The school was in an uproar. To say that I wasn’t excited was a lie, I was, however not as excited as every other girl. The day had barely begun and all the girls stuffed their bras and pouted their lips whereas the boys brought out their brass knuckles and notepads. Today was the day that would make not only television history but school history as well. Seoul academy would become SHINee-ier than it had been; pun intended.

“GaHee! How’s my makeup?!”

I turned to my friend as she applied yet another make up layer on her face. I rolled my eyes. She was going a bit overboard with the whole situation, but then again who wasn’t.

“Aren’t you going to do something with your face? If you just applied makeup on, one of them will surely fall in love with you. You are so pretty”

“GaHee doesn’t need any make up; besides, she has already stolen my heart”

I looked up to see Jin and smiled. Jin and I were best friends since the third grade. He was actually quite the ladies man. I gave him a playful smack on the arm and like Jin, he exaggerated.

“How you wound me, GaHee”

I laughed.

“Are you excited that our school will be turned into a studio?”

I shrugged at the question and gave him a sly smile.

“Are you threatened that you will no longer be the source of affection of every girl and steal their hearts?”

He copied my response to his question earlier. I smiled as he began walking past me towards the back to seat, but before he reached it he slowed near my seat and bent down and whispered in my ear.

“As long as I get to keep yours.”

I scoffed. He was always messing around. Nonetheless, we were all excited. Let me explain the situation. Seoul academy is one of the best schools in the country. Scratch that, the best. It wasn’t only based on money, but every kid walking the halls would be bound to stardom and fame. No lie. It was only appropriate that the newest and most anticipated show of the year would take place with the most talented and anticipated boy band. SHINee. Unlike the last show they were on, this one was based on a more recent song and captured a controversial, yet compelling concept for the viewers; amigo. That’s right; the show was called amigo, also called ice princess. The show was an experiment to see whether the five hot guys would be able to melt the heart of the school ice princess through a series of challenges and at the end would be chosen to go to the school dance with; it was every girl’s dream. For three weeks they had to spend in the classroom as regular students. It seemed interesting and everyone was pretty excited; the only concern I had was what would happen to our studies.

“Oh my god here she comes!”

I turned to where Mina pointed; it was May. May, A.K.A the ice princess would play the main character. She possessed all the qualities of a starlet. She was beautiful, smart and a killer personality, the only problem was she was my cousin and not very nice. I watched as she sauntered into the classroom and the birds began to sing. I had to smile a bit. She was very convincing.

“GaHee, your cousin is so pretty and so lucky. What I would do to have five hot guys fighting for my affection”

I shrugged. I was actually hoping that she didn’t fall for any of them. She was informed not to because of conflicting personal schedules with the boys and that the prize would only be the dance; I actually think it was because of the anti’s, but then again I May be wrong. Even though we weren’t on the same page all the time, I would hate to see her get hurt, that and I have to live with her. The class began to settle down as the teacher walked in. I watched as the teacher began to explain how we should act and what not. There were already cameras running in the classroom. There were about ten people all lined up along the sides and about five camera’s were on May and she was loving it. I had to admit, she played the part very well. I guess that makes sense, since her major was acting. It was quiet, but I could feel the excitement that was looming in the air. My heart began to pace faster; I couldn’t help but join them.

“Okay! Cut, thanks for that teacher. Now can I please have the ice princess show a bit of kindness?”

The director, who I found out was called director Kim, was extremely pushy. I looked around the room and noticed five empty seats around me. One behind me, two to the side of me and two on either side of Mina. Would they really be here everyday for three weeks in the class. What would happen to our studies?! A slight feeling of hesitation came over me; one thing I knew for sure was that this group was not going to distract me. My eyes drifted. I watched as what looked to be the director scanned the room. His eyes stopped in my direction and pointed.

“You!”

My eyes widened. I began to respond. I did not want to be on television.

“uh….”

“No not you, the girl in front of you with the unnaturally red cheeks.”

I let out a sigh of relief as I heard Mina jump up from her seat.

“Yes?”

“You, I want you to walk by and drop your books. I then want you to drop your lunch and pretend to want to cry. Then I want May to pick it up and give her your lunch. Clear? Good!”

I watched as Mina did as she was told except she added a bit of Mina to her acting. She conveniently placed her lunch beneath her desk and enthusiastically bent down to get it. Of course her skirt just happened to be shorter than normal and this exposed her upper thigh. I couldn’t help but laugh. That wasn’t even the best part. After grabbing her lunch and walking down the aisle, she did danced her way near May….girls generation style. Gee gee gee gee. I began shaking from my restrained laughter. That wasn’t all. When she finally arrived she dropped her lunch and bent down to pick it up, exposing oh so much cleavage. By the time the scene was done, every one was in awe. I turned my head to look at the director shaking his head.

“….never mind”

Poor guy. He was in for a really big surprise. Reality TV would never be the same. I heard most of the class laugh. I looked over at May who shot daggers at Mina. This would surely be interesting. The fight for camera time was on. As I continued with my thoughts a scream shocked me out of myself. The whole class woke up. They were here.

