I'm Okay

Description

 

       Three years. It's been three years, and all I want is for it to stop. I want it to stop and I want it to never start again. But things like this take time, I know. It took time to begin; it'll take time to end. So I'll wait. I'll wait, I'll survive, I'll fight. I'll endure until that day I've been waiting for. Hoping for.

       But for the time being, I'm okay.

 

Foreword

 

       It's a mantra I can't seem to get out of my head, but I don't really want it out either. It keeps me sane to some degree.

       I'm okay.

       Every day, I fight to survive. I fight back against the snarling, growling, barking animals of my own little corner of the world. They snap their teeth at me, burn their eyes into me, and I just tell myself not to cower underneath them.

       I tell myself I'm okay.

       And maybe, hopefully, they'll stop biting at me. They'll stop attacking me and just let me live a life where I don't have to repeat it to myself to remember it.

Chapter 1: Different from the usual tragic stories, this seems more real instead of focusing on romance, it's beautiful in a way, one of those rare ones lol :)
