Chappie 2
I sit on my seat, alone. Focusing on the books, let’s make it simple, as usual, I am preparing for the exam. Done!
I turn to next page, 2 seconds later, someone took my book, and, as expected, it was Chanyeol. I’ve already know him for two months. And he really is popular with that cute smile and his personality. Every girls in this school will be crazy when he smiled. And, it’s hard to admit it, but .. yea, he is hot.
“Hey, wanna get some bubble tea after school? My treat!” Chanyeol sat on desk while reading the title of the book that I was reading just now.
“I’m busy. Yah, give me back my book.” Chanyeol put his hand up high while laughing at the jumping me that is trying to get the book back. I am busy. I have to study after school hours because I don’t have much time to study like before.
I have to work on my own. At night, I got to work as the waitress and as a tutor to my boss’ son since I am the top student in my school. And I got no choice. My brother died in a car crash, my mother left me because of the disease, everybody left me.
I got home at 11 p.m. every day , and it makes me feels really tired. Sometimes, I forget about my eating schedule. I only eat when I’m hungry. My routine is really full. No time to take care of myself.
“Nop, iwill not give you this book. Unless, you agree with me.” Chanyeol hide the book behind his back.
I let out a sigh and shook my head a little, looking about Chanyeol’s childish behaviour. I took out another book from my desk. Don’t be surprise, yea, I got a lot of books under my desk. That’s why the call me a nerd.
“Ou, come on, Amber. Let’s go. For this innocent boy? Please? For me?” Chanyeol make his bubbly face while looking at me, waiting for my answer. Yah, this guy really knows how to make people feel guilty.
“Yea, okay, okay. Stop doing that face. It makes me wanna punch your face.” I continue my reading without even looking at him.
“Yeay! Thank you! I love you, bro.” Chanyeol put the book on my desk and run outside the class. I shook my head as I watch him running. This guy, with that personality, and face. How can people call him the manly man? He is a child. Look at his personality, that is childish! But that personality also make my heart happier.
I continued my reading. Then, someone sat on my desk.
“Hey, how are you, nerd? Look at you. Still trying to get an attention from the hotties, don’t you? Before, your prey is Kris, now, you got that Chanyeol as your prey. You sure got so many games, don’t you?” That’s Jessica. She took the book on my desk while looking at the book through pages.
I kept on reading without looking even a glance at her, trying to ignore her.
“Yah! You dare to ignore me, don’t you?!” Jessica rose up her voice then everyone were looking at us. She pushed me until I fell on the ground. I stood up and wiped the dust from my shirt. I looked down on the floor, not dare to make any eye contact with her.
Suddenly, I can see Chanyeol came with the two chocolate bars in his hand. He walked toward us while smiling at us. Slowly, he looked at me and lift up my chin with that smile plastered on his face.
Then, slowly, he looked at Jessica who was standing beside me. Everyone was looking at us. Chanyeol make a move toward Jessica and caressed her cheek with a smirk on his face. Jessica gulped with Chanyeol’s sudden action.
“You got a pretty face, don’t you?” Chanyeol whispered on Jess’ ear. That makes Jessica smiled.
Suddenly, I saw Kris got into the class, and he just staring at us with the jacket on his shoulder.
“But, why you got a such a bad personality? Better fix that, okay?” Chanyeol caressed Jess’ cheek and smiled at her. I was shocked with Chanyeol’s braveness. Chanyeol took my hand and dragged me outside the class, leaving everyone with a shock expression.
“Yah! You .. you .. !” Jessica shouted, she was startled because of Chanyeol’s action.
Kris walked towards Jessica who still in shock.
“Darl .. “ Jessica tried to took Kris’ hand. But Kris’ stop her with an annoyed face.
“Seriously, Jess? I’m getting tired of these . This is the end. You are nothing to me anymore.” Kris walked away, leaving Jessica with a shocked expression.
“Wh .. what?! Kris!” Jessica tried to chase Kris but he walked too fast. Everyone were looking at her. And she can hear the whispering tone from them.
“Argh!”
