Chapter 7

JUST Common Sense

No One's POV

“Don’t EVER do that again!” Kyung scolded Soyoung outside of the hospital. “How stupid can you be?! Why would you do that?! Gosh, Kim Soyoung, you’re so dumb, dammit!”

She stayed quiet, not saying anything. The pain on her right cheek still stings but she wasn’t going to complain. After all, she was the one who did it to herself.

Kyung held onto her shoulders and sighed, looking at her with a more gentle look. One that was quite rare, in fact. “Don’t ever do that again,” he whispered, repeating himself. “Do you hear me?” Soyoung nodded, not making eye contact with Kyung. He tipped her head up using his thumb and forefinger to examine her cheek before wincing himself from seeing the hand print. “That’s gotta hurt.”

She quickly shook her head. “It doesn’t hurt,” Soyoung replied.

Kyung snickered, tapping slightly on her cheek causing her to wince. “Liar,” he rolled his eyes before rubbing her cheeks in his hands. “Don’t you know? My sister has the worst slaps ever. She could even be the champion of it in the whole country. Why do you think I never tried to mess with her when I was younger? Now look what happened to you.”

“I didn’t want her to hurt you,” she replied quietly. “It’s not right for her to hit you.”

“She had every right to hit me, pabo,” he knocked her head lightly with his knuckles. “She’s my sister. Whether or not she hits me, you shouldn’t jump in front of me like that. You got hurt and now I don’t know what to say to your parents.”

“I’ll just try to hide it,” she replied matter-of-factly. “It’s not anything big.”

Kyung scoffed. “You’ve got to be kidding me. You have no idea how obvious that handprint looks on you.”

Soyoung’s eyes widen. *Handprint?!*

He laughed at your reaction. “So, you were saying about hiding it?”

She brought her hand up and slapped his arm. “Shut up,” she muttered, rubbing her still pained cheeks. “Is it really obvious?”

Kyung looked at it once more before nodding, “Very obvious, although it wouldn’t be if you applied make-up on it.”

“Really?” Her hopes grew. If she applies make-up on it, then her parents wouldn’t know. Of course. Excellent idea, Kyung!

He smiled, “Yup, so you better not apply make-up.”

Soyoung’s face fell. “What? Don’t put make-up on it? I think you mean put make-up on it.”

Kyung shook his head, “No, I mean it. Don’t put make-up on it.”

“But if I don’t, my parents will see it!” Soyoung was frustrated. Was he not seeing what he’s saying?

“Exactly.” Soyoung’s eyes rounded, yet, Kyung continued, “They need to see it. I’m not going to make you hide something that I created. That’s stupid and lame and most-right not cool. I have my pride too, you know? I’m not a jerk that’s not going to stand for what he did wrong. Don’t worry, I will tell your parents myself that I did it.”

“No!” Soyoung refused. “You can’t. If you do, they will --“

“Kyung!” a voice interrupted Soyoung. Soyoung looked over Kyung’s shoulder as Kyung turned to see who had called his name. There, they saw B-bomb, or so he liked to be called as, running over. “Kyung! Your mom! She’s awake!”

Soyoung’s POV

Kyung’s heart leapt in joy. “R-really?”

B-Bomb nodded before Kyung turned to look at me. I smiled brightly at him. “What are you doing?” I asked. “Hurry and go see her!”

Kyung swallowed and nodded before running inside with B-Bomb.

It felt refreshing again, knowing that Mrs. Park was awake. I wanted to go in and see her too, but I couldn’t. Not like this, at least. Knowing Mrs. Park, she would question how I got slapped anyways, or who did it. I couldn’t lie to her if she did ask though. I couldn’t lie that it wasn’t her daughter that did it, because it was. Either ways, she would’ve seen right through my lies if I had lied.

I breathed in before exhaling, sitting on the bench. I took out my phone and took random photos of me. It was just out of boredom, really. Throughout taking the photos, I couldn’t help but wonder where Zico had went. I decided to call him. Why not? I really wanna make sure he’s okay.

After the third ring, I was starting to lose hope that he would answer. As I was about to hang up, he picked up.

“…” There was silence on his end. I grew confused. Was he there or not?

“Zico?” I spoke into my phone.

“…” Yet, no answer. He’s there. Definitely. I could hear his breathing.

“Yah, answer me. Don’t just keep quiet.” I wanted to hear his voice. At least that would tell me that he’s okay.

“How’s Kyung’s mom?” He finally said after some moment of quietness.

I smiled, relieved that he finally said something. “They said that she’s awake. Kyung went in to see her.”

“What about you? You didn’t go?” His voice sounded of concerned.

“Yeah, I didn’t go,” I replied, kicking at the cement beneath my feet.

