It was quite bizzare writing in 1st person again after such a long time working in 3rd so hopefully it reads okay and I managed to translate the plot well but I hope you enjoy it either way.

They applauded brightly as I blew out the candles. Lost watching the smoke dance though the noise, I jump as they pulled party poppers sending colourful string cascading through the air. As I pulled the strands from my hair and off the cake, Prince Mak hummed happily “Congratulations! A year with us as a trainee, and in a few more months you’ll prepare for your debut. This is going to be a good year.”

“Oppa no-one knows for sure when they’ll start the debut preparations, how can you be so confident it will be soon?” I smile surprised by his sureness. Noticing that he hadn’t caught the question as he was trying to out cute Zica and make Simba laugh, I watched as E.Co shook his head at them and replied “We know how talented you are and how hard you’ve worked to get here, besides it wasn’t that long ago we were preparing for our debut we still remember what people were up to before we were told.”

I try not to get my hopes up and instead of dwelling on the notion help Sancheong cut the cake. Chasing the sprinkles on my plate with the last piece of sponge while chatting to Yul about what it’s like living so far away from home, I noticed Prince Mak had been on his phone practically the whole afternoon.

Thinking back, every time he picked his phone up he‘d smiled making me wonder who he was talking to. I shrug slightly and decide he was probably talking to his mum. As they return to their training session I begin clearing up the mess. Caught by surprise as E.Co appeared beside me helping to tidy up, all I could do was splutter “Oppa?”

“You didn’t think we’d be so horrible we’d make most of the mess and expect you to clean it all up, did you?” he smiled at me as he began sweeping the floor “…Or were you hoping Prince Mak would stay back to help?” flushing a deep pink, I try and pretend I didn’t and mumble “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Feeling the look he was giving me though I had my back to him and couldn’t see it, I knew I hadn’t gotten away with that “Kelly you’ve been hanging with us for a year, you’re a good friend and a better actress than Eddy was giving you credit for but as much as you may not want to admit it you like him.”

As my head fell, it was obvious I had not hidden how I felt as well as I’d hoped to. Glancing up to see if E.Co was still there as it had fallen awfully quiet, the look of sympathy he was giving me felt like I’d been stabbed in the chest. With an inadvertent shake of my head I tried to pretend it wasn’t true but the pity behind his look confirmed it was.

“I’m so sorry Kelly… I thought you ought to know, especially if the rumours are true.” He mumbled before leaving to join the others in the training room. A heavy sigh escaped as I switched the radio on to fill the judgemental silence. I close my eyes as BTS came on, and tried to hold back my tears as I sang along,

"It hurts, I’m always cry cry cry
I’m going crazy, exhausted without you
I think of you without stopping
I hate it all, I hate every single day"

After dropping the paper plates into the nearby bin, I kicked it over to the table to sweep the crumbs left behind into it. Reaching for the hand brush that had been left by the door, I found a pair of feet making me pause mid action. Instantly recognising the shoes I tried not to flinch as I looked up to see Prince Mak standing in front of me.

Stepping back before turning away, I mumbled “You should be at rehearsals oppa.” Hearing him follow me across the room, I tried to continue tidying while attempting to get my head around what was happening “You’ve been acting odd around me, I want to know why.” Gasping as he turned me round to face him, all I could do was flush magenta and focus on a pile of crumbs that had collected on the floor. Unable to help tearing up as he pulled me close, a single crystal bead fell as I wrapped my arms around his ribs.

Falling into complete shock as he placed a kiss on my forehead, he whispered “You should have told me how you felt, I never would have hurt you…” feeling the sharp stabbing pain spread through my chest again, all I could manage was a whisper “It wouldn’t have mattered, you’re seeing someone anyway.” Feeling his ribs sigh almost like a sob, I couldn’t believe what he said next “I only agreed to go out with her because I didn’t think I had a chance with someone as amazing as you.”

Looking up in surprise and finding he was as close to tears as I was, it was like I was in auto pilot as he brought a hand to my neck and I allowed him to pull me into a kiss.
