Beatrice is the daughter of Lord Alexander Bennet, the owner of 100 acres of land in St. Ives and the most respected of all gentlemen in Cornwall, besides the Duke. her family is esteemed, and Beatrice is expected to marry well. Her mother, Lady Margaret Bennet is determined to have her daughter marry Jonathan Harris, Duke of Cornwall. Beatrice, on the otherhand, is a rebel of society. Sure, she'll squeeze into the corsets and don the fanciest of hats, but she longs to play by the river, climb trees, wear pantaloons like the boys, and most importantly, marry for love.
