Chapter 1

Walking along the familiar path to her mother’s work place, Yuri tightens her grip on the straps of her bag, whilst admiring the beautiful rows of houses that she has passed by ever since she could remember, hoping to live in one someday.

Taking in a breath of fresh air, she stops in front of the towering gates of the Jung residence.

“Good afternoon, ahjussi” Yuri greeted the man stationed by the guard house.

“Here to pick up your mother already?” The man asked, smiling while opening the gates.

“Yes,” Yuri answered politely, “My class ended early, so, I went straight here.”

“Well then, why don’t you go ahead at the back and wait for her there.”

“No, it’s okay. I’ll just wait for her here, I don’t want mom to get in trouble with Mrs. Jung.”

“Don’t worry about that, Mr. Jung and Mrs. Jung aren’t home.” He informs her, “Their daughters are the only ones here.”

“I don’t know…maybe, it’s best that I wait for mom here.” Yuri felt hesitant, afraid of getting her mother in trouble. Although, feeling tempted to explore, wanting to see – even just a glimpse of what the huge house looks like inside for the first time.

“You won’t get her in trouble, their daughters are nice girls.” He tries to assure her.

Taking his words for it, she agrees reluctantly. “Okay…”

Reaching the garden, Yuri carefully looks around; wanting to make sure no one will see her.

“Hi!”

Hearing a voice out of nowhere, Yuri felt scared out of her wits. Turning around, she gasps upon seeing one of Mrs. Jung’s daughters, Tiffany, leaning over the balcony by the second floor, looking at her.

Not knowing what to do, Yuri just stared at Tiffany feeling drawn, she was both scared and in complete awe.

Ever since she could remember, she has always admired Tiffany, hoping to catch a glimpse of her every time she picks her mother up from work. She couldn’t remember when it happened but it did; her innocent admiration for Tiffany blooms into a crush, she has always been contented to just stare at Tiffany from afar, knowing Tiffany would never take a second look at her.

“Hi!”

Snapping out of her reverie, Yuri heard Tiffany says again with a smile. Feeling herself blushing, Yuri awkwardly points at herself. “Me?”

The blush on her face deepens as she heard Tiffany giggle, before she heard Tiffany repeating herself for the third time. “Hi!”

Catching herself staring far too long, Yuri diverted her eyes somewhere else.

“H-hello, Ms. Tiffany.” Yuri stuttered feeling intimidated by Tiffany’s presence.

 “Yuri-ah?”

Yuri suddenly heard her mother, Boa, calling her from behind. Turning around, Yuri smiled at her mother apologetically.

Walking towards her daughter, Boa’s smile stiffens as she saw Tiffany looking at them.

“Can I do something for you, Ms. Tiffany?” Boa asks Tiffany politely.

“No, I’m good. Thank you.” Tiffany answered, still staring at Yuri.

“If that’s the case, please excuse us.” Boa hastily pulls Yuri with her as they retreat towards the helper’s quarters.

Looking back, Yuri saw Tiffany wink at her, making her blush before following her mother, failing to see the smirk on Tiffany’s face.

**

“Did Tiffany say anything to you back there?” Boa asked her daughter as they walk home.

“She just said hi to me that’s all.” Yuri sighs, knowing where their conversation is heading.

“You remember what I told you before, right?”

“I know, mom. Don’t worry, I didn’t forget.”

“It’s best that you don’t associate yourself with them, Yuri-ah. We’re different from them.”

Receiving a gentle pat on her back, Yuri gave her mother a timid smile, “I won’t.”

Yuri knew she has to follow her mother’s request even though she knew it didn’t originally come from her mother, but from Mrs. Jung.

It was true, they are different from them, the Jung family’s rich and they’re not. If only her father never left her mother, their lives would’ve been different. She was thankful for everything that her mother has provided for her, even though it wasn’t much but at the end of the day it didn’t matter since they’re happy, even if it’s just the two of them.

Arriving at their small one bedroom apartment, Yuri went straight to their room to change before she began cleaning the place, allowing her mother to rest.

Remembering her encounter with Tiffany earlier, Yuri couldn’t help but groan as she recalls her stupid action. “So much for a good first impression, she probably thinks I’m an idiot.”

“Yuri-ah, stop cleaning and let’s go to sleep its already late.”

Yuri snaps out of her reverie upon hearing her mother’s voice, who, was standing by their bedroom door looking at her.

“I’m almost done, mom. You go on ahead.”