“Why not?”

I sighed. I didn’t want to tell him either. He would scold me, and hate Songhye more than he already does. I knew that and anyone who knew Woo Jiho would know that. He doesn’t like Songhye. He despises her. It’s almost as if she’s been his enemy since birth, yet it was hard to understand the fact that they once dated.

“Because I’m already heading home. I would stay, but my mom called and told me to go home,” I lied. I know I was a bad liar. I’ve always been, but this time, I hope Zico would buy it. I needed him to.

“… Your mom knows that you’re with us for today. Why did she call you to go home?” Oh no. Bad. He’s suspecting something. Okay, so who wouldn’t? It was the worst lie ever.

I gulped quietly, “Because they want me to... Meet up with Luhan, again. This time, instead of going out or anything, Luhan’s coming over with Mr. and Mrs. Lu, so no escape this time.”

I could hear Zico sighed. I did a mini victory dance in my mind, glad that he bought it, yet disappointed in myself at the same time for lying. “Do you need a ride? I’ll come pick you up.”

“No!” I rejected. “That’s fine. You’d be wasting your time anyways. I’m almost home anyways.”

“Fine,” Zico gave up. “Call me when the guy leaves, okay? So you can rant about him.”

I laughed. He knew me. He knows me. He did, he does, and he will always know me. Always. “Okay, got that checked down.”

The line went clear telling me that he had hung up. At least I know I somehow cheered him up by calling him. At least I know he’s not in any kind of danger or anything. That’s all I need to know.

I decided to just go home. After all, waiting out here won’t do any good either. What if Zico came and saw me here? Big trouble then. I stood up and walked off of the hospital’s territory.

After 10 minutes of walking, a car stopped on the road as I walked passed it. I could hear it make a U-turn as it stopped beside me, except it was on the street. I looked at the unfamiliar cool looking car to see who was driving it but I had no clue who it was. The windows were plain black and I could only see my reflection. I breathed in before continuing to walk but the car kept on following me.

*Why is this car following me?!* The faster I walked, the more it sped up to keep up with me. As I was about to face it and yell at the car and the driver itself, it sped off in such speed that surprised me. *What the heck? Crazy driver.*

I rolled my eyes. “What was that all about?” I continued walking again before the car came back after making a U-turn at the end of the block, stopping at an immediate halt, scaring the wits out of me. I shrieked, clasping a hand over my chest as I backed up. I glared at the car as the black windows rolled down.

“Get in!” the driver yelled. I furrowed my brows and bent down a bit to get a clear view of who the driver was.

I was more surprised than mad, actually. For this time, anyways. “Luhan?”

“Hurry and get in,” he said once again. He bent over the passenger’s seat and unlocked the door, pulling the door hand and pushed it open a bit. “I opened it for you, now get on.”

“Uhm, why?” So why was he doing this when we BARELY talked or even had the slightest sight of each other? I can’t even remember the last time I saw him.

… Okay, I saw him two weeks ago. That’s still pretty long for someone I don’t know.

“One, because it’s going to rain any minute now,” he stated in such a manner that anyone would’ve thought he was some sort of nerd freak. “And two, I was told to, so can you get on so I don’t get nagged at?”

“Wait, you were told to come pick me up?” I asked, ignoring his first reason. I was quite shock. What did that mean? Did his parents know that I was at the hospital or something?

“Can you just get on?” he rolled his eyes. I swallowed and looked around to see if anyone around us was paying attention before getting in and closing the door.

Funny how he was right. The minute I got in his car, it rained right away.

He must’ve seen my expression of shock when I saw the rain tapping on the windows because he had the guts to say, “Told you so.”

It’s been quiet ever since he talked. It was awfully awkward. I didn’t know what to say and seems like he doesn’t even wanna say anything. It was when we stopped at a stop sign and he turned to look my way to see if any cars were coming. I guess that was when he noticed because instead of stopping at my house, he drove to his back yard and parked there.

“Uhm, why are we at your place?” I asked. Did he want me to walk to my place or something?

“Don’t you want some make-up on that bruise of yours?” He took out his keys from the car ignition and took his seatbelt off.

“Bruise? What bruise -- … Oh.” I shut up right away. Yup, I did. I mean, I had to. I had totally forgotten about the slap. It must’ve been really noticeable then, but bruise?! It turned into a bruise?! Sad life.

“Come on, my parents aren’t home so I can take you inside and take you home afterwards,” he said, getting of his car. I did the same, following him.

“Where are your parents?” I asked full of curiosity. If this is another plan of theirs to leave me alone with him, then WOW.