“Here, take this. I bought it special for you.” Chanyeol gave me one of the chocolate bar with that bright smile on his face, acted like nothing happen. I grabbed the chocolate from his hand and took a bite of it.
“Thank you.” I said while keep on eating the chocolate.
“For what?” Chanyeol took a deep breath with the cold breeze then turned his head to me. This is our place, the rooftop. The place where me and Chanyeol always spend our time together. Chasing around, teasing each other, gossiping, share our problems, eat our lunch . All of that, we do it here , together.
“For that. Thank you for protecting me.” I smiled. Chanyeol laughed.
“Don’t worry. My responsibility since you’re my friend. You’re not just my friend, y’know? You are my BEST friend.” He lie down on the ground. I sat beside him while eating the chocolate.
He stood up and looked at me. Then he smiled.
“Yah~ is it you, or is it you chin and your cheeks eating the chocolate? Look at you, with the chocolate all over your face.” Chanyeol wiped my cheeks with his hand. This make me remember of someone. Someone .. that I wish will never leave me.
“Thank you.” I looked at Chanyeol who had already lie down on the ground while looking at the sky.
“Welcome. Don’t you get tired of getting bullied?” He still looking at the sky while me, keep on eating my chocolate properly.
I chuckled. “I’m getting used to it. Don’t worry. I’m good.” I smiled at him while make the peace sign.
He smiled. “You’re getting use of everything, Ambie.” We continue to feel the cold breeze while looking at the blue sky.
Together.
Today, Chanyeol is not here. He sent a message to me last night that he got to take care of his grandmother. So, it’s only me. The same old days, without him to cheer me up.
I sit under the shady tree again and took out my sweet buns then begin to took a bite of it.
Suddenly, someone came and lie down on the ground beside me. I was shocked when I saw who is lying beside me.
“Is it nice? To sit here alone?” Kris stood up while looked at me. I gasped, I don’t know what to answer.
“Getting used to it.” I smiled and continue to eat my buns. Trying to act normal, as it was nothing happen.
Kris lie down back on the ground. He took out his MP then plucked it in his ears, he closed his eyes.
“Don’t hang out with that guy.” Kris said while still closing both of his eyes.
I looked at him, what does he mean?
“What do you mean, that guy?”
“Chanyeol. Please don’t” I was surprised with his statement. Why?
“Why not?”
“Just don’t. I don’t like it.” He answered while looking at me.
“What? He is my friend. Who are you to tell me not to be friend with him? You have no right to tell me what I have to do and what I cannot do.” I stopped from eating the buns. Do he realized what is he talking about?
“I’m sor—“
“You know what? If you come here, just to tell me this thing, You should not. Because I will never follow what you said! Did you realized what the hell are you talking about?!” I put my buns in my lunchbox, I took up my jacket and stood up.
But Kris stopped me with his hand. “I’m sorry. I know that all of these happened because of me. It’s my fault. I’m sorry.” Kris held my hands, I can’t stop my tears from flowing out.
“No! I’m not going to forgive you! Did I told you to not to hang out with that ? No, right? Because I know who am I ! Now, who are you to stop me from hang out with Chanyeol?! Stop this joke, Kris.” I’m not crying because I was sad. I was crying because I was disappointed and mad.
“Now, let go of me!” I rose up my voice. Kris let go of my hand, slowly. I quickly left him behind and went to the classroom straight away, I didn’t look back at all
‘I’m sorry, Amber.’
I let out a sigh and run my fingers through my hair. I know that sorry is not enough. I sat on the ground, didn’t know what to do. Tears started to flow out from my eyes. I tried to hold back, but I just can’t.
It’s hurt. It’s painful. Those eyes, those words, were the most painful things she said to me. I miss her so much. What can I do to make her forgive me? Nothing, everything was over.
It’s not because of the break up things with Jessica make me want to beg to Amber to come back to me. I want to beg for forgiveness from Amber since a long time ago. But, I can’t. Because I didn’t get any courage to talk to her.
“It’s hurt.”
I sit there , alone.
Crying.