“Just don’t stay up late cleaning.”

**

Taking the familiar road towards the Jung residence, Yuri saw a speeding car making an abrupt stop in the middle of the road before slowly backing up, and stopping near her.

Seeing the car’s passenger window rolling down, Yuri was surprised to see Tiffany inside sitting on the driver’s seat.

“Hi!” Tiffany greets.

“Hello, Ms. Tiffany.” Yuri greets back with sheer politeness.

“Get in!” Tiffany then opens the passenger door for Yuri.

“W-what?” Yuri was taken aback by Tiffany’s sudden invitation.

“Come on, I’m giving you a lift.” Tiffany offers, batting her eyes at Yuri.

“No its okay, Ms. Tiffany,” Yuri tries to decline. “I’ll just walk.”

“Please?” Tiffany bats her eyes, hoping to reel Yuri in.

Seeing no harm in accepting Tiffany’s offer, Yuri reluctantly nods her head. “Okay.”

Sitting inside Tiffany’s car, Yuri sat still focusing her attention outside.

“Yuri, right?”

“Y-yeah?” Yuri jolts from her sit.

Seeing Yuri’s reaction, Tiffany couldn’t help but laugh. “Will you relax? I don’t bite.”

Feeling embarrassed, Yuri tries her best to relax and calm herself down but being this close to Tiffany, she could feel her heart wanting to jump out of her chest.

“Sorry, Ms. Tiffany.” Yuri apologizes, not wanting to upset the latter.

Seeing the Jung residence from a distance, Yuri finally let herself to relax, until they passed by the house making her panic.

“Ms. Tiffany, we just passed by your house!” Yuri accidentally raised her voice at Tiffany, which Tiffany just shrugged off with a giggle.

“Yuri, relax okay? I just need to take care of a couple of things then we’ll be back in time when your mom needs to leave.” Tiffany gave Yuri a smile.

“B-but you can just drop me off, and I’ll just walk back.”

“Please, Yuri? You’ll do me a great favor if you go with me.” Tiffany then showed Yuri her puppy eyes.

Succumbing to Tiffany’s charm, Yuri reluctantly agrees, hoping that her mother wouldn’t find out.

**

Standing outside of the park, Yuri jolts from her position as she felt Tiffany’s arms around her own.

“Let’s go!” Tiffany smiled as pulls Yuri closer.

Yuri could feel her cheeks getting warmer and her heart growing twice its size, as she fells Tiffany’s warmth.

Stopping in front of a bench, Yuri allowed herself to be pulled by Tiffany to sit.

“So…Yuri,” Tiffany began. “Do you like me?”

Stunned by Tiffany’s forwardness, Yuri could feel herself getting tongue-tied.

“Do you?” Tiffany pressed on.

“I-I…”

“Cause if you do, then, I like you, too.” Tiffany stated before surprising Yuri with a kiss on the cheek.

“I-I…I do.” Yuri admits almost inaudibly, bowing her head down, feeling her cheeks getting warmer. “I…like you.”

Tiffany leans closer to Yuri and whispered. “Then from now on, I’m your girlfriend.”

Yuri gasps upon hearing Tiffany’s words, warning bells began to ring inside her head. “Wha—”

Unable to finish her words, Yuri’s body went stiff and her eyes went wide when she felt Tiffany’s lips on hers. The warning bells inside her head got loud, yet, she decided to ignore it.

Closing her eyes, Yuri began to respond, allowing herself to get lost in the kiss.

**

After the sudden confession in the park, the two began to secretly see each other.

Tucking away the guilt in the back of her head for disobeying her mother, Yuri knew that sooner or later, she will have to tell her mother the truth. But for now, she just wants to enjoy what she has with Tiffany.

Waiting for Tiffany at their usual spot in the park, Yuri began fiddling with the rose in her hand.

It had been weeks since they began dating, and up until now, Yuri could still feel her budding feelings for Tiffany growing. It was surreal; something she never dares imagine that could become real.

Hearing footsteps coming her way, Yuri smiled upon seeing Tiffany.

“Hey, did you wait long?” Tiffany asked, taking a sit beside Yuri.

“Here,” Yuri offered the flowers to Tiffany. “I got you this, I’m sorry it isn’t much.”

“Are you kidding?” Tiffany giggled before leaning towards Yuri to give her a kiss. “I like it, thanks.”

“You’re welcome.” Yuri said shyly with an evident blush on her face.