“Everybody to your places!”

I was a bit startled with the director. The door opened and I could hardly see from all the lights. It wasn’t until they disbursed throughout the room as I saw them. They looked good, granted I have seen better, but never have I seen anybody work the school uniform as good as they did. They stood in front of the class and began their introductions.

“Hi everyone, I’m Onew and I am the leader. I hope to be good friends with you all”

Scream.

“I’m Jonghyun. I’m the vocals and my mission is to melt the heart of the ice princess”

Louder scream.

“Hello. I’m Key. I hope to make you all smile and find the Key to all your hearts.”

Louder scream.

“Hi, I’m Minho. I hope to do well here”

Love sick sigh.

“Hi, I’m Taemin and the magnae of the group. I hope you can all accept me.”

Faint.

I smiled at the unison of expression throughout the room. I could feel the anger that boiled up in the guys in my class.

“Cut! That was good guys. Now I want you to introduce yourselves to the ice princess and display a special talent. Onew you’re the leader, so you start off”

I was actually really looking forward to it now. I was excited to see their individual talent. I watched as Onew looked up and smiled in my direction. May sat two seats in front of me and I could tell that she wanted to scream. She secretly loved Onew. I smiled at my thought. He cleared his throat and the cameras were on. He suavely walked past the boys and began singing. I had to admit he wasn’t half bad. He walked passed the girl in front and was now in front of May. He sang beautifully, the only problem was that he kept coming, past May, past Mina and he stood right in front of me. My heart began beating a million beats at a time. My eyes nervously scanned the room as Mina’s mouth touched the floor and May looked as if she wanted to murder me. I looked up at Onew who was finishing off the song. Finally he stopped and smiled and took my hand and gently placed a kiss on it.

“My name is Onew, and I will be the one to melt your heart.”

I wanted to hide in a hole and not come out until I was fifty. The whole room was filled with shock. He kept staring at me and I stared back purely in shock.

“Cut! Onew that was great except for the fact that YOU GOT THE WRONG GIRL”

Onew quickly turned around and noticed that the other four guys stood laughing and the director did not look happy. His eyes turned back to me and I hung my head in embarrassment. I heard him mumble some curses under his breath and what sounded like ‘not again’.

“Wait, I just….I’m sorry”

I watched as a staff member ran to his side and redirected him to May as she smiled shyly at him. He nodded and smiled back at her.

“Geez, hyung, you’re always such a spaz on camera.”

The really tall one had spoken. I think his name was Minho. He was pretty good looking too. Onew awkwardly laughed and turned back to me and bowed in apology.

“Mianhe”

I nodded still staring at him as I could feel the heat creeping up to my cheeks. He began to walk back and my eyes stayed on him until they diverted to May who was now glaring my way. I cringed at the thought of sharing the same ride home as she. I let out a sigh; stupid SHINee. I could hear the laughter of the other students and a voice that said ‘way to start off a show Onew’. I’m sure it was one of the members. I looked up to catch the director.

“Onew MEETING ICE PRINCESS TAKE TWO, ACTION!”

…..and I thought this was supposed to be a reality show.

The rest of the introductions went on smoothly. I was impressed by their singing talents and even more impressed with Taemin’s dancing skills. He was really good. I watched as they all headed back to the front of the room where they stood. The mc of the show, who I think was someone new because I had never seen him before on television, then began to explain their first mission. The winner would get to eat lunch with May. I was a bit excited to see what it would be. I listened intently.

“Now that you’ve all been introduced, let’s start with our first challenge!”

The class brightened as SHINee listened attentively. I could tell that may was also excited, I too found my self waiting in anticipation.

“Let’s get into the groove of school again shall we?”

I smiled as I watched Onew slump onto Jonghyun as the mc mentioned school. He must’ve not been very good at it I guess. The mc turned to Minho and smiled.

“Minho, do you know the first president of the united states?”

George Washington.

“George Washington”

“Ha! Correct! I can see now that there is in fact a brain in SHINee”

We all laughed. I even let out a chuckle or two. The mc was a funny guy.

“You might have guessed it. For a lunch date with the beautiful May, we will be having a trivia! And because May speaks English and loves America, all these questions will be based on that subject”

“Aish…”

The whole class broke into laughter as Onew smacked his head in frustration. Was that professional?

“I can see that Onew is probably at a disadvantage, but let’s start anyway!”

The mc pointed to the door and in came a foreigner, with blonde hair. Everyone was awestruck.

“Good morning everybody, my name is James”

Wah, James looked like brad Pitt.

“Yah! Look at his hair! He looks like brad Pitt!”

The mc continued to point and laugh, as did the class. I smiled as James put out his hand for a handshake. The mc jumped in front of him, put a finger up and shook it.

“No no James”

The class laughed, mainly at his pronunciation. He bowed and James nodded. He then introduced himself to the whole class and then to the SHINee members.

“Without further ado, let the games begin. When the question is asked in English, the SHINee members will have to grab a piece of ice and put it in their mouths, whoever melts the ice first will get to answer the question. You will only be given six questions. Got it good go. James begin!”