“They went out for a one of my Aunt’s party. Apparently it’s my aunt’s birthday,” he answered unlocking the door and heading inside. Like before, I followed him inside, closing and locking their front door.

“Then why didn’t you go?” I asked, taking my shoes off.

“I didn’t want to. Plus, I wouldn’t have been able to anyways. It’s only for the elders, or so I was told.” He took off his plaid shirt, leaving only a muscle shirt on. I was unfazed by it though. I mean, Zico and Kyung does it all the time when I go over to their place. Plus, they have way more than Luhan has. He’s so skinny and … bony. Well, okay, he has the guns in his arms, but Zico still has more.  Luhan, on the other side, looks so fragile. “I’ll be back. I’m gonna grab my mom’s make-up.”

I watched him travel up the stairs before turning the corner and go out of sight. I sighed, sitting on the couch, touching my cheek. Gosh, how long would it take for it to go away?

Luhan quickly ran down the stairs and came over to me, seating next to me. “Turn this way,” he commanded.

I froze. He was going to do it for me? I smiled sheepishly, “It’s fine. I got it,” I said, grabbing for the skin-colored pallet, but he pulled his arm back preventing me from doing so.

“You can’t even see it. How are you going to put it on yourself?” he complained, pushing my arm away before he cupped my under jaw with one hand and making me tilt my head and started applying the make-up like a professional. “Sorry, my mom’s old style. She doesn’t use baby cream but she uses these powder ones.”

Still taken by surprise by his actions, I stuttered, “N-no it’s fine. Anything would do fine anyways… But, why are you doing this?”

“Doing what?” he paused.

“Uhm, covering my bruise up? Didn’t your parents tell you to just pick me up? Like, just pick me up?” I questioned. He sighed and started applying the make-up again.

“They didn’t specifically tell me to pick you up, stupid.,” he answered plainly.  “I just saw you and offered a ride and I had the feeling you don’t want your parents to see this, especially when it’s so noticeable. Common sense.”

*So I guess Luhan can be nice too…?* I nodded a bit, but not too much so he wouldn’t be bothered while putting the make up slightly over my pained cheek. It didn’t hurt anymore for some weird reason, but who am I to talk? I’m glad that it doesn’t hurt anymore.

The room was filled with awkward silence again. Ohgawd. Worst thing ever.

“How did you get this anyways?” Luhan broke the silence. “I never thought you’d be the type that gets into fights.”

I rolled my eyes as he pulled his hand away and closed the skin-colored pallet. “Please, I don’t. It was just a coincidence that I got this.”

“What kind of coincidence?” He scoffed, grabbing a magazine off of the table and looking through it. I honestly don’t even know if he’s rude or what anymore.

“Uhm, just something that happened.” Well, I wasn’t going to tell him the truth either. It’s no use. What if he told my parents?

“Hmm, is that so?” He closed the magazine and placed it back on the table. Why would he open it and not even read it then put it back? I don’t know. Ask him yourself, Soyoung. “So reasonable, you know?” I could hear the sarcasm in his voice as he stared into my eyes.

As he looked into my eyes, I couldn’t help but notice his features. His perfect milky white skin that bored around his lips, his eyes. His eyes were rounded to a certain point that spelled out ‘perfect’ as for his lips were cherry lighted pink. It wasn’t chapped and was a perfect pair of lips whether it was parted or closed. His nose was straight and had a nice small curved arch that made his face stand out with his other features.

It was then that I realized what I was doing as I avoided his eyes and looked around his house. “Y-yeah, of course. It’s my business anyways so I guess telling you is something I don’t need to do.”

I could see him roll his eyes intently as he looked down at his watch before showing a small tint of frown. He looked back up at me. “You’re welcome,” he rolled his eyes. “ By the way, you made me late. Don’t you think you should go now?”

“What?”

Is he kicking me out?

“I have to go somewhere, so can you leave now?” He repeated himself in a different way, getting up. I, too, got up. “Unless you want me to drive you home?”

I furrowed my brows. “But my home is right across from yours.”

He gave a small dry laugh, that somehow made me want to punch his nicely featured face, before turning to a serious face adding annoyance on it. “Now you caught on to my sarcasm?”

I clenched my fist. What is his problem? It’s not like I begged him to come into his house. I rolled my eyes heavily, just to probably annoy him in any way.  “Please, I don’t go that route. I will take my leave.” I snickered before walking towards the door to put my shoes on.

Before I could leave the house, Luhan stopped me with his voice. “If the parents ask, tell them that we had fun.”

My forehead creased as I was left confused. “Excuse me? You want me to lie to my own parents?”

“You did it the other time you signed the one paper. Just lie again,” he said, grabbing his keys off the table. “Unless you don’t want to lie again cause you’re such a goody girl.”