“Anyway, my birthday is this weekend and I was hoping that you’ll come.”

“I…well.” Yuri looked hesitant to speak. “I don’t think that will be a good idea.”

“Why not?” Tiffany gradually leans towards Yuri, tracing the latter’s jaw with her fingers. “Is it about what my mom told your mom?”

“Yes…” Yuri’s breath hitched, as she felt herself shiver by Tiffany’s touch, feeling her skin burning from the sensation.

Soon enough, Tiffany’s fingers found the nape of Yuri’s neck, pulling Yuri even closer to allow their lips to brush against each other.

Drowning in Tiffany’s action, Yuri closed her eyes as she fully captured Tiffany’s lips with her own.

Unbeknown to Yuri, someone was watching them from a far with an evident displeasure upon seeing their interaction, but not for Tiffany, everything was just going according to her plan.

Pulling away from the kiss, Tiffany smiled. “Still, think about it.”

**

“Whatever evil ideas you have, stop it.” Were the words that welcomed Tiffany the moment she came home, courtesy of her sister, who was glaring at her.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, my dear sister.” Tiffany smiled at Jessica, feigning innocence at her sister’s accusation.

“We both know, you know what I’m talking about.”

“And if I do?” Tiffany challenged, walking away from Jessica. “It’s not like you can do anything about it.”

Following her sister, Jessica grabs Tiffany’s wrist, spinning her sister to face her. “Stop this foolishness, Tiffany. Don’t include her in your list of people that you play with and throw away after you’re done with them.”

“You know with the way you’re telling this to me, I have this feeling that you like her.” Tiffany smirked.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Jessica denies vehemently.

“Oh, really?” Tiffany smiled in mockery, egging her sister on. “Then how come this is the first time that you’re telling this to me?”

“Because she’s innocent!” Jessica clenched her jaws. “And she’s not the only one who’s going to suffer the consequences of your action; her mother could lose her job because of this.”

“That’s not my problem anymore; she knew what she’s getting herself into.”

“I’m telling you, Tiffany, enough of this.” Jessica gave her sister one last warning, before walking away.

“Well…I just hoped you enjoyed our little show in the park earlier.” Tiffany mocked as she watched her sister’s retreating figure. “I just can’t wait to break her heart.”

**

Hands inside her jean’s pocket, Yuri strolls around the park, waiting for Tiffany to arrive like always.

Looking ahead, she spotted someone vaguely familiar approaching her, in strides that were intimidating with a pair of eyes that meant business.

Yuri’s eyes went wide when she realized who it was; it was Tiffany’s older sister, Jessica. She didn’t immediately recognize her due to the latter’s hair tied in a bun, a pair of thick rimmed glasses resting on the bridge of her nose, not to mention the out of fashioned conservative clothes that she was wearing, making her look like a librarian.

She didn’t know what to do, and it was already too late for her to run and hide.

“Kwon Yuri”

Yuri’s body went stiff upon hearing her name being called by Jessica, the latter’s tone felt venomous.

“H-hello…M-miss J-jessica.” Yuri chocked out, making sure not to make eye contact with the latter.

“I’ll get straight to the point; I want you to stay away from my sister.” Jessica then handed something to Yuri.

“What?” Yuri was stunned, not giving a damn about what Jessica was giving her.

“I’m pretty sure this is enough for you to do that.” Jessica brushed Yuri off, waiting for the latter to take the check in her hand.

Looking at the piece of paper in Jessica’s hand, Yuri felt offended, anger rising inside of her. Grabbing it from Jessica, Yuri didn’t think twice and rip it into pieces, surprising Jessica in the process.

“My feeling for Tiffany cannot be bought, Miss Jessica.” Yuri stared straight in Jessica’s eyes. “I love her, and she loves me.”

“You probably do love her, but she doesn’t love you.” Jessica spat. “She’s just playing with you.”

“I don’t believe you!”

“Stop being naïve and an idiot, you’re just a pawn in her little game; get out of it now while you still can.” Jessica warned.

“I’d rather be naïve and an idiot, rather than be like you, someone who’s heartless and cruel.” Yuri’s shoulder was shaking due to her anger. “I feel sorry for the person who will love someone like you, but I doubt there will be one because you’re ugly just the same as your personality.”

Now, it was Jessica’s turn to feel offended by Yuri. “Say whatever you want, I already gave you a warning, and it’s your choice for being stupid.”

