Haejin Jung was born with a dream: to be a performer on stage.

Throughout her life, she'd watch idols on television and see them happy, smiling, and living their dream. Ever since she saw their beauty, their smile, and their crowd going crazy for them, she knew that was what she wanted to do with her life.

Haejin wanted that more than anything, especially since she was not happy.

No one could understand her unhappiness: she was born into a wealthy family, had everything she could ever want, was considered to be beautiful, and had the highest grades in her entire school.  She was the embodiment of perfection. Surrounded by wealth, power, but also plastic faces, solitude and chardonnay.

What no one knew was that her overbearing parents already had a dream for their little perfection.

Haejin's parents were the ones pulling their daughter's strings. They forced her to be the best, so that she could be successful further on in her life. They had dreams of their daughter becoming the heiress to their business, or to become a surgeon or physician, or a lawyer. It was a complete contrast of what Haejin wanted. She had to stop them.

So, she told them what she wanted to do, and not really to her surprise, they forbade it. They completely shut Haejin out and away from anything idol-related, reassigned her to an even stricter school, and kept their eye on her.

Thus, without confidence or support, Haejin's dream was crushed, and she lost herself to her troubles. She became depressed, and with a plastic smile moved on with life, going through the hoops her parents had set up.

Everything was going their way, that is...

Until a certain meddling boy turned their daughter's life around.

His name was Kim Jongin, also known as Kai. He was a dancer, and a trainee under the biggest entertainment label in South Korea, S.M. Entertainment. He could see through Haejin's facade and reached out to her, building her up to the dancer and performer that she wanted to be.

In the meantime, they developed feelings for each other. They shared common interests, mutual dreams and feelings, and Kai began to see Haejin for who she really was.

He got her an audition in front of S.M.'s CEO, and she was accepted into the company, much to her parents' protest and much to Haejin's happiness.

She joined the company, in the meantime accepting Kai's proposal to be his girlfriend. Things were finally beginning to look up.

Now, two years have passed since then, and many things have changed. Haejin has been training diligently and working hard as a trainee, and is now one of the best dancers in the company. She still remains in a relationship with Kai, and has good relations with her fellow trainees, and those above her.

But suddenly there comes an avalanche of news: there is a pending girl group, and a chance at stardom is up for grabs... This could be Haejin's chance.

But as Haejin's career begins to unfold, she is faced with many choices, and she learns that every choice bears a consequence.

Will the life she's come to know and love crumble in her hands, as a new, near-impossible one is forced into view?

Haejin

Jung Haejin, a trainee at S.M. Entertainment and girlfriend of Kai. She has worked under S.M. Entertainment under the trainee label. Haejin has been put through the general pressure of the trainee life, but she has never been prepared for what's about to be thrown at her. It will jeapordize her confidence, her performance, and her relationship with Kai and others around her. Will she make it through? Or will she fall apart once and for all?

Kai

Kim Jongin, also known as Kai. He has now debuted in a KPOP group called EXO, and is working very hard to bring the group success. He is Haejin's boyfriend, and understands the struggle and the pressure that she's going through as her trainee days progress. But S.M. has other plans for the couple, and Kai is placed under more pressure than he's ever been in his entire life. Will he be able to stick it out with his girlfriend? Or will he take the highroad?

EXO

SM Entertainment's rookie group, consists of twelve boys, with Kai included. This group is known for their incredible dance skills, their amount of fans, and their good-looks. They quickly rose to superstardom, and don't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
