coming of A New Neighbor

Suzy knocked the table with her fingers as she staring at her pink cellphone impatiently. She was waiting the small pink thing that layed in front of her eyes to ring, or at least blinking some lights, indicating an incoming call or text message.

She sighed and crossed her arms, "Yah! Ring!" a small shout came up from , "Really... who do you think you are? Not giving me any news for almost a week!"

"Calm down Suzy-ah..." A small soothing voice greeted her from her back. It was IU's voice, Suzy's friend that worked on the cafe. Suzy promised to accompany her looking for a birthday gift for her boyfriend, Wooyoung. Suzy has to wait for IU until her work shift done though, but since the cafe is one of her favourite hang out spot, it was a pleasure waiting there as well drinking some hot chocochino.

But not for today. She wasn't in her mood today.

"Waiting for a phone call, hm?" IU sat down in the chair in front of Suzy. She brought a medium cup of capuccino with her.

"Nothing much..." Suzy shook her head, avoiding IU's stare.

"Eeeyy! Don't lie! I can tell from your face Suzy-ah..." IU let out a small chuckle. "Taecyeon-sshi?"

Suzy couldn't help but nodded awkwardly, blushing and sighed as her anxiousness being caught by the girl.

"He hasn't called for almost a week already and I don't have any idea why is he like this."

"Maybe he's busy, and doesn't have that much time to call. Don't stress yourself out." IU gave her a warm smile.

Suzy gave a small nod, "Yeah, maybe you're right."

No. There must be something wrong with him. And she couldn't get the damn worry out from her head.

Suzy and Taecyeon are bestfriends, or that was how they called their relationship. In fact, they're much closer in various ways than a bestfriend. No, not in the lovers state, but more like brother and sister relationship. At least, that's what Suzy felt.

They were raised and grew up together. Their parents are old friends and so, they became close even since they were children. Taecyeon has always taken care of Suzy and treated her really nicely, and the girl always cared for the boy, worrying about him, and always depending on him. That way, they became comfortable with each other.

When Suzy's father passed away from an accident when she was 13, Taecyeon's family taken care of her and her mother. They even helped her mother paying Suzy's school fees. Good thing that Suzy is a smart and independent girl. She got a scholarship from her High School because of her scores and achievemets. She always worked hard because she didn't want to be a burden for her mother and Taecyeon's family anymore. And so, since she graduated from High School and entered College, she moved out from her mother's house to an apartment complex in the town.

Taecyeon often visited her and they often hang out together. Just like before, their relationship is just as good as before.

Knowing a person for almost her whole lifetime, Suzy knew that Taecyeon isn't the type that let her suffering from agony and worry because of his being. That's why, she almost sure that the boy must be in some urgent state that didn't let him giving any news to Suzy.

"Come on girl, instead of keeping that ed up face, why don't we just go having some fresh air, shall we?"

Suzy nodded a little, responding the girl's effort to cheer her up. "Yeah. I guess there's nothing i could do right? He will just fine anyways right?" Suzy talked, more like to herself. She turned her face, glancing at IU and smiled, "Well, let's go then."

IU gave a small giggle, grabbed the taller girl's hand and they walked out from the cafe.

Suzy walked towards the stairs. She felt really tired after accompanied IU wandering around the shopping center. That girl sure was picky-picky. It was really hard searching for a thing that she would be satisfied about. But finally they found a cute basketball field miniature, with the players and all. IU was literally jumping when she saw it and said tha Wooyoung will totally love it since he's a basketball athlete in her college.

Well, but it was fun. And seeing that girl's happy face really lifted her mood up. It was always a pleasure helping people.

She moved her neck and climbed up the stairs. Her apartment wasn't very extravagant since she was looking for the one with cheap price. But it wasn't that bad, the landlord was a very nice old man and she got a really nice room at the top floor.

"Ah! Is that Suzy-ah?" She could hear an old man's voice from her bottom.

She turned her body and looked downstairs. She was right, it was the lanlord, Jisook ahjusshi. "Annyeonghaseyo ahjusshi!" She greeted the old man and smiled. Suzy stepped down the stairs and spproached the landlord.

"Is there anything wrong, ahjusshi?"

The old man shook his head, "Ani. I just want to tell you that we've got a new neighbor."

She widened her eyes, "Got a new neighbor... you mean there's somebody that moved here?"

"Ye." The old man smiled, "And he occupies the apartment next to yours. Room 103."

"For real?!" She shouted happily. "Next to my room?"

"Ne. Now, now you should go up already it's already late. Oh, and don't forget to help our new neighbor."

She nodded her head cheerfully and gave him a big smile. "Sure! Goodnight ahjusshi!" Suzy run and climbed up the stairs to the top floor. She was really happy. The top floor only has 3 rooms and since 5 months ago, she was living alone there after her only neighbor in that floor bought a house and moved out. To have a new neighbor was such a long awaited event for her.

She reached the top floor, panting hardly and running out of oxygen. She breathed in and out, arranging her breath. She walked slowly approaching the room no. 103. Right, she wanted to know what kind of person her new neighbor is. But... she stopped walking, hesitant. It was already very late night, maybe she will only disturbing him...

Ah, she was just gonna say hello and greet the new person. There's nothing wrong with that is there?

Right, it was just a greeting. A greeting wouldn't hurt. She took bigger steps towards the room and cleared . She took a deep breath and lifted her hand. And there she was. She knocked the door softly.

Knock Knock

There wasn't any answer.

She knocked again.  This time a little bit harder.

Knock Knock

No answer.Is the person out maybe?

She knocked for the last time, more harder than before. “Excuse me?”  she shouted.

Suddenly the door swung open. Suzy jumped of shockness. “Yah! You know what time is this?!” a husky man voice yelled at her.

There was a man standing in front of Suzy, looks like slightly older than her. Maybe a year or two. He was stunningly good looking with about more than 180 cm tall, skinny body but what amaze her was the fact that his abs and muscles were slightly shown under his shirt. His hair was cut short but stylishly and was a little bit messy at that moment, looks like he just got up from bed.  His face looks angry but Suzy couldn’t help but think that it was really cute.

“A-Annyeonghaseyo…” She talked softly, still in a shocked state, “I-I’m Bae Suzy… I live beside your room.” She ventured a warm smile.

The man wasn’t showing any reactions.

“err… you know, it was nice having a new neighbor. And, you just can ask me if there’s anything you’re…”

“Ya, miss sushi! the only thing I need now is ing rest okay? Now, would you just please get away from my room door and go back to wherever you’ve been? Good-night.”  He pronounced the last word into two syllables and slammed the door shut in front of her very face.

And Suzy was frozen in her place.

What the hell?
