"Yong JunHyung… He’s… He’s nowhere to be found!”

I panicked. Leaving a bewidering DooJoon behind, I ran away.

“Ya! Ya! Wait for me!”

“YongYong ah~ Sweet YongYong ah~ Where are you?”

I ran up to the rooftop. I knew one would be crazy to stay at the rooftop when it was raining that heavily. But I had a feeling that my-JunHyung was there. I mean JunHyung-my-patient.

And I was right. JunHyung was alone in the corner of the rooftop. He was thoroughly wet. His face was pale, he was trembling unconsciously. It hurt so much to see him like that. I ran to him, hugged him tight, hoping he would get my warmth in the embrace.

“Babo! Why coming up here in the first place?”

I blamed him for the pain growing up inside. Why making me hurt like this? That you’re hurt means I’m hurt too, you know that?

“JangJang ah~ Blood… Died… Already… It’s raining red…”

JunHyung panickingly hugged me even tighter. Only terror and fear could be seen in his eyes. His trembling hands grabbed tightly onto my blouse.

“YongYong ah~ Calm down, calm down! JangJang is here to protect you! It’s alright now! YongYong has JangJang now!”

I tried to calm him down. In fact I was the one who couldn’t keep calm. But one person losing his sanity was just enough.

I tightened my embrace. Seeing him like that was too painful… Too painful to handle…

“It’s OK now… Everything will be fine…”

JunHyung and I would have stayed in the rain all day long like that if DooJoon hadn’t caught up and dragged us both inside.

I tried to think of a reason why I couldn’t think or do anything but hug JunHyung. All those years being a doctor, I had never felt so helpless.

Only when JunHyung was sound asleep could I settle my mind to get change and leave with DooJoon. Jun was a little bit feverish due to the stupid rain. It was partly my fault that JunHyung’s condition got worse like that.

“Is he OK?” - DooJoon asked.

“Hey, a beggar who robs won’t feel as guilty as someone who used to be rich does it, right?”

“What do you mean?”

“Yong JunHyung, he… he caused a fatal accident.”

“Wha… What?” - DooJoon almost screamed out of his lungs when I sent him a death glare.

“His family was kinda rich so the incident didn’t come to light. However, since then, he had a guilty conscience about it and was haunted by that guilty feeling growing bigger day by day.”

I sipped at my tea.

“You’re the one I trust the most, that’s why I’m telling you this. Will you keep it a secret?”

“Do you trust me?” DooJoon looked me in the eye. I caught warmth and trustworthiness in his eyes. I knew, even if I didn’t tell him to, he would keep his mouth shut. Cause that’s the DooJoon I know.

“Of course I do” - I smiled at him.

“Does he stand a chance of recovering?”

“Well yeah, quite a good one actually! But honestly, I don’t want him to recover.”

“What? Why?” - DooJoon looked at me with a confused expression. His reaction was somehow predictable to me.

“When he has recovered, will he be any happier to live in such a family? Cover everything up to keep the reputation of the family whole. When JunHyung got sick, they didn’t care a bit but throw him into this God-damn hospital. They do send the fees, but they haven’t visited him for once.”

“How could they…”

“Because JunHyung was adopted.”