In perfect English James begun.

“How many states does the united states have?”

The class began to laugh as the all rushed for an ice cube. Taemin was the first to stick out his tongue and had the privilege to answer the question.

“Fifty!”

“COOOOORRREEECT! The youngest member must have been good in school! Okay next question”

The whole class clapped as Taemin bowed in appreciation. I looked at May and she too clapped and smiled. It was James’s turn to talk.

“When is independence day in America?”

They all grabbed the ice cubes once more, however, this time, Jonghyun decided it would be funny to slip a piece of ice into Onew’s shirt secretly and that caused him to move in funny motions. In addition to doing so, he then managed to knock the bucket of ice all over the floor. The whole class began to laugh once more as James and the mc looked
at the ice that spilled on the floor.

“Yah that was our only bucket of ice!”

The boys turned to Onew as he sheepishly smiled. Wow, this guy was clumsy and quite frankly he didn’t seem so smart either. The mc shrugged.

“I guess we’ll have to think of something else. Should we let May choose who she wants to have a lunch date with?”

The class went ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’. We all stared at May as she slumped into her seat and her cheeks turned red; she was a really good actress.

“Ah, she is so cute! We can’t put all that pressure on such a cute face! How about we all let them have lunch and have them fight for her affection there. What do you guys say?”

The class agreed as SHINee nodded their heads. What were we gonna do for the rest of the day? I wanted the class to begin already. The mc and James finally left the room, however the cameras stayed. The boys took their seats and were supposed to pretend like they were in the class. Onew and Minho ended up sitting on either side of me, Key and Taemin sat on both sides of Mina and Jonghyun sat directly behind me.

“Okay class lets begin our lesson….”

I was relieved that the teacher began lecturing. I took notes as he did. The students were told that even though there were camera’s we were all expected to take notes because they would be on the final. My head was down and I was studiously taking notes when a piece of paper plopped onto my desk. I looked around and saw that everyone was looking at the teacher. I opened it; it was from Mina.

‘I am so freaking out right now! They are so hot! Did you see how May was looking at Onew? She is so in love with him! I am so jealous! I can’t believe they are sitting next to me; maybe I should kidnap all of them and steal them from May? Are you sure you don’t want any makeup?!’

I let out a chuckle reading Mina’s note; however it was a bit too loud and attracted the attention of the teacher who turned around. I quickly hid the note in my binder.

“Is there something funny, GaHee?”

I looked up at the teacher. The whole class was now staring at me, including all the SHINee members. I shook my head.

“Nothing at all sir.”

He stared at me suspiciously and turned back around. I let out a breath of relief as I began taking notes again; however, as I was doing so, another note plopped on my desk. Once again I looked around and saw nothing. I opened the letter; it was from Mina.

‘GaHee! I am so sorry! I promise I’ll make it up to you! Let’s go noraebong after school’

I sighed and shoved the paper in my binder. I continued o take notes again, that was before I felt a plop hit the back of my head.

“What the-“

“GaHee!”

My eyes widened as the teacher turned back around and stared at me. I sheepishly laughed and silently apologized.

“I’m warning you…”

I nodded and when the teacher turned back I turned around curious to see who threw the paper and like before, there was no indication. I was getting irritated. I turned back to my notes and as I did there was another plop on the back of my head. I didn’t turn around this time, however clenched my jaw. Hell was awaiting whoever was throwing those paper balls at my head. It came again and I ignored it, although I’m sure my blood pressure was well above normal. It stopped for a while, and then there was a plop on my desk. I took the note and opened it. It was from Mina.

‘Are you okay GaHee? I think May thinks you want attention, so you’d better stop drawing so much attention to yourself. She’s getting jealous. She’s glaring at you with the eyes on the back of her head’

I sighed and put that note away with the others. The throwing papers had stopped; I was surprised when I felt a tug of my ponytail and yelped. Once again, the teacher looked at me sternly and all eyes were on me.

“GaHee….”

“Mianhe, I got a paper cut”

I could tell that he didn’t believe me, but he turned away anyway. I turned around once more, this time my eyes met Jonghyun’s. He smiled and I quickly turned away. That was weird. It had been a few minutes until there was another plop on my desk. I sighed. I made a mental note to yell at Mina after class. I took a look at the note; it wasn’t from Mina.

‘There is a bee on your head’

I blinked twice before I got up while screaming ‘ah get it away from me!’ and ‘bee!’ I tried to shake in from my head. I didn’t need to see to know that the whole class was looking at me, but I didn’t care; it was a friggin’ bee! I eyed the bee flying out the window and was relaxed. I sighed in relief. I looked up at the teacher. He shook his head and I whispered sorry.

“GaHee, please stay after class today.”

I nodded and I quietly sat back down; however I could still feel the eyes that followed my every move. This was not a good way to start a day, especially when the whole thing was being filmed. I hoped I would get edited out. After a while I began taking notes again, and after a while another letter plopped on my desk. I don’t know why I kept doing it, but I opened it again.

‘You have split ends. What conditioner do you use?’
