Foreword

I try to make the best of whatever is left. It's scary that's for sure, but my father always taught me to keep my head held high.

I'm cherishing the days I have left working at Cafe Chance.

I'm definitely going to miss Uncle Chan, he's been like a father to me ever since my own father passed on. Uncle Chan hired me back when I was just sixteen. I've been working with him for five years now. Naturally, we've become like family.

There's Dari, the small kid that tries to act like a tough guy. Honestly he's 16 but with his size you can mistakenly think he's a few years younger. He's definitely a lot more mature for someone his age though.

And there's Mika, the boy that whines a lot. He's 18 but always has something to complain about. But I wonder how it'd be once I'm no longer able to work with him. It'll get to quiet for comfort.

Asides from work, I'm spending whatever balance time I have with Gikwang. We've been friends since we were kids but we got serious 3 years whom it wasn't easy for us. He was working hard on his dream of being a performer while I, well, I didn't know why I wanted to do yet, just that I wanted to get a diploma. We hardly had time to meet and we had countless of fights when we do. It was so close to the end of our relationship but we persevered and made it work.

But now all of that seems to be a waste... How could a mother sell off her own daughter out of desperation? Am I worth only that much? But it's hard for me to put all the blame on mother since the mastermind behind this is none other than my step father.

He had made acquaintance with the Sun family while working as Mr Sun's personal driver. The Sun family owned a big corporation selling high end electronics and gadgets. The first and only son to the Sun family Jun, happened to be my schoolmates and had once confessed his feelings to me. But, he wasn't my cup of tea.

Jun had good looks but a very ugly personality. He was very egoistic, snobbish and stereotypical. He always thought he was above the others and people should respect him for his status. He seemed like a nut case to me.

When Jun had discovered the my step father was working for his father and that my family was in debt, he made his offer to clear of the debts, get them a new house and pay my family another large sum of money in exchange for my hand in marriage.

I tried my best to rebel against this but... I lost.

We've been engaged for 5 months already. It won't be long till the wedding. 30 days in fact. Just 30 days.