“Of course I don’t want to lie,” I said skeptically. I never want to lie to my parents. There’s been a couple of times when I have lied to them, like signing the one paper from Luhan and my last visit with each other, but that was basically it. I never really had lied to my parents before. “It’s not like I’m the mommy’s boy though, right Lulu~?” I cooed in a playful voice.

I could see his eyes fume with anger when I had called him that. Mrs. Lu had told me that only she was the only one who calls Luhan that and Luhan absolutely dislike that name. It was one way to get back at him. Hehe. Payback.

He closed his eyes to calm. “You can go now,” he said through clenched teeth.

“Aww, why Lulu? I wanted to stay longer.” Yes, this was fun, actually.

“I said, you can go now,” he repeated himself, eyes still closed.

“But Lulu --“

“Goddammit! Soyoung, get out of my ing house!” he shouted in rage mode causing me to stumble back from shock. Was he really that mad?

“Sheesh, someone can’t take jokes,” I rolled my eyes. “Next time, don’t try to persuade me to lie to my parents.”

I walked out the door, not wanting to see him. He really has issues. It’s just a nickname. Plus, I thought it was pretty cute nickname when I was told by his mom. How can he hate it?

Before I can go any further, just pass his car bit some bit, I heard the Lu's front door swing open. Before I knew it, Luhan grabbed my arm and jerked me back to face him, causing me to yelp by surprise.

“What’s up with you?!” I shouted, yanking my arm away from him.

He rolled his eyes, “Look, you said that you wouldn’t lie to your parents so I figured that I really can’t make you lie to them.”

“And???” I waited for him to go on. Let’s add bipolar to the list of ‘Luhan’s Personality’. He didn’t seem like he was ever mad. He was talking so calm right now.

“We won’t lie to your parents then,” he continued. “So come on.” He grabbed my hand and dragged me to the passenger’s side as he opened the door of his car.

Baffled, I tore my arm hand from his grip. “Sorry, but ‘come on’ where??”

“To have fun,” he replied blandly before pushing me towards his car but I refused.

“And you think I would go because?”

He rolled his eyes in annoyance. I could see that his temper was running short again.

“Look, I really don’t want to get ‘punished’, okay?” His fingers air quoted the word ‘punished’. “Do you really not know what the parents are capable of? I really don’t wanna do this either, but if you know the results, you would agree to go with my plan and lie.”

“If you’re so worried, then just tell me their plan about it,” I demanded. “After all, if I don’t contribute, then we do have to do that ‘punishment’ or whatever it is.”

“Then are you willing to lie to your parents?” His voice sounded of hope, yet I shook my head. He sighed, tired of having to do this. “Then can you at least get in the freaking car? We have places to go, you know?”

“But I don’t wanna go.” Yes, I can be stubborn. He was, so why can’t I be?

“For god’s sake, Soyoung, just enter the freaking car if you wanna know so bad.”

“Fine,” I surrendered. I think I messed him enough right now. He looks like he was about to lose it again. I don’t wanna see that side of him. It scared me, somehow.

I sat in his car as he closed the door for me. I buckled up while he got in on the driver’s side and started the car.

“Can you tell me now?” I asked him as he backed up out of the driveway.

“Can you wait?” he rolled his eyes for the umpteenth time today, before driving to where ever. I really had no idea on where he was taking me, but it better be a heck-of-a-nice place.

Author's Note♥:

I've updated! I'm sorry that I didn't update earlier. I wanted to, but because of school work, I couldn't update. I was dying to edit this chapter, but I don't necessarily have the time right now. School's getting more & more tough by the day, so I get less time surfing the web & writing out chapters for my stories, in which I really hate that I don't have much time. The updates for this story will probably go slower now. Maybe once every three days, or even once a week. It depends on how much homework & school work I have. I hope you guys understand.

Also, I've noticed that many of you guys tend mistake me as two people, because of my account, 'asdfghjklONLY4YOU' & 'My6TeenzOnTop'. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I should have told you guys. I'm one person. Haha. These two are my accounts here on AFF. Because I constantly go on both accounts, I thought it'd be easier if I made both accounts the author of this story so it'll be easier to update.

Plus, about this chapter!

I know, it's confusing & I'm sorry if it is. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions at all, whether you comment here, on my wall, or PM me, either is fine. The thing about commenting & Posting on my wall is that I don't usually get to you as fast as I do when you PM me. There's many of you guys that post on my wall, in which I'm grateful for, but I don't reply often, because there are so much wall posts, but that's not the problem. The problem is that I can't reply to so many of you in such little time, so please understand me if I take forever to reply to your wall post. Once I get some more free time, I promise to reply to you all :)

Thank you.
