Invisible Love (Sequel to 'The Translator and the Idol')

Description

"Tranquility and peace.

No sounds, no corruption, no pain

no break ups, no lies, nothing...

I was finally at peace: surrounded by white walls and symphonies of violins and harps playing in unison, but were unseen.

I didn't want to get up, but something urged me to get up.

I look around my surroundings and realize there is no civilization anywhere.

I was in a white room filled with nothing.

I wasn't sure if I should be scared or not.

"Where am I?" I said to myself.

I rise from the ground, but fall straight back:

"Ouch...my head hurts..." I said as I slowly got back up to my feet.

I wander around the room walking on top of fluffy white cotton ball like clouds.

"Is this...no way..." I said as I stood in front of a TV monitor. It was shuddering black and white. Nothing was on the screen.

"Is it broken?" I reached for the monitor when suddenly lights started to shine from the TV.

I shield my eyes from the strong white light shining from the TV.

As the light starts to fade I slowly move my hands from my face and stare blankly at the box.

There were moving pictures on the monitor.

The people looked somewhat familiar, but I didn't know who they were.

I scrutinize the monitor while sitting down on top of the fluffy clouds.

The feeling of the clouds grasp my bottom and adjust to my size helped me relax a bit more.

I watch the moving pictures and laugh at some of the scenes.

There were a group of boys running around, eating their hamburgers and shopping.

"Who are they?" I thought.

As I indulged the pictures, a familiar looking boy caught my eyes.

Tall, lean, young, and gray-haired.

"I've seen him before." I said aloud.

When the boy's face was close to the screen, I reached out  my hand to touch the monitor when it suddenly shut off.

"What was that?" I said.

"Your memory..." a young boy said behind me.

I look back to see a guy looking down at me with a smile.

"He looks cute," I thought.

"What is it?"

"It's your memory. Or shall I say, your passed memories."

"Past memories? Why the past?"

"Well, it seems like you're a bit confused, but...you're not alive right now." the boy said.

"What do you mean? Where am I?" I said with my voice trembling from fear.

"Don't worry you're in a safe place, called Elsewhere."

"Elsewhere?" I repeated to myself.

"Why am I here?"

"Well, it's kind of hard to say because it may shock you, but...you're dead right now." the boy said while avoiding my eyes.

"Dead? Me? How?" I thought.

"You drowned yourself in the bathtub...remember?"

"Bathtub..." I kept repeating the word.

"I think it had to do something with--"

"Wait! How do you know that?"

"Well...I'm your guardian angel. Excuse me let me introduce myself. My name is Sungjae...Yook Sungjae."

"My guardian angel? Why--"

"Well first of all, do you know your name?"

"Jungbin Song."

"Age?"

"20."

"Okay, so you know who you are. Tell me if you know these people." He said as he magically poofed up 6 photos.

"How did you--"

"No questions. Now tell me, do you remember this man?" It was a guy wearing a casual Obey Propaganda shirt while holding a tigger.

"I've seen him before, but I don't recall."

"Okay, how about him?" This time he held up a picture of a pale, tall man surrounded by 4 cups of coffee.

"I recognize the excessive amount of coffee, but not the man." The angel was starting to scare me. I wasn't sure if it was important or not for me to know who these guys were."

He kept showing me more pictures, but the last picture caught my eye.

"Do you remember this man?" He was tall, lean, gray-haired like the guy on the TV monitor.

"Oh! I saw him on the TV monitor before it shut off. His face is very familiar."

"But do you know who he is?" Sungjae asked a bit frustrated.

"Um...hmmm...uhh--" All these names started to rumble through my head. I've seen his face, not only on the monitor, but other places as well.

"If you don't it's fine, I was just wondering if you--"

"Was his name...Zelo?" I mummer under my breath.

"Repeat his name please."

"Zelo?" I said while holding onto my chest.

Suddenly Sungjae's face was intruded by a huge smile. I didn't know what to do so I smiled back.

"So you do remember him." He said as he clapped his hands and turned the white room into a theatre for performing.

"Now Jungbin-sshi...you must listen to every word I'm about to say now."

I nodded my head, but was confused why I it was significant that I knew him.

"What you're about to see maybe be shocking, yet enlightening to you. You may feel comfort, but also tribulation. If you ever feel uncomfortable and want to stop the video, just tell me."

I nodded my head again seating myself in front of the stage.

It was another video montage. It had the same characters from before. I watched keenly when suddenly I saw my face upon the screen.

"Why am I--"

I was hugging a man. Not just any man, but the tall, lean man: Zelo.

I started to feel anxious and nervous. I didn't what to expect from the video.

Then suddenly, I saw myself wrap my arms around the man's neck and move in slowly for a kiss.

I shielded my eyes, abstruse that it was me in the video.

When I opened my eyes, it was a different scene in a hospital room.

"I'll be by your side forever...I love you" the man said. I opened my eyes widely as I saw the man wrap his arms around my waist and climb on top of me.

"That can't be me." I said as I stomped my feet on the ground. I signaled Sungjae to turn the video off.

Appalled, I covered my eyes ashamed to face Sungjae.

"I-I-I-I don't undertstand...who was that?"

I started to breath quicker and quicker, almost hyperventilating.

Sungjae put his hand on my shoulder which made the apprehension disperse from my body.

"That was you...before your accident."

I held onto his hand on my shoulder.

"Then...who was that guy?"

"He was your boyfriend...Zelo."

I found it hard to believe that I dated someone like him. I mean, tall, lean, good-looking, gray-haired...he was not my style. I don't understand how I could have dated such a guy.

"We were dating?"

"Yes, until...you felt pain and was lonely; which is how you got here."

"So...I'm dead...because of him?" I said in a somber tone.

I let go of Sungjae's hand and grasped for my chest.

My heart was beating faster and faster each second.

Who was this guy that I would sacrifice my life for him?

"T-t-this doesn't make sense!!  I would never fall for such a--"

Sungjae cut me off by tightening his grip on my shoulder.

"Jungbin-sshi...there's a reason as to why I showed you this video."

I blankly stare at him with no soul. I didn't know what to do. I wasn't sure if I should feel happy or sad.

"H-h-he...he still can't forget you..."

"Who? Zelo?"

Sungjae quietly nods.

Suddenly your head starts to ache.

"Are you okay? Is there something wrong?"

"I've...I've always had issues with my head. I got into an accident with my father when I was younger and whenever I'm confused my head automatically starts to hurt."

"Do you want to lie down?"

I shook my head. I was curious about Zelo now like: How come I can't remember him distinctly? Why did I die for him? Why can't he forget me?

"So...what do I have to do?" I asked as my head was slowly alleviated.

"You have to make the pain go away for him."

I gave him a stern glare. "Make the pain go away?"

"How can I do that if I'm dead? I don't even recall any memories with him except for his name!"

"That's simple...do you believe in ghosts?"

"Ghosts?" I repeated in my head.

I shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't sure because I wasn't into horror movies or anything. And I've never seen a ghost so I never really thought about them.

"Well, you're a ghost now. And all you have to do is give him signs suggesting that you're there next to him and make him forget about you and the pain."

"Forget me," I thought while rustling with my clothes. I was wearing a short white dress and no shoes.

"How am I supposed to make him forget about me?"

He smirked and put his hand on my shoulder again.

"It's simple:

it's called, invisible love. Though he can't see you

you have to make him believe you are there

and help him forget about you."
