Risk
My Spell, The LuciferThe recording for Hello Baby went quiet smoothly but the aftermath was what Key was really worried about.
He decided that it was time to finally thread the bonds that had been broken a long time ago.
Once the filming had ended, Han Byul excused herself from the house and told Soo Jin that she was going to make "a phone call to Jay" when, indeed, she was just going for a walk to clear her mind.
Key sneakily followed her out without telling Onew or anyone else in SHINee. He wanted to straighten things out once and for all.
Once the two of them were far enough from the house, Han Byul stopped walking, causing Key to stop walking as well.
"Why are you following me?" She asked, her voice rather shaky which surprised Key.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything I did to you." Key suddenly blurted out but Han Byul remained untouched and unmoved.
"You're not. You betrayed me. You slept with her!" Han Byul suddenly shouted and unknown to Key, tears were spilling down her cheeks as she tried to keep her sobbing silent.
"It was a mistake! She drugged my drink! It was a mistake, I swear!" Key told her, urgency in his voice.
He wanted her to forgive her.
He never intended to hurt her.
He loved her.
And he still does to this day.
"Liar! You're lying! She even told me that you asked her out to prom!" She shouted, finally spinning around to face him, tears flowing down her face even faster as she cried harder.
Key, shocked that Han Byul was crying, was at a loss for words since this was the first time he had ever seen her cry.
"I never asked her. I was going to ask you. I loved you and I still do." He whispered but Han Byul still heard him. However, she wasn't about to change her mind so quickly.
"Liar! You're lying! I know it! You never loved me! You never told me that you loved me! You never knew how much I needed to hear those words." She yelled, finally breaking down utterly and crying her heart out.
Key was speechless.
He never knew.
But now he knew what to do.
And he prayed that it would work.
He took a step to her.
She didn't move.
She stayed there, crying.
He walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her in a comforting manner.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I never told you. I never knew. I'm sorry; I'm so sorry." He whispered into her ear and slowly, her tears dried.
Key was rubbing her back soothingly while cradling her in his arms, whispering apologies and sweet nothings in her ears.
They stayed like that, in each others arms, hoping that one day, they would slowly find each other again in this chaos called relationships.
Because in their hearts, they really did love each other.
What Key had done to Han Byul had hurt her deeply.
But that did not stop her from loving him.
Because love comes in different forms.
She persuaded herself in her mind that she hated Key.
But in truth, her heart always loved him.
Key's arms and heart are open to her.
He is vulnerable and the both of them know that.
She wants to love him forever.
Unfortunately, there is only one thing standing in between them.
Is Han Byul willing to take that risk?