Having enough of Jessica’s nasty words and cruel remarks, Yuri grabbed the back of Jessica’s head before kissing the latter with force, on impulse, not even knowing why she did that.

Jessica whimpered in pain, before shoving Yuri off, her hand making a hard impact on Yuri’s cheek. “H-how dare you!”

Yuri smirked, a dark look on her face, rubbing her cheek with her thumb. “I’m sorry; did I steal your first kiss?” She mocked. “You should consider yourself lucky; I’m probably the last person who will ever do that.”

Restraining the tears looming on the corner of her eyes, Jessica stood still. “I can’t believe I actually felt sorry for what my sister’s about to do to you, when in fact you’re just like her.”

“You have a funny way of showing how sorry you are.”

“Don’t worry, I’m not anymore. I hope my sister breaks your heart good.” Jessica then turned around and left in hasty steps.

Standing a couple of feet away from the scene, Tiffany smirked, having to enjoy the scene that transpired between Jessica and Yuri.

**

After her encounter with Jessica, Yuri was determined to prove her wrong; she finally agreed to attend Tiffany’s party. Dressed in the nicest clothes that she owns, Yuri nervously approached the Jung residence, with a bouquet of roses in her hand.

Taking the familiar path to the garden, Yuri saw Tiffany dancing in the midst of people around her, enjoying herself.

A hand grabbed her wrist, stopping her from her tracks, looking at the owner. Yuri frowned.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Jessica hissed, pulling Yuri at a corner.

“I’m here because I was invited.” Yuri flung Jessica’s hand off.

“You’re making the biggest mistake of your life for coming here.”

“The only mistake that I see here is you.”

“I’m giving you one last warning, Yuri. If you go there, you’re also risking your mother’s job.” Jessica pointed towards Tiffany’s direction. “Just go home.”

Yuri wanted to listen to Jessica, but wanting to prove her wrong surpassed her better judgment, as she left her behind and began to approach Tiffany.

“Tiffany!” Yuri called with a smile, clutching the bouquet in her hand tighter.

Tiffany turned around and looked at Yuri, a smirk forming on the corner of her lips.

“Who is she, Tiff?” Someone asked Tiffany.

“Yeah, babe, who’s the girl?” The guy behind Tiffany spoke, before wrapping his arms around her waist.

“I don’t know” Tiffany shrugged, looking as if she has never seen Yuri before.

“She’s probably a party crasher, just look at what she’s wearing.” Another girl commented.

Yuri couldn’t say anything and just stare at Tiffany, her eyes filled with pain, yet she didn’t want to believe it. “This isn’t funny, Tiffany. Just tell them who I am, tell them that I’m your girlfriend.”

“Girlfriend?!” Tiffany acted surprised. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Is this some kind of a joke?” The same guy asked, laughing at Yuri.

Their little commotion was beginning to attract the other guests around them, talking about the scene slowly unfolding in front of them.

Yuri can finally see the truth now, Tiffany was playing her all along, and Jessica was right for her falling for it. Allowing herself to be a pawn in Tiffany’s evil game, she felt foolish, and angry at herself but mostly especially at Tiffany, for playing with her heart.

“I hope you’re happy using me for your own amusement.” Yuri whispered harshly. Glaring at Tiffany, tempted to slap the latter, yet, she couldn’t find the heart to do so.

“What is happening here?!” Mrs. Jung approached her daughter, Boa trailing behind her, before turning her attention to Yuri.

Yuri saw the murderous glare Mrs. Jung gave to her mother before whispering something to her. She was then approached by her mother; a look of disappointment can be seen on her tired face.

She was then escorted by her mother away from the crowd, looking around; she can see the mocking look in their faces. Amongst them, she saw Jessica standing at a corner, not even sparing her glance, looking as if she was sorry for her.

Making a vow to herself, Yuri made sure to never forget what Tiffany has done to her, she’ll make her pay, she’ll make her family pay.

After all this time, I still can't write to save my life. Damn.

This chapter isn't much obviously, and for a fanfic that I left hanging for more than a year, I should obviously try harder. Still trying to condition myself to write again, and it's really difficult.

And shockingly, this isn't rated and has no ...maybe

Do leave a comment, suggestion, or complaint...and do upvote if you'd like

I'm not even gonna promise or say when I'm updating again cause obviously I'm bad at following that.

This story is actually fluff. believe me it is, it might not look like it now, but it will...eventually, if, of course, I continue and finish it.
