It is at times like this where Kyungsoo can't help, but remember how he met Kai. The loud chattering of their customers fills his ears and the aroma of bitter and sweet coffees fills his sensitive nose. Nevertheless, the cafe is still somewhat comfortable albeit the noise and the mixture of aromas.

They are currently speeding up their work, trying to catch up with the rush hour. More people enter the cafe and a few goes out. It's quite a challenge for Kyungsoo and his small body to do everything all at once, but this is work. So he has to do it. Ah, just like at that time. His mind says. Shut up. He answers. Oh silly you, you know you won't forget your first meeting. 

And what his mind is saying is definitely true. Of course, how could I forget?

A busy afternoon annoyed the out of Kyungsoo. Instead of sleeping on his bed, he took the shift of his co-worker who was sick. Sure, it added up to his salary, but he still thinks that sleeping is way more important than money. But nevertheless, he was working for money in which he would use for the rent of his shared apartment and his everyday food.

Kyungsoo still remembered the day when he began the hunt for a cheap rent, but with a normal apartment. It wasn't easy, per se. Kyungsoo took every advertisement he could get and encircled every ad for apartments there were. However, going out to meet the landlords using his bicycle was such a pain for him. Although the first three apartments had been rejected by him, he knows he had to pick one because he needed to move out fast. The first one being too small and too high for rent, the second one was wide, huge and cheap, but full of insects and of dirt. 

The last one he scrutinized was fairly fine, but he had to share it with a college student like himself. At first, doubts filled his blank mind. What if he's a total debauchee? What if he is a bad person? What if he takes advantage of me? Even with those thoughts in his mind, he somehow managed to meet the person in his doubts. Oddly enough, the boy was nowhere near of what he thought. The boy smiles a little too much, showing how rich he is with pearly with teeth. How he introduces himself to Kyungsoo with a proper greeting.

In conclusion, he took the risk and rented the apartment, where he got to share the rent with the other tenant. After paying the tenant, who have lived there for a month now, he started to move his things from his home. "I'll miss you sweetie!" He heard his mother shout from the window and earned a lot of weird stares. Nice going mom. He started to lift three small boxes and placed them on the back part of his bicycle and pulled his suitcase. Everything he needed was already in there (courtesy to his mom who packed it with love).

Back to the restaurant, he smiled at every customer he saw which earned him a lot of fans. Be it a girl or a boy (mostly the latter though). Even though Kyungsoo was smiling, the fact that they dared to disturb him from his beauty sleep wasn't forgotten. He sighed before preparing the coffee he needs to serve in table eight. After making the coffee, he took a piece of a blueberry cheesecake from the refrigerator and placed it on the tray with the coffee. 

He wondered what kind of person ordered this? If there was something Kyungsoo liked to do, it would be thinking of not normal things. He noticed small things normal people couldn't. He thought of small things that people usually ignored. He liked to think about things that were not, uh, usual.

As he served the person in table number eight, he found himself ogling at the sophisticated-looking man in a business suit. He looks young in Kyungsoo's eyes despite, his clothes that were for old men. Nevertheless, a manly and independent aura surrounds the man. He is so, perfect. Kyungsoo still stared in awe with his eyes twinkling at the man.

The said man noticed that the waiter is taking too long to go away, and so he lifted up his head — he was reading a report a while ago — and stared back. Kyungsoo flushed in embarrassment when those deep chocolate orbs stared back at him. They those eyes stared back at him made him blush.

It's not a secret to Kyungsoo and his family about his reference, in fact, his mother was the one who pushed him to like men. Why? He didn't know. Although homouals had it hard, in his case, it was quite easy. Browbeaters were around, sure, but his best friend would always save him from them. Hyunsik — the-ever-so helpful best friend — was always there for him.

Too bad, Hyunsik had to abandon him for his family's summer vacation in Hawaii. Ah, summer vacation, the reason Kyungsoo was still working full-time. He bowed down in apology to the man and turned around to scram. Only to be stopped by a rough, yet warm hand on his wrist.

"Y-yes?" He stammered, his heart beating loudly inside his chest. A blush forced its way on Kyungsoo's cheeks as the man pulled him down unto his lap. He squeaked, like the man he was. "Kyungsoo-ssi?" He heard his name from those sinful lips, the man's husky voice sent shivers down his spine. 

"I'd like to order another cake."

Everyday, that man came back, always sitting on table number eight. Like a habit, Kyungsoo would be the one in charge of his food. Well, that table is in his part after all. Waiters in that cafe were in charge of specific tables, just to be sure and peaceful. That sophisticated man named Kai would always tease Kyungsoo whenever he had the chance.

By then, Kyungsoo noticed how cute that sophisticated man was whenever he furrowed his brows while reading something on his tablet. He also noticed how y those lips were after drinking a hot steaming coffee and the tongue that follows suit. However, his eyes were still void and empty. Like a machine in a human body with human habits.

It piqued Kyungsoo's attention a lot because he really has a thing for eyes. His own eyes were annoying him, those big and innocent-like were taunting him and his past. Eyes are the windows of the soul, they said. So why was it that, that man had an empty eyes? Maybe he's lonely. Kyungsoo thought.

Kyungsoo didn't like that sophisticated man. Kyungsoo didn't like Kai. Kyungsoo didn't like complicated people. He knew it was bad to judge but, that man obviously had a lot of things going on in his life. It wasn't his first time observing and judging a stranger. In fact, he did it a lot. His first victim was named Joonmyeon, his boss as of the moment.

That person was too soft. Kyungsoo thought, before shaking his head and went to take the order from table number eight. 

Soft hands hold unto Kyungsoo's own pair, steadying his trembling hands that are holding a cup of coffee. This wakes Kyungsoo up from his reverie. "W-wah?" He glances up to see his boss looking worriedly at him. "Are you alright?" He asks, his voice stiff and tense. Kyungsoo manages to nod his head before bowing down for apology.

"It's alright, just do your work." 

"Ne, Suho-ssi."

Kyungsoo manages to finish his work early, wanting to rest and sleep when he gets home. But Kai has other plans for him. "Hey Soo." The sophisticated man walks near him once he walks out of the cafe. Kyungsoo's wide eyes stare up at his lover before muttering a soft, "Hey."

Kai rolls his eyes before pulling Kyungsoo in his car. "Sleep with me tonight."
